I ended up upgrading to a full Body Scan and was very pleased with my results, all because of my FAMILY history. My results came back showing that I had osteoporosis of my left hip, Diverticulosis, and a hiantle hernia. I was very nervous, expecting to read the C word, or I had calcium built up in my heart because heart, cancer, and a lot of other health problems run in my FAMILY, so with my results. Thanksgiving Season is upon us and I'm so very thankful that I met Frankie King, Craft Sales Associate. I met King at the recent NC State Fair and engaged him in conversation about early detection. Instantly, I was inspired and agreed to sign up for their $79 limited time promotion for a heart/lung scan combo. The consultation was insightful and educational. Going into this, I was nervous as to what might show up on the scan because of what I knew in my family medical history. I was impressed by the coronary arterial diagram display in the hallway that was utilized during the presentation. I learned that calcium deposits lead to plaque build-up which can lead to heart attack. Furthermore, a good calcium deposit score ranges from 0 to 400. A score that exceeds 400 signals that a closer examination would be required by one's primary care physician. The key is early detection. I was in the right place at the right time. The scanning process was very simple and lasted no more than a few minutes. My results were received just before 7-days and it came in the form of a downloadable link. I'm pleased to say that at 47 with a family history of heart and pulmonary disease my heart calcium score was zero and my lungs were virtually fine. I'd never seen an ultrasound image of my own heart and lungs before. It was cool to see! My husband and I came into a beautiful office waiting room and the flat screen tv gave us a brief presentation of what to expect on our visit, that was super helpful. The Managing CEO happened to be present that day so we chatted with him and heard a history of the company, super helpful. We were greeted by Tom Johnson and he took time to explain with pictures what to expect on our visit; I am a visual person and that was extremely helpful. We were given the opportunity to get to know Tom and tell him about the two of us and also he shared his journey from GA to NC, we felt like we had met a lifetime friend, we didn't feel rushed and he was able to answer all of our questions. My husband & I had been referred by family members so we already had a brief understanding of what we wanted to accomplish. We ended up doing 2 scans, one full body and one heart and lung scan and we are now waiting for our scans to be read. I can only say that we are very happy that we chose to go this route because I had asked my local hospital and Doctor to do some of these same scans and it seemed to be a longer process than what I had wanted; so working with Craft Body Scan seemed to fulfill our goals at the time. My husband and I recently had full body scans at the Raleigh location. My doctor suggested that I have a CAC score done to determine if I needed to go on a statin for my high cholesterol level. After some research on the internet, I decided on Craft Body Scan. They were offering a special so my husband joined me. The initial health consultant was very thorough and answered all our questions. He helped us decide on the best plan to fit our needs. Our results came in about a week and although my score was normal, my husbands score showed some calcium in his arteries that he had no idea was there. I am so thankful that we had these scans done. Health Consultant) was very detailed on the reasons for obtaining a full scan, the types of information collected, and the benefits of further scans.
