Very busy office. 2nd time here for X-rays. This office previously got me in and out quickly (around 30 minutes total) so it's convenient enough to schedule appointments during the middle of my workday. Today the turnaround time was different. Very slow process. People who came after me were called ahead of me. (perhaps a different type of X-ray?) The total wait time of around 27 minutes to get called back. The time it took to change and complete the X-rays was less than 13 minutes, so it was very quick once in the back. Wait time on this visit was not the best. I would like this office to normalize e-forms instead of paper and pens. I would also like to see the same tech without having to ask. Besides that, the technicians are always nice and accommodating. My technician Laura did a great job making sure I was comfortable during my X-rays. I appreciated this! read more

I went in on 11/25 for an xray and we still do not have results. The doctor's office is waiting as well. Today is 12/7 and this is not acceptable. I need an injection but we need these test results to be able to perform the injection. I am in a lot of pain and this is just wrong! Will never go back to see Raleigh Radiology! I am so disappointed in my experience with Raleigh Radiology, they have screwed me over financially despite my continued efforts to work something out. I walked away in July with an unexpected bill (post insurance). I began getting collection notices within 2 weeks of receiving the actual MRI. Along with weekly text reminding me about my bill - I know!! I appealed my to insurance and applied for financial assistance through Raleigh radiology- both were denied. The worst part was today when I called their billing department and asked if I could do a longer payment plan than offered online and they said no. I asked them to please work with me as I am willing to pay my full bill, but needed lower monthly payments, and they wouldn't work with me. I then asked if I called in monthly and made payments if that would be okay... no again! They said I'd be going to collections EVEN if I am making monthly payments. I told them if this went to collections I'd be able to negotiate with them and only pay a portion of the total bill. Then they'd be getting cents on the dollar of that partial amount - they still said no!! I offered over and over again to pay my full bill, just asking for a bit of flexibility, and they blatantly said they would rather send my bill to collections than allow me a longer payment plan that would ensure they get the total amount owed. I've never met a provider that 1. Doesn't care about its patients this much, 2. Would rather get cents on the dollar of the owed amount than just give a bit of leeway to get all of what's owed. They act as if this was an expense that was taken on by choice. If you're looking to be screwed over by a medical bill you didn't choose to take on- this is the place to go!! read more

My doctor ordered a breast ultrasound and a mammogram. They did not conduct the ultrasound after there being concerns of a possible lump. They concluded no need to do the ultrasound after doing another mammogram. There is no harm in being extra careful when th an order is already in hand. Medical reports are focusing more on how hard it is to detect cancer when women have very dense breast. I won't return to the location off Lake Boone. Trail, and definitely not returning for a mammogram! My doctor has determined I have options at Duke due to having dense breast that will be a relief in seeing if there are any concerns! read more

I've been to Raleigh Radiology on numerous occasions for various reasons over the years and have always had a good experience until today. I did all the preregistration online to help speed up the whole check in process when I got there. I was asked to be there 15 minutes prior to my appointment. I was. Got there, was checked in immediately and sat down and waited to be called. After waiting an hour, and seeing multiple people being called back, who checked in after me, I finally inquired as to what the issue was and was told that I was all set By the young lady who checked me in. Her counterpart, however, said he would go to the back to see what was going on. He came out, didn't say anything to me, but went back behind the registration counter and started questioning the others and saying he was at lunch when I checked in That was a sure sign to me that they had screwed something up at registration. He eventually came out from behind the registration desk to tell me they would be with me shortly. When I was finally called back by the radiology tech, I was informed that my registration had not been completed, which was the reason for the delay. He apologized which is great and I'm appreciative. However , instead of trying to cover her mistake by saying everything was ok the front desk person should have been responsible enough to admit her wrong and apologize, but the fact that she kept insisting everything was fine is an issue for me. I understand that people make mistakes, but be man or woman enough to own up to your mistakes instead of lying to my face and saying everything is fine when you know it wasn't. read more

Worst experience ever with billing. I was billed for an x-ray that was never sent to my insurance. I called my insurance who got Raleigh Radiology on the phone and they said they would take care of it. 2 months later, I get a bill from a collections agency! I called Raleigh Radiology again and they told me they can't process because my insurance changed since the procedure and they were not willing to help. Today I did the same thing again with my insurance. We'll see in 10 days if this is resolved or if they mess it up again. If I could give zero stars I would. It took me 3 weeks to get an appointment for this MRI. I was scheduled at the Holly Springs location. After I arrived, I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time to be taken back. I was taken into a mobile unit outside of the building. The MRI I was getting required contrast. The tech, Scott, blew both of my veins. I honestly felt something wasn't right from the beginning and was uncomfortable with what he was doing from the start. He told me I had a weak vein. I have never been told I had weak veins and have had blood drawn numerous times as well as donated blood many times. He then proceeded to try my other arm. He could not fit between the table and the cabinet, so he was trying to do it from behind me. I felt intense pain and I asked him was he was doing. He said he blew the vein in that arm as well. After speaking with the staff, this happens quite a bit with Scott, and I asked why is he able to work there and I was told they ask themselves that all the time. On top of that his bedside manner wasn't great. He had a look of "oh I really messed up" when this happened. I just don't understand how he has this job. read more

I was referred to Raleigh Radiology in Apex, for an ultrasound. I paid upfront (they called me ahead of time), based on my insurance - all good. A few weeks later got another bill in the mail for twice as much. I looked into the "codes" they used to bill me, and there were several on there that made NO sense. I tried to contest the bill over the phone, but got the run around. Billing specialists were super rude. I was then told a few phone calls later, that all bills have to be contested via email. I sent the email on 3/18 and on 4/9 I got a phone call from a collections agency, saying Raleigh Radiology had sent me to collections. No response to my original email. Going to have to get legal involved now... I will NEVER go back for any services. read more

This place really needs a management and customer service overhaul. The receptionists at the front desk are just terrible. The majority of them are unprofessional and just seems as if there 10 other places they'd rather be. I had an appointment for a mammogram this morning and I could do without ever speaking to Fran (one of the front desk folks) ever again. I get that it's early in the morning (7:30 appointment), but at the very least, I expect professionalism. I almost feel conflicted with this review as the nurses and technicians in the back are so great, but the front end area and intake / administration process is just a mess. read more

Front desk was the worst experience I have ever had at a medical office. Acted as if they couldn't be bothered with the patients trying to check in especially if they had a question. I was accompanying my 18 yo son for a test and the person who made the appointment told him to be sure to ask for parental consent forms because they wouldn't automatically be given to him. So he did and the attendant at the desk had already put one on the clipboard she handed him and talked to him like he was an idiot for asking. A little compassion towards people coming in for testing of a possibly difficult situation would go a long way. We'll ask for other providers next time our doctor refers us for imaging. read more

Horrible customer service from their billing dept. Have been trying to reach them for three weeks! they never answer their phone, they ask if you'd like a call back. Having answered yes and left my request for a call back at least 4 times, never have I received a call! They obviously learned their customer service practices from cablevision. When I called them to request the result, I was told there was a problem in sending out the report letters and I should be receiving it soon. They sent me a bill for $1,878 in July for two tests done on May 19, 2023. I have excellent insurance and my doctor has a pre-authorization number for the procedures. I posted two separate messages on their portal regarding the bill, but they never responded. When I called my insurance, they told me that Raleigh Radiology never billed them for any procedures done on May 19, 2023. And they confirmed that RR Clayton office (NC) is in their approved network. I do not know if they are just inefficient or trying to double-dip. I will never use Raleigh Radiology again in the future. read more

I visited Raleigh Radiology for a MRI and was not offered ear plugs or headphones. When I asked due the noise, I was told, "We will play music for you." It was a horrible experience and I feel my ears were damaged. When I told my doctor of my experience, she suggested Wake Radiology. The first thing I asked was, "Will I be able to have ear plugs?" The attendant said, "Absolutely, we are required by law." I will have to put in my formal complaint. read more

The office was busy yet I was helped cheerfully in just two minutes and went to Registration almost immediately after that. The Mammography waiting areas are clean and comfortable (and lots of Keurig coffee choices!) There are a lot of rooms/technicians so the waiting was minimal. My tech Sarah was delightful. She clearly is a pro. She made it as streamlined as possible and explained everything as she did it. Mammograms aren't fun and they are physically awkward but she was aware and made it better than I've ever had. Very quick and focused. I was in and out of the office on Blue Ridge in 25 minutes. Overall this was an efficient, respectful process. read more

Had an appt for my son at 3:45. Arrived 3:20. Checked in given forms that took less than five minutes. Called back to billing in less than 10 minutes which took less than 5 minutes. Was called back for imaging at 3:40 was done by 3:45. Waited for CD with imaging in lobby for another 5 minutes. Unless the bill is crazy high it doesn't get much more efficient than this. read more

BEWARE!!! I echo other reviewers, the Doctors and staff were great, but dealing with the billing department was a nightmare. I was seen at Raleigh Radiology for a procedure in the fall of 2020. One of the dates of service was 9/11/2020. Raleigh Radiology submitted that bill to my insurance company and then sent me a bill for my co-pay. They claim that they mailed me these bills on 9/30/2020 and again the next day on 10/1/2020. I received one of them (I do not remember having received two) and when I was in the office for a follow up appointment on 10/16/2020, I asked if I could just pay the bill in person vs. mailing them a check or getting online to pay the bill. They said yes, I paid and I believed that the bill was resolved. Whoever accepted my payment at Raleigh Radiology made an error that day, she did not apply it to the amount due and Raleigh Radiology subsequently turned me over to collections. I received the notice from the collection agency, and I called Raleigh Radiology on 2/3/2021. The person that I spoke with found the error, she said that she applied the credit to the "delinquent" bill. She also said that she would notify the collection agency that my information was sent to them in error and that I would receive a letter from the collection agency that the matter was resolved. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN!!! Yesterday, I was back on the phone with the billing department at Raleigh Radiology and this time, the person said that she called the collection agency directly and the collection agency never received an e-mail about the error. Good luck getting your $50 back if you paid for the 3-D mammogram and your insurance pays for it. You'll get a shady looking letter that asks for your credit card information--looked like a scam to me. Then if you don't respond, they send your money to the state as unclaimed property. First, why can't they check if your insurance company pays for the 3-D before they charge you? Or why can't they bill you if your insurance company doesn't pay for it? Why can't they send your refund as a check, needing to put it back on your credit card seems more like a convenience for them. It certainly wasn't for me! One star to the billing/insurance folks. It needs to be part of the service. And while I'm ranting--plan on a long wait, even for something as routine as a mammogram. Long defined as up to 40 minutes. read more

Check-in process was super smooth but during appointment felt condescended to - repeatedly defaulting to the same explanations as if reading from a script rather than really listening to my questions. No conversation surrounding cost besides warning me repeatedly what insurance wouldn't cover/did not go over my options/out of pocket. Will definitely seek out second opinion. read more
