The reception area of the Emergency Room
Romneka G.

Currently sitting in the ER with my parents waiting for some one to come and collect the urine sample he's been holding for the last 20 minutes. They took his blood but didn't collect the urine sample which baffles me. Why is he still holding on to a urine sample a nurse or someone should have been sent off to test for appendicitis. I guess I shouldn't have high expectations....there's a diabetic woman who's been screaming in pain who has been waiting for a bed since 10am. But they are "soooooo sorry for her wait". I hate WakeMed and the whole NC health system. I will be updating the longer we sit here.

Absolutely terrible and incompetent facility. Save your time and go to a different hospital.

Our family member was in the ED at Cary WakeMed and once in the ED room, smelled something awful. The bed blanket had dried vomit on it!

This review is in regards to the aquatics area…read more Pros: They have a separate therapy pool where the temp is kept nice and toasty- at least 89 degrees. The lap pool is huge. The water is salt water so you don't smell like chlorine for days. The ambient air is warm so no freezing when you get out of the pool. They also have a steam room, whirlpool, and dry sauna in the common areas. The locker rooms are clean and they provide you with keys and towels. Plenty of parking. Cons: The therapy pool needs refinishing. The bottom is uneven, sloping in all directions, so if you are trying to do physical therapy, it's almost impossible to stand with proper posture. It's definitely worse for wear. I've been told they are refinishing the pool come Fall so hopefully this will fix that. If not, I'll have to lower my review to 3 stars because that's all it really deserves due to the condition of the pool. It would be great if the deep part of the therapy pool (which is oddly in the middle) was actually a little deeper so one could do noodle-work. When an exercise class is happening, the instructors blare their music. I've had waterproof, noise-cancelling headphones playing my own music and I can still hear the classes' music. You can avoid this by going when there are no scheduled classes. The whirlpool jets are way too powerful. They actually knock me over. Unfortunately, someone is always in the whirlpool with them on, so I never get to go in. The temps for the dry sauna and steam room are WAY too hot. There are some folks who always turn them up to the maximum and no one (staff) ever seems to come by and turn them back to a reasonable level. I've noticed when I turn them down, they stay that way for a 24/36 hours and then they are cranked back up. I like a hot steam, but when it's so warm your skin hurts, that's too hot. General Info: Classes are super busy and pools are crowded. Arrive a little early. If you don't like a crowd, come when there are no classes, which is a good portion of the day. Be prepared for strangers to ask what's wrong with you and why you are there. They are always nice about it, but if you're young (like me), be ready :) I find the later in the day you go, the quieter it is. Mornings seem quite busy. If there is a scheduled class in the lap pool, there are usually several people following along while in the therapy pool.

Finally a place where you can focus on getting in shape! The other people who work out here are…read morenice and the equipment is in great shape. Truly a no judgement zone. The lap pool isn't freezing and it's salt water so it's easy on the skin. Everything is clean and in order.

Man I loved my actual in person experience and my initial interactions were all so positive but I…read moream having a ridiculously difficult time accessing my lab results. I literally work in tech and I cant figure out how to get any answers from this place or their portals/sites. The only online portal I can find is to pay them (which I have). It is so easy to access financial information but finding medical answers feels impossible. I have tried resetting my password, making a new account, calling the Kildaire location multiple times. I either get no answer or someone does answer but that person has no answers. AHHH. I would love to have just one medical experience that isnt expensive and stressful.

I had previously been diagnosed with an ear infection by my PCP and prescribed a 5 day course doxycycline. It flared back up and am leaving the state for a week on Saturday. My PCP was closed due to NYE so I went to NextCare. 4.5 hours later I'm told I have flue B despite no symptoms beyond fever and dismissed. The arrogant FCP, non-doctor, said my ear was bulging but she could not see why. Totally ignored previous diagnosis from an actual Dr and gave me a tamiflue prescription despite. She then proceeded to ask me if I was a Dr or healthcare professional when I questioned why she was ignoring the fact my ear was bulging and the previous diagnosis. She did not even listen to heart and lungs until she brought me the discharge papers. Absolute waste of time and there needs to a zero star rating. AVOID
