Only giving one star so I can post this. My primary care md at Garner is Jessica O'Neill who is superb. I have also been seen by Dr. Ennis when Dr O'Neill is not available and she is excellent as well. However, because they are both excellent physicians, it's almost impossible to see either one on short notice. Unfortunately for us, the patients, we then get subjected to the likes of Dr. Pleasant. I usually won't write an unfavorable review. I'm more apt to write nothing as opposed to writing something negative. However, my experience with Dr. Pleasant was so negative and such a complete waste of my time, that I have found a new PCP with WakeMed. I'm incredibly disappointed that Dr. O'Neill will no longer be my PCP and I will not see Dr. Ennis any longer, but the thought of EVER AGAIN having to interact with Dr. Pleasant is enough to have forced me to go through the hassle of finding a new PCP and wait months for my first appointment. Dr. Pleasant was rude, he spoke over me, and he has the worst 'bedside manner ' I have ever encountered. I checked and he spent FOUR minutes in the exam room with me. The medical issue that prompted me to make the appointment was not resolved, and he was completely dismissive of my symptoms and my concerns. The office staff at GFP is conscientious, professional and pleasant. Drs. O'Neill and Ennis are caring, knowledgeable, and professional. They have excellent listening skills and are an asset to GFP. I am sorry that I will not see either of them again, but it's necessary because I wish never to see that other buffoon again. read more

I have been going here for longer than I can remember. My first doctor retired during Covid. His replacement, Dr Alex Roy, is a fellow Veteran and has always been there to help & advise with my health needs. The nurses and staff have been helpful and friendly. Very professional. read more

My primary care physician wasn't even a doctor. She was a nurse and I never got bloodwork, Pap smears, etc done for a simple physical! Like what's the point of a physical if you are just gonna check my weight as if I don't have a scale at home and check my blood pressure n stuff. Then whenever you call the front desk, they just sound like they do not want to be bothered and give every excuse as to why you should try this or that before coming in as if they are paying for my doctors visit. After telling a friends mom she told me this place was infamous for doing a horrible job so hopefully someone will read this review and go somewhere else. I now go to the doctors office beside the ob/gyn run by Wake Med in holly Springs. read more

My Doctor is Dr. Winkel. I have been with her for over 15 years, a well established patient. I've always been pleased with her care but was very hurt when she didn't come check me out when I was in the hospital for emergency heart surgery. I almost died and was in the hospital for months. Then I go in for my apt. the other day and they tell me I couldn't see her without paying $100.00 copay. I'm on disability and don't work. I didn't have the money at that time. It's not like they didn't have all my information. So I had to leave. You watch, they will probably send me an invoice for the missed apt. read more

Called in to get an appointment for prostate issues I've been having. The triage associate who booked me asked me very specific questions on what was going on. This was my first visit and I told them I had no preference for a doctor. I was booked with a doctor who told me she wasn't comfortable talking about prostate issues, and told me it was impossible for me to be having issues due to my age, even though I have a family history of the condition going back several generations. In the end I was referred out and gained absolutely nothing from the experience. I'll be going elsewhere. read more

Garner Family Practice has been my primary care provider for over 25 years. I've had several main doctors over the years and seen almost every doctor in their stable, but my favorite is my current PCP, Dr. Erin Ennis. Dr. Ennis is the most human and personally engaging doctor I've ever had. She looks me in the eye, listens to what I say, and doesn't rush through our appointments. She never belittles my concerns or my questions, but takes me and my questions seriously. She demonstrates absolute professionalism with no sacrifice of humanity. She treats me like a person, not a collection of conditions. She also keep current and sharp on medical issues. She frequently mentions some journal articles she's read that might affect a condition, treatment, or medication I'm taking. She's the whole package. I can't recommend her highly enough. The practice has a dozen or so doctors and one or two FNPs or PAs, along with a host of support staff. Most folks are very cordial and helpful, but you'll also find the occasional sourpuss. I ignore them, and focus on the people there who go out of their way to be nice. read more

When I arrive for my appointments, I am always seen on time. I love Dr. Winkel, she is awesome and really cares about my well-being. Obviously nobody loves having blood drawn but the nurses did it extremely well at this location. Highly recommend. read more

BE careful. Please read the disclaimer. I don't know if Garner Family Practice is the only one that does this but I was told when I came in for my physical and for my labs that they would be covered by insurance and that I would have no co-payment. So I left the office thinking all is well. But I got a message stating that I owed $40.00 for the visit. I called Garner Family Practice and they stated that I was charged because the DR and I discussed something outside of the appointment being a physical. I had no idea what it was that turned my visit from a physical to and office visit. I don't know what topic it was but the disclaimer states that there are somethings that you cannot discuss during a physical, if you do than the Dr. can charge you as a visit. I don't like sneaky stuff. I will not be returning to this practice. That may be good for some other person, but not me. I know what to look for and ask whomever I chose as a primary doctor. I've been a patient of Dr. Brammer for many years now and he and all the front and back office staff are very easy to work with. Dr. Brammer is professional and easy to talk to. We are very fortunate in the RDU area to have access to many healthcare options - with that being said, I wanted Garner Family Practice to know they are doing a great job!! read more
