When I'm called up there to station 3, she's rude, condescending, & has a bad attitude. She tells me I got the wrong kind of ticket. Instead of checking me in and fixing my issue on the spot, she tells me I have to get another ticket and wait in line again. An hour later, I finally get my X-ray. I had an unnecessary long wait because of her laziness and incompetence. Beware of this place!

There were some things that could have certainly been better: communication was a big one! That being said, there are employees that truly touched my heart and here is my "angel" list! Porscha (ER waiting room) found myself, & my brother & sister-in-law a place for us to eat some food. She was already an hour past her sign out time! Dominique Koomson,PA (Cardiology), was so empathetic, caring, and explained a plan for my optimal health care safety. I needed to stay overnight & have a cardiac catherization the next morning. Next, we were in ER Holding. Ashley (ER Paramedic/RN), who was working extra for staffing, checked on us & asked if I was having any chest pain. She offered us food & drinks. Craig (ER Tech) secured my sister-in-law a recliner instead of a 2 chairs because staying overnight was our only option at 11pm! Kacie (Day RN) helped my anxiety & prepared me for my catherization. She communicated fearlessly with Shae (Charge Nurse) to resolve scheduling issues. Shae was informative, caring, and worked with Bed Control & the Cath Lab to alleviate many, if not all our concerns. Benita (8th Floor RN) saw to my safe recovery before I was discharged to my family's home. Dr Mohit Pasi and his staff made sure that I had films & copies of my test results. I even had Nitroglycerin called in for me to make my travel home safe. Needless to say, I made it home to San Diego safely. My cardiologist was pleased with my care in Raleigh. My follow up appointment went well. Please make sure administration knows that these "angels" were very personal to me and my family. Thank you, Elizabeth Donner

She gave us pamphlets about possible diseases in Africa and what to look out for, not to wear dark colors because it attracts a type of fly, etc. The room was clean and organized, welcoming, too. They were very gentle giving us our shots which made for a pleasant experience. We came out well informed and ready for our month-long trip to Africa and above all, prepared. The quality of care was outstanding and the friendliness of every single employee we interacted with was amazing. The intake lady, Addy, was so kind and helpful. Regine the nurse who cared for me was kind and so warm. I was very nervous and she helped me feel more comfortable. The EKG nurse (I believe was Chantal/Cherene) was sweet, funny and made me more relaxed. Dr Rossi, the anesthesiologist, explained everything and was very professional and kind. The anesthesia nurse (a man, very kind!) was great. I don't recall his name because I was getting very loopy! Dr Correa my orthopedic surgeon was terrific. I met him earlier this week to schedule the surgery - he's funny, kind, and takes time with his patients. Overall, a great experience - considering this was a surgical procedure and I was a wreck. The care and concern by all staff was evident and so very appreciated. Side note - parking spaces very close to entrance, which is so helpful.

I was transported here by ems directly to the ER. My room…read morein the ER was ready when I arrived. I was cared for quickly by several staff members and I had 2 visits from an ER doctor. I was admitted but had to wait to go into a regular room. Apparently there was an mis communication in the housekeeping department. Thank goodness for a sweet nurse who finally got it ready. My room was small, but functional and very quiet. The bed was comfortable and the temperature was great. I had an alarm on my bed so I had to call even to go to the bathroom. I never waited more than 2 minutes before someone came. EVERY nurse, nurse assistant, lab tech and physical therapist was excellent except one, and that one was just average. ( thankfully I didn't have that one long in the ER) I have had much worse! I was in the cardiac unit and several of the employees said the same thing....everyone works well together and as a team. It was very obvious and it made a big difference in the level of care I received. The care I received here was the best in house stay I have ever experienced. I have had multiple surgeries in several different hospitals. If I ever have to go back to a hospital, I will insist on wake med Cary'!!!!!

Instead of feeling supported by the physician and healthcare system we trusted, we were left feeling completely on our own during a time when proper medical guidance and follow-up were critical. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of accountability and follow-through. At our last appointment, Dr. Kaspar specifically informed us that his office would be reaching out to schedule the next follow-up appointment. That never happened. No phone call, no appointment, no communication, and no explanation. For a practice responsible for caring for post-surgical patients, this level of neglect and lack of coordination is deeply concerning. Throughout this entire experience, we felt as though my mother was treated more like a chart number than a patient. When a family entrusts a surgeon with the care of a loved one, they expect not only medical expertise but also professionalism, communication, compassion, and a commitment to ensuring proper recovery. Unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Kaspar and WakeMed fell far short of those expectations. The combination of the difficult outcome following surgery and the complete failure to follow through on promised post-operative care destroyed our confidence in this provider and the practice. We would never return and cannot recommend Dr. Kaspar or WakeMed Urology based on our experience. Patients deserve far better communication and continuity of care than what we received.

I hadn't been here a week when I needed assistance so distance won the battle. I went to a location closer to my home then was transferred to this main campus. Aesthetically, it's not the most modern hospital in the area meaning it's not necessarily "pretty". At the end of the day, that doesn't matter. My interactions were all pretty seamless - from the registration counter to conversations with surgical staff and every step in between. The standout group were all the nurses who helped me during my stints. They were some of the kindest people I've ever met. Which signaled, to me, that they were/are being treated well by their employer. To say this was a live-changing exchange is an understatement. If I had to make a choice on one of the best hospitals in the area based on the level of care and commitment from staff, I'd choose WakeMed.
