He woke up in the morning with a swollen red and very hot leg so of course that was our first thought. Got here at 8:50 AM. It is now 1215. We're still sitting here. They came in and did a Doppler on his leg a half hour ago but we're still waiting for word about their findings. Over three hours, we are starving and my patience is growing thin. I asked a nurse what is the delay? She seemed a little bit annoyed because she was not "our" nurse. I see signs everywhere saying they're driving for a five! They're not striving very hard. Even if they just sent someone in to check on us from time to time? We just feel very ignored. Finally released after 1pm. Dang! But so thankful it's not a clot, cellulitis ( still not good but not emergant. )

While waiting in the lobby I called a loved one and she was praying for my daughter and I. The triage nurse calls my daughters name. We walk into the triage room. I'm standing there quiet, phone to my ear and the nurse tells my day to be weighed. She looks at me...and rudely says I can't be on my phone. I shake my head ok. We immediately sit in the chairs next to her desk. I hang up my call. Look at the nurse and say, it's been a lot today..can you just be kind, have compassion...my daughter passed out...I have surgery in less then 24 hrs. Tears are welling up. She says to me. Are you talking about me. I say yes. Please just be kind. She then says to me get out. Get up and get out. Demands I leave. Calls the security in to have me removed!!!! I ask to speak to a mgr...no one says a thing. Security tells me I got to go. Then tells me I can't be in there with my daughter to which I immediately tell him he is wrong. My daughter is under age. I then ask for a mgr. He goes to get one but another nurse calls my daughter. I speak to a mgr when things calm. She basically tells me the nurse was asking me to wait outside so someone else could help me.....not cool. I will be filing multiple complaints to make sure Lisa the triage nurse understands how NOT to act when people are in need. Not ok. I honestly don't know if I will be back. I'll more than likely drive far for better care. 100% believe it was fueled by racism!!!

Service was fast and we always felt well cared for. The emergency room physician was from Wake Med (who staffs the ER) and clearly knew what she was doing. The nursing staff was caring and did a great job at keeping us informed. My wife was admitted and required transportation to Wake Med and that too went off without a hitch. We will not hesitate to use them again.

The…read moreER trip went very smooth, it was a Sunday morning and the place was quiet but we had to wait for some staff to arrive and for patients in front of us to be processed first. So the wait was about 45 minutes which felt slow. But once we got a room everything went well, the staff was friendly and everyone seemed to be very busy. They kept us informed, took good care of my son, and we got out in about 4 hours, with prescriptions and plenty of information in hand. The Mammography area (for lack of a better term?) is comfortable and I'm always in and out of there within 30 minutes TOTAL, that is arriving and leaving. The dressing room and the area where the X-rays are taken is dark and comfortable (with cloth gowns, YES!), unlike the stark white, cold, bright rooms with paper "shirts" I was accustomed to when I went to a place in Cary. I'm glad to live near this new Hospital and I hope they continue to be a good place to go.

This is the place to choose for cancer treatment in Garner, NC. In my opinion, you will not find…read morebetter care than here. The infusion nurses, front desk employees, CMAs, pharmacist, social worker, dietitian, financial navigator, care coordinators, nurse practitioners (Sara and Stephanie), and doctors (McNulty, Sheets, and Rauch) are all efficient, intelligent, and caring. You can trust the staff here to be respectful and provide you patient-centered, evidence-based care. The center is located in a large healthcare plaza. Parking is available at no charge in several lots. Some handicap spaces are available out front of the buildings. Building 300 is in the back center. The front door is near the circular drop-off area (round-a-bout). The clinic is located on the second floor (elevators and stairs available) above Wake Radiology. Upon leaving the stairwell or elevator, the doors across the hall lead into the waiting area. Check in at the counter then wait for your name to be called. This center offers medical oncology (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, labs, follow-up, etc.). It does not have a means to provide radiation treatment. The infusion room is welcoming, light, and chilly. The lovely nurses will take great care of you during treatment. They offer warm blankets, pillows, beverages, and snacks. You can bring in a guest (if over the age of 16) and your own snacks. The chairs are comfortable and have curtains or walls, depending on where you sit, to provide privacy. Windows provide natural light and have blinds to use as needed. Paperwork is provided via myChart and printed by request. Overall, ideal place to go for hematology/oncology treatment particularly if you live near or around Garner.
