Unfortunately, the billing department provides poor service. I have twice been charged during a well visit for services that have been previously mentioned in other appointments. When I spoke to the billing department they said that I could not discuss anything that was a new illness during a well check up. I told them that I did not do this and they said that I must have brought up things other than what was allowed during my well checkup. I called Blue Cross and they told me that the office was improperly coding the visit and this should not have occurred. They do not answer the phone and they do not return calls if you leave a voicemail. If you happen to get someone to actually answer the phone, you will learn very quickly that you calling is a problem for them and they will then forward you and ask you to leave another voicemail. They do not care and you will actually hear that sentiment in their voice, clearly. It won't matter if you're cordial in every single encounter or how mannerly you behave in general. They simply do not care about resolving even the most simplistic of administrative/insurance issues. You will spend weeks battling and agonizing before you get a return call, if one ever actually does come. His office didn't bill my procedure correctly; they used my member ID but not the correct insurance. So when the anesthesiologist billed my insurance company, said company had no filing about a colonoscopy procedure actually occurring. So my insurance sees only that I had some anesthesiology services on a certain date. That alone is a $600 bill that only $108 of which was covered because there was no procedure tied to it. If my insurance company had received the billing for the actually colonoscopy along with the anesthesiology, all of it would have been covered at 1000%. My procedure was literally 7 months ago and I have fought and battled with Dr Vernon's office/billing staff. I'm now about to have to pay $492 for the anesthesiology or face being sent to collections, all because Dr Vernon's office didn't file with my insurance prior to the anesthesiologist filing. I know I gave him the correct insurance info and the proof is in the fact that the anesthesiologist successfully filed their portion of the claim. I will NEVER return to this office and whenever the subject of gastro issues/routine colonoscopy comes up in conversation, I will do everything I can to warn folks about what they'll likely face should they choose Dr Vernon. I will also be warning my PCP that he is destroying his own credibility with every referral he makes to Dr Vernon.

I called the office and left a message about how I was feeling and within 5 minutes my phone rang. MY PHONE RANG!@!! It was Dr. Tang, the best MD on the planet. I had an appointment the next day and she tweaked a med and now I am fine. This wasn't the first time she called me over something. Once she called me on her way home from her car and she sat in her garage for 5 minutes until we finished!. Okay, people, when is the last time you had a doctor call you at home?????? WHEN??? I have no idea if she is accepting new patients but if you are looking for a practitioner, ask if there is a waiting list and GET ON IT!!

After that, a coordinator will contact you to schedule. They do not offer an electronic version of the documents that are required. Requiring patients to make two physical visits to the clinic during standard business hours before being able to schedule an appointment is an unreasonable hoop to jump through for access to care. I can't comment on the quality of care that may or may not be provided by the team at this office once you are an established patient. My rating is based solely on the practice having a policy that limits patient access to healthcare.
