    Pumpkin ramen

The taste of the ramen was not too flavorful but decent portion size. We went on a weekday night and there were plenty of seating. If you're really into ramen, this place is probably not what you're looking for. Service was timely. They gave you a lot of time to look at their menu. It was a chill spot with bar seating as well as normal seating. Nothing too memorable about the interior.

Prettttyyy good! The first time I went for some reason was a little better than the second. Not sure if they changed the ramen recipe up. However I like the thick noodles, and the service there is always really nice. Can always count on getting a seat immediately.

After COVID Ruckus reopened and I was extremely happy. I started going once a month , the ramen was sooo yummy. As time went on and management changed and the chefs, boy did the quality go down the drain. I order the same dish all the time and it started tasting different and not in a good way. I went 3/23/2023 and was extremely disappointed. The host/waiter was new and he wasn't friendly. I ordered the same dish after taking a hiatus for a few months with my best friend. Needless to say the broth was lacking flavor and had a weird taste to it. We both woke up the next day with the runs! I will not be returning again. I will now start going to the ramen place across the street.

TLDR: samurai champloo inspired decor with hit or miss ramen. The inside has a cool vibe with graffiti style artwork and hip hop music playing. A bunch of bar style seating that probably isn't good for groups at more busy times. I got the shoryuken ramen which was only ok. It had his weird Chinese herbal taste to it that I didn't like. The noodles were done perfectly and the soy hard boiled was good but everything else kind of meh. I also tried their chicken ramen which was delicious and creamy. I think the shoryuken has a place for a certain subset of people but not for me. Definitely try the chicken ramen when you're here and enjoy the cool insi

Sometimes fusion works, sometimes it doesn't. Here, both results exist. If I just had a spicy miso lit, I would have been massively disappointed. The broth was too spicy, while the ground pork proved to be ineffective. The extra order of chashu was not my style either. It's not pork belly but more of a marinated pork neck, which didn't really do it for me with ramen. Get me a bowl of white rice and some sauteed pea-pod stems...and maybe I can dig it. I was neutral-positive to the shoryuken ramen. While I can appreciate the Chinese elements to the ramen, it ultimately didn't fit me. The redeeming element for both was that the noodles were quite good, with a nice bite to them. However, what saved this place for me were the onigiri starter and the tori paitan ramen. The onigiri looked elegant and colorful The blow torching of the rice was neat and the savory filling inside was plentiful, which was spicy beef. The tori paitan was fantastic. I enjoyed the chicken-based broth thoroughly as it wasn't too thick or thin. The fried chicken strips and chicken chicharron were crispy and proved to be a nice contrast to the un-crispy elements in the noodles. The heirloom cauliflower was a colorful touch and was lightly cooked before serving. It didn't taste raw yet it wasn't soggy. The execution of the egg was acceptable. Yes, the ramen is a bit pricey here but portions seem to be on the higher end. Like a lot of fusion places, you'll find your hits and misses here. Just hope for the restaurant's sake, people find more hits first.

Had lunch here yesterday, cute place, the waiter was nice and attentive. The food was really good will definitely be back for more. The Spicy Tori Miso Ramen was to die for the broth was so rich and the pork belly falls apart and is super juicy. Highly recommend if you're looking for a tasty quick bite to eat!

Quick service type place where you order and pay up at register, grab a number and sit where you like. Like most quick ramen places, the seating is mostly barlike. Clean modern place with upbeat atmosphere and nice décor. The Dope Yolk (2/5) - the marinated duck egg was good with the rice but the uni didn't taste fresh. The seasoned rice and chausage crisps were good mixed together but overall this app didn't really wow me. Black garlic mazemen (2/5) - This sounded super interesting on the menu (grilled lamb leg, roasted Brussel sprouts, fried eggplant, mushroom, soy egg) but fell short in terms of flavor. The lamb was sliced and was flavorful, easy to chew and not too much gaminess. The fried eggplant was on point and so was the Brussel sprouts that were charred to my liking. The biggest thing that didn't ring with me was the soup base. It tasted off and didn't have any depth of flavor. It was bland and disappointing.

Taking my tastebuds to whole new heights, Ruckus offers a modern twist on Japanese cuisines that has totally changed the game for me. Each dish they've curated correlates with the ambiance excellently here. You're basically sitting in a present-day ramen spot with hip figurines and portraits in a fun-filled, vibrant-colored room with an open kitchen. Love it. Hamachi Crudo- The cut and color alone of the yellowtail were impressive. The condiments added were red curry crab vinaigrette, crispy garlic, freshly squeezed lime and cilantro to top it off. A perfect starter dish packed with flavors. Fried Pork Belly Onigiri- A crispy crusted rice ball wrapped with a thin strip of dried seaweed, dressed with pickled onion, chili mayo, micro shiso, and hijiki. A very savory and crunchy snack. Dope Yolk- You're presented a bowl with seasoned rice that's been fried on the edges, marinated duck egg yolk, uni, tobiko, chausage crispy and green onion strings. After mixing everything together and trying out the first bite, oh it's the creme de la creme. Overall Service: Absolutely amazing from beginning to end. The host was very inviting and the chef was engaging and personable. I'll definitely have to come back to try out their ramen next time.

Not good and overpriced. I ordered a take out since it was difficult to find a parking spot in Chinatown. Originally thought this was a very good ramen restaurant according to Newsweek. Very disappointed!

The best is the dope yolk but never come back again because the ramen and udon soupbase is so salty and deep flavor. Make me keep drinking water. Came here on friday for lunch, the place was empty.

Came here for a late night meal. Staff was friendly and helpful. We grabbed a few items. The Tokyo style ramen, dope yolk , & crispy heirloom potato. All was pretty good. The ramen was hearty and the pork belly was crispy. Dope yolk was a different.all the texture just went together. All they have a decent food. I would be back

Went here once after ice skating at night in Boston and the vibe there is just so chill. It's just my personal preference but I like their neon lights inside of the restaurant. We ordered The Dope Yolk as a starter and I've never really had Japanese cuisine before and I tend to not stray away from the regular crab and shrimp seafood, so I was hesitant to try it because there was uni in it. But it was actually pretty good, reminded me of eating rice with soy sauce but fancier. I personally ordered the Miso Lit Ramen with pork belly and the broth was the noodles had such a next texture to it. Don't get me started on the pork belly. The outside was so crispy but the fat just melted into my mouth. The egg however was not really to my taste, very salty, but if that's what you like then you should eat here.

The Dope Yolk WITH NO UNI....... disappointing.

Cool atmosphere, I walked in and the hostess was very nice and friendly. I ordered the dope yolk and the salmon poke bowl. I was super excited about both of these and was pretty impressed by the portion of the poke bowl! It was flavorful and the green onions added a nice green freshness to the dish. Super disappointed when I realized that the dope yolk was missing the uni... I didn't realize until I left and was about to write this review, when i saw other pics of it. It was small portion of rice, egg yolk and tobiko. Super upsetting and don't know if they left out the uni on accident and feel like that is a crucial and rather important ingredient to leave out. Just kinda super irritated already left and paid. Just called - and they said they ran out of uni, that's why there wasn't any in my bowl. Well, if they knew they were out of the most expensive ingredient in the dish, they SHOULD have let me know when i ordered so i would have probably ordered something else and get that next time. Honestly, feel super gyped and hope they will give me extra uni next time i come in. Will update this review if this actually happens...

When we walked into Legal, the place was dead, the music was awful, and the vibe was just not there. So we sat at the bar and grabbed a drink while searching for a place to get an actual dinner where we could find last-minute reservations. Shojo in Chinatown came up with great reviews and after looking at the menu and seeing that we could get a reservation, we headed over. It was a short walk from the Ritz and Chinatown is just such a fun place with great energy. When we walked in, we knew we had made the right call and were easily able to switch our reservation from a table to bar seats, which is always an added bonus. The place is low lit and the music is on the louder side, but nothing was excessive to the point that we didn't enjoy our time there. We ordered a variety of drinks while there - a Toki Highball draft, a spicy tequila drink with lemongrass, a few different types of Japanese whiskeys as well (they have a really extensive list). As far as food goes, they categorize their menu into Snacks, Baos, and Rice, Noodles, and Dumplings. There's a lot of vegetarian friendly options, which is always a plus for me. My highlights were the 7 vegetable stir fry, fried eggplant bao, edamame dumplings, and the Thai veggie spring rolls. The salt and pepper calamari was also really great. Everything was terrific and really unique. Service was good - not great, but they took notice of empty glasses and were quick to bring out food, so I have absolutely no complaints. Shojo is somewhere I'd absolutely return to when staying in the area, I'm really happy we all turned what would have been a very touristy, depressing experience into something with a WAY better vibe and time!
