I was in the hospital hallucinating for 3 days after an overdose, and i didnt speak to a therapist for HOURS. The staff were all extremely rude and didnt take anything seriously. With Covid19 running rampid throughout the country, this is the last place I want to be. However, after being sent to the hospital by the urgent care doctor, and seeing a practically empty E.R. parking lot, and waiting room, I was relieved. As I walked in, I was greeted like I had just entered a store. The lady at the front desk, got me checked in before I could sit down. And as I went to sit down, I got called to the back. Everyone was very nice, and hospitable. The phlebotomists is one of the people I dread seeing the most (for obvious reasons). However, Mrs. B was very gentle, fast, and somehow has managed the craft of sticking me undetectably with that ginormous ( ; needle. I honestly could not feel the needle entering my hypersensitive skin. The nurses, and Dr. Salisbury (Please forgive me if I misspelled his name) were uber-nice, helpful, and explanatory. They kept the mood light, and fun which kept me from being nervous, and anxious. They all worked together seamlessly, and rather quickly to figure out why I was having abdominal pain. I was checked in, and discharged within two-in-a half hours. It was the best ER visit I'd ever experienced.

1/16/24: By far, this is the WORSE ER I've ever had to come to. My fiance is having a medical…read moreemergency. He mustered up enough energy to drive himself here but couldn't get out of the car. He was stuck in extreme pain in the drivers seat, so he called 911 from right outside the ER entrance. The fire truck got here & then the ER nurse from hell came out & basically said she was sorry that they "wasted their time" coming to help him, but she could take it from there. WASTED their time??? Is she serious??? A little after this happened, I arrived to be with him. I went through security only to be met bet that long line wrapped around trying to check in. Before I could even check in, I saw my fiancé being wheeled out of the back to sit in the lobby in extreme pain. They had already taken his vitals and did an EKG by then. They were extremely disorganized & was putting each patient through the same routine tests just to throw them to wait in agony in the lobby. When I tell you that I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone, I truly did. The staff were rude AF...every single patient waiting in the lobby had IV's and were just sitting around looking lifeless...it was an extremely weird experience. THEN, after about 35 min of me sitting with him in the lobby, the nurse from hell came to kick me out stating that they were over capacity and patients couldn't have "visitors" wait with them in the lobby. I told her how far I had driven to get there. She didn't care. She said that once he got a room, I could come back. So, I went outside in the freezing cold to sit in my car for about 35-40 more min. Finally, he calls me and tells me which room he was in. PA Chad was nice. He listened and ordered a million tests. That's exactly what I wanted. Nurse Lauren was funny and very easy to talk to. She told my fiancé that the nurse from hell was from upstate NY & has been reprimanded before for her nasty attitude. Clearly, that doesn't matter because she still works here & has absolutely ZERO empathy & is extremely insensitive. She needs to find a new line of work AWAY from people. I can see why she purposely wears her name tag facing her so that we can't see her name to report her. It's ok because I have her picture & will be reporting her behavior from today. The triage room was dirty & so was the air "purifier". Dust on top of dust on top of dust on that thing. What is it purifying exactly? I felt sick just looking at it. The waiting room is disgusting as well. This lady brought her urine cup from the restroom to her seat and sat it down DIRECTLY on the seat next to her with no paper towel covering it or anything. The cup was wet. So, you know what that means. People are nasty. The staff is nasty. I'd never recommend anyone come here. I've been waiting for 3 hours now & he was supposed to be taken back for a CT scan 45 minutes ago, but we are back in the lobby waiting because they supposedly had to "reboot" the machine. Wtf??? I'm literally beyond annoyed. I don't ever want to come back here again. I thought WakeMed on New Bern Ave. was bad, but this place takes the cake. A real life NIGHTMARE & I think they are about to kick "visitors" out of the lobby AGAIN. Here we go. AVOIIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!! ***UPDATE AS OF 11:00 pm: After 7+ hours of being here, they have finally decided to admit him. The dr said she requested a bed for him, but the nurse said he probably won't get one because they are over capacity. He will probably be in the ER the entire stay & it's so cold there that I had to place 5 blankets on top of him for just a bit of warmth. He will be getting tests done tomorrow. I hope he can go home. Again, AVOIDDDDDD this place.

Luckily, it is the same distance to High Point as it is to Greensboro. But there's a bunch more traffic in High Point tho. When you pull up, there's plenty of parking. Handicapped parking is right in front of the building. There's plenty of them available. There is no valet parking. I arrived early enough to park and grab the wheel chair. Everything is located in this one building. It is 3 levels. The Emergency Room is located to the left of the elevators past the pharmacy. There's no cafeteria. However there's fully stocked vending machines as well as a coffee machine. The hot drinks are $1. Who can beat that. We went to the 3rd floor to check Mommy in. It was super quick and they took us directly to the back. The advantage to being a smaller facility. Here we meet John. The most friendliest and funny RN/Med Tech. He made mom feel comfortable because this is a new facility. Older generation don't like change. John was cool. Down to earth. John turned us over to Tedora and she became our nurse for the duration of the day. Tedora is calm, caring and patient. Overall, we had a very smooth therapy session.

My nurse Erica made me feel so much better since the ER wouldn't let my husband come back due to not knowing anyone to watch our kids. Erica was so gentle and through with my care and explaining everything to me. When I went the second time to get my follow up bloodwork I have nurse Kevin who did my blood and got it the first time and luckily he got my blood before it blew. Meaning I owed nothing, they had been paid. A few weeks later I get another bill and we go through the same vicious cycle of proving that they have already been paid, they apologize and say it's resolved only it's not. It's aggravating and unsettling to constantly be given a false sense of relief that everything is squared away to find out they lied again. Billing really needs to get its shit together. Care itself is decent but the staff needs educated on their rights and responsibilities in regard to service animals. They respected mine but claimed to have never seen a service dog behave so well then go on to describe their inappropriate and sometimes dangerous experience with other service animals. They don't know their rights and how to protect themselves and their patients. If the service dog violates the rights of the hospital or its patients then it becomes the right and the responsibility of the hospital to have the animal removed. Wait times can be long, they seem in no hurry. They are friendly but way too relaxed for an emergency room.
