This review is for the heart part of Rex Raleigh. After a week's stay here, I am so impressed with the level of care and professionalism of all staff members on the 8th floor. Wow, what a nice clean facility that looks more like a nice hotel rather than a hospital! Big rooms, nice furniture, big baths...and many places for families to gather . The drink station was very much appreciated by both the patient and myself. I have been in many hospitals in my day. Some for work, some as a patient and some as a visitor. The heart portion of Rex is by far the nicest of the all.

Visited UNC Rex Women's Center for notary work with adoption documents. Due to the sensitivity of visit, I did not photograph the family, the NICU or anything else. However; the staff I encountered were very polite and helpful. On Time Signing here for most of your notary needs in the greater RTP Unika B. & Co.

Injuries sustained after being assaulted by UNC Rex "security guards" after I called them for help.

While spending 6 days in ICU is not an experience anyone wants, the staff was outstanding and care excellent.

TERRIBLE PAIN RUNYON Tried one procedure that didn't work said there was nothing else he could do for me gave me opiates Jude carr PA. Saw him briefly after Dr Runyon left more opiates and ordered a MRI up until then they didn't know what was wrong with me! I went to Drl Liu. I had researched online and found lots of other procedures I asked her if I could get an epidural and got one right away only got real results from her Take away: Don't wait in pain so long change doctors I had my spinal fusion procedure in August and found Dr Liu in January I had almost given up I asked her to do a procedure that I had found online an epidural and she did it right away and I'm waiting for it to kick in after months of extreme pain. I didn't have any pain before the surgery surgeon was doctor Crutcher If you're not getting results search online that's how I found the epidural Jude Carr just kind of brushed it off. Dr Liu was outstanding she gave me my epidural immediately Be your own advocate!

Dr. Chris Brown - I and my mother concur with his out of state patients who were in the waiting room - he is a miracle worker. He literally changes your life from one of misery and depression to one that is mobile, active, joyous and forward thinking. If you ask 10 MD's who they would send their parent to for spinal issues, they would all say Chris Brown. Karen weaver

Had to get an MRI here…read more My appointment was at 7am on a Sunday morning, I was told to arrive 30min before. I arrived at 6.30am and the doors were still locked. I stood outside with another patient and the security guard on duty. I Wear a Dexcom G7 CGM for Type 1 diabetes, I didn't find until it was time to go into the room for the MRI that I would have to remove my CGM sensor to get the MRI. I should have been messaged through the my chart portal not to wear the Dexcom G7 CGM, these sensors cost money and I had to trash a brand new one. What's the point of filling out online check in days before if they're not going to communicate the simplest things. The MRI took about 20Min

I was told I would walk 4 hours after my spine surgery. I was awake at noon after surgery and by 7…read morep.m., and several requests to walk, nothing happened until I texted my Doctor at 9:00 p.m. THEN I WAS WALKED Their Posh Care 8-part video on what to expect before and after the surgery was NO stars. They showed a couple receiving packets of information and how much information would happen. I had a few phone interviews but no paper instructions or an email with instructions they may have given me by phone. My Doctor called the night before making sure I had not taken certain meds. I told him I didn't know I shouldn't have taken the meds I did. I told him I had been called, but no physical information was given or sent. The video shows people getting PACKETS AND SPEAKING PERSONALLY. This is inexcusable. This is serious surgery...not a tonsillectomy. I went to the hospital a day before the surgery because I needed to make sure I had a caseworker, as there was no one at my home for almost a week after surgery so there was no care aid. My insurance pays for 20 days of facility care. I never saw a caseworker. The caseworker called minutes before my Doctor walked in to discharge me. I left with my son to their family home where there was no bed on the first floor. After spine surgery, you cannot go up a flight of stairs. I SLEPT ON A COUCH FOR THE FIRST TWO NIGHTS until I chose to go home where there was at least a bed, but no home help. For whatever reason, after I was home for a week, I felt like I was buckling after I got out of bed one morning, and had a dresser to grab and stabilize. After that, I ordered a recliner to sleep in. I have been sleeping in a recliner for over a week because I fear getting in and out of bed. I even worked with the Occupational therapist on this and showed her how I was getting in and out. The problem is BOTH LEGS DO NOT SHIFT TOGETHER. I was stressing my back getting in and out of bed. I remained challenged to get in and out of my bed and there had been no videos on how to do that. Just verbal instructions. There definitely should be some care videos!!! Here is one from Nebraska Spine that might serve Duke well. Tutorial videos getting in and out of a car, and bed would be brilliant. How to get in a car https://youtu.be/IoyCK-mz5RE?si=fl2QXi-GnE-sXVX8 In and out of bed https://youtu.be/gWys8QnClbk?si=a23ayVPbwKv8fYJ1 After I returned home there was a survey I sent a review and received a feeble apology. Apologies do not cover how serious this is. I would NEVER WANT ANYONE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I WENT THROUGH. I would give a few of the nurses a solid 5, but the shift that was supposed to walk me, and the nurse that did walk me that night, didn't have the bedside presence and concern the others did. I am now 5 weeks out and am beginning to search on YouTube to see how to manage my pain!!!! Thanksgiving was awful, and that is what has precipitated this email. I was told I could drive at my three-week check, but I have found that I pay a price for driving and doing too much in a day. The problem is, "what" is too much. It's trial and error. Most of these posts are from several years back. This review reflects only the hospital. I feel that Duke should make sure patients get the care they propose. Their 8 mods do not represent my experience.
