What a mess Wake Radiology has become! I have had three unsucessful appointments in the last 3 months. The first two were at the Cary location. First one was a power outage that had happened early in the morning. My appointment was at 3pm. They did't expect to get power back until the next day. When I arrived after almost an hour ride I was greated with " Nobody called to tell you?" No nobody called to tell me or I wouldn't have driven almost an hour to get here and paid for a sitter. The second was at the same location where the radiologist insisted on contrast which I am highly allergic to even though my Dr. had ordered it without contrast. The radiologist refused to do it without contrast. Corporate did call me later that afternoon and apologized. Another two hours of my time wasted including wasted gas and sitter money. The third time was at the new location at 120 Banks Dr. in Chapel Hill. Another hour drive to get there and I arrive and the woman at the desk says " Didn't they call and cancel your appointment?? We don't do that type of imaging here". Altogether I wasted six hours of my time, at least $40 in gas and almost $100 for the sitter. read more

(Merton Drive) Took my wife who'd had recent (this past month) spinal surgery - she uses a walker. After two hours she hobbled out on her own (no one even bothered to assist her). And in the car broke down crying. She'd told the techs about her surgery and how they were to roll her gently on the table. Instead the "picked her up - dumped her on the table - and left her there for 30 minutes". Which might easily have damaged her surgical site. We are looking into additional legal measures at this point. You are forewarned. read more

I was able to make an appointment within a few days due to my flexible schedule. I called on a Monday and had my annual mammogram on Thursday morning. I was sent an easy to follow link to preregister as required. Typical questions regarding Covid, medical history and insurance coverage. They accept Cigna if you're wondering. Location is conveniently right of Lake Boone Trail near Rex Hospital. Plenty of safe parking spaces in their dedicated lot. I arrived 15 minutes early, was given a medical grade mask instead of the cloth one I wore in. Hand sanitizer available in waiting room. Chairs are somewhat spread out but few people in waiting room. I was called back on time as scheduled and was finished within five minutes! Painless, quick and 3D is a powerful tool for detecting changes in breast tissue. This was the best mammogram experience I've ever had and due to a family history I have has an annual mammogram for the past 30 years. Thank you Wake Radiology I'll be back next November! read more

Bad customer service. I came at 4:30 when they close at five and they said they would not see me. If someone works until 5 they need to stay open until 5 or until the last patient is done. Very lazy. read more

oh DEAR! My beloved Wake Radiology has joined the UNC monster ( this has nothing to do with sports rivalries --I do not care about that ) . In my opinion UNC is ruining the good practices in Raleigh .Rex Urgent Care WAS exemplary in offering labs not available at other UCs ---now there is no difference .There is NO advantage to going to a Rex UC.Other practices I attend have I had issues post merger with UNC ....Wake Radiology has always been fantastic in its combination of exceptional M.D.s with superior staff morale .Now its lost its individuality . Very nice staff. Wait was just a few minutes. However, when my Doctor received the report, it was just that. A written report and NO ultrasound photos. So, before my Doctors appointment, I went back to the Wake Radiology office and was given a CD of images to take to my Doctor. I knew when I saw a CD that I'd have a problem. My Doctor had nothing to play the CD to read the images, as I'm sure other Doctors can't do either since computers don't have disc players anymore and most Doctors offices now use tablets. My Doctor needed an electronic file emailed or the file on a thumb drive (usb drive). Wake Radiology records department said they don't that. So, I had to get another ultrasound done at my Doctors office. The first ultrasound at Wake Radiology was a waste of my time and even though it was covered by insurance, it's still a waste of money. read more

Phone staff is incredibly rude and not particularly interested in helping you at all. I spoke with two separate women and left the call feeling frustrated and not helped at all. read more

They withheld information stating "it is not their policy" and told me it was common sense. Which is interesting because they also said they have multiple complaints about this and are lookin into the policy because all other healthcare offices provide the information. read more

Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else! This office is disrespectful, not helpful at all, used scare tactics with me, billed me incorrectly... the list goes on and on. I encourage everyone to think twice before working with this office. It's sad that in a field where people are suppose to be helping others, Wake Radiology has it backwards. I hope this post encourages them to change their ways and do right by others. read more

I went there to ask for copies of my X-rays. They offered a CD. I said this technology is obsolete, most modern technology cannot read CDs (and since I paid for my medical X-rays I have the right to have this information). They told me that they do not do "films" anymore. I never asked for a "film". If they can burn a CD, that means that they have an electronic file, could they please either send me an email of the electronic files or print them out? No, apparently they did not understand. They even called the "manager", etc, etc. Finally, they agreed to email the X-ray files, but that was too much to expect: they emailed the report (3 times), which I already had, and no copy of the X-rays. Then I tried phoning, no one bothered to answer, I waited forever. The staff was highly incompetent, extremely rude, uncooperative, and rather vicious. I will never come back, they deserve negative points in a review. read more
