The floors were slick and there were puddles all along the garage making it difficult to walk safely being we had to go between buildings to find where we needed to be after parking because the lot is full. There are a few disabled spots and they're always taken. The office itself is very nice. Dr MUSGROVE is a rockstar. He takes the time to actually read on my genetic condition and always has a plan of action when I come in. It's nice that he took the time to research and check whats been going on with my health instead of asking me the same things over and over. His entire staff is great. The lab staff is fabulous. They're super friendly and we laughed and joked while waiting for me to be called in. I came at the end of the day so they had some time before leaving and we had nice conversations. The tech Claudette was great. One stick and she was done. They usually have to get me multiple times but she was in and out in one shot. The entire building is spotless and well maintained.

I recently fell and fractured my ankle, requiring surgery…read more From the minute we arrived to WakeMed North until we drove away (1:30 pm until 8 pm) our experience was top notch! The quality of care was outstanding and the friendliness of every single employee we interacted with was amazing. The intake lady, Addy, was so kind and helpful. Regine the nurse who cared for me was kind and so warm. I was very nervous and she helped me feel more comfortable. The EKG nurse (I believe was Chantal/Cherene) was sweet, funny and made me more relaxed. Dr Rossi, the anesthesiologist, explained everything and was very professional and kind. The anesthesia nurse (a man, very kind!) was great. I don't recall his name because I was getting very loopy! Dr Correa my orthopedic surgeon was terrific. I met him earlier this week to schedule the surgery - he's funny, kind, and takes time with his patients. Overall, a great experience - considering this was a surgical procedure and I was a wreck. The care and concern by all staff was evident and so very appreciated. Side note - parking spaces very close to entrance, which is so helpful.

Review of WakeMed North Hospital - Emergency Department…read more I brought my wife to the WakeMed North Emergency Room around 5:00 PM due to severe shortness of breath and dizziness. She is pregnant, which made the situation especially concerning. Upon arrival, the front desk and triage staff were welcoming, and the triage nurse stated he was not comfortable with her vitals and would push her to the top of the board. Blood was drawn and swabs were taken in the waiting room, which initially gave us confidence that her condition was being taken seriously. Unfortunately, that is where the urgency seemed to stop. We waited two hours in the waiting room before being moved to a hallway bed, where we waited another 45 minutes before a nurse approached and asked what was wrong -- despite triage notes already being taken. After explaining again that she was pregnant and short of breath, we were told the doctor would come see her. Another 45 minutes later, a lab technician arrived appearing confused, stating she was there to draw labs. My wife explained she had already had blood drawn and pointed to the IV already placed. The technician said she needed to place another IV and draw more blood, seemed unsure whether she could use the existing IV, and left to "check." She never returned. Instead, another nurse later drew two more vials of blood from the original IV and left without explanation. Eventually, the doctor came in and told us my wife had the flu and that medication would be started. We then waited another 30 minutes before the original nurse returned, performed an ultrasound without explanation, said she needed to chart, and left again. She returned about 15 minutes later with discharge paperwork. When we asked about the medication the doctor mentioned, the nurse said she would check. She then informed us that the prescription had been called into our pharmacy, and that we could "start it tomorrow," even though it was now 10:30 PM. My wife was discharged in the same condition she arrived in -- still short of breath, dizzy, and without receiving any medication, breathing treatment, or symptom relief. Aside from bloodwork and an ultrasound, no treatment was provided to improve her condition before discharge. While we understand emergency departments are busy, the lack of communication, repeated confusion among staff, excessive wait times, and discharge without symptom improvement -- especially for a pregnant patient -- were deeply disappointing. This experience left us feeling unheard and unsafe, and it did not reflect the level of care we expected.

I was recently a patient at WakeMed Cary Hospital. I was seen in the ER/ED on a Wednesday night,…read moreadmitted to the hospital the next morning, and released the following Tuesday night. My experience with each staff member was superb! Everyone- my doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, lab technicians , the folks who delivered my lunch trays, (and anyone in between) treated me professionally, with kindness, compassion and respect. I really want to give this hospital 5 stars but I can't due to one major issue. The bed, precisely the mattress was horrible! I was admitted with an issue concerning my spine, yet the mattress on my bed actually made my pain worse. There was a visible dent or "wallowed out" hole in this mattress which caused me enough discomfort that it interfered with my ability to sleep, and added to my pain level. I mentioned this to several staff members, and the reply was always the same, " That's what everyone says. All the beds here are in poor shape." A nurse gave me a small cushion to fit in the hole in hopes of helping the situation, which improved it very little. They were in the process of trying to find a better bed, but I was released before it happened. I am not a person who complains much, but I realized that if the reply was always-" most of the bed are like this," Then there are so many other patients suffering during their stay at WakeMed Cary Hospital, something must be done to correct the problem. I sincerely hope that WakeMed's Supply Chain Executive Director will take this to heart.

Nobody truly wants to be able to write a review about a hospital but this needs to be written. In…read morethis triangle area, there are more than a few choices when it comes to healthcare. I hadn't been here a week when I needed assistance so distance won the battle. I went to a location closer to my home then was transferred to this main campus. Aesthetically, it's not the most modern hospital in the area meaning it's not necessarily "pretty". At the end of the day, that doesn't matter. My interactions were all pretty seamless - from the registration counter to conversations with surgical staff and every step in between. The standout group were all the nurses who helped me during my stints. They were some of the kindest people I've ever met. Which signaled, to me, that they were/are being treated well by their employer. To say this was a live-changing exchange is an understatement. If I had to make a choice on one of the best hospitals in the area based on the level of care and commitment from staff, I'd choose WakeMed.
