Wow. Just WOW. I actually hate to write a review because this place is a freaking gem but I need to boost them. Wake Cup Coffee is phenomenal. Like one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in a long time. Served on a delicious pretzel bun with perfectly cooked bacon and melty cheese. The prices are just perfect. I don't feel like I'm spending a fortune here which makes me want to constantly return. The quality of the food is unreal. Haven't been to a place in a long time that serves great quality food at their prices. They have delicious pastries, sandwiches, and breakfast sandwiches along with an array of delicious coffees and drinks to choose from. I absolutely love that they have to-go and to-stay options. More eco friendly to stay as they serve everything in real cups and plates. However, their to-go options have eco friendly packaging so that's pretty cool. The only downside of this place is that the parking suuuuuucks. Not their fault but other than that it's wonderful. Don't come here though because I want it all to myself. read more

We made a quick stop on the way to Boston. The place is very cute inside. They have lots of tables. There is also nice outdoor area available with tables. This is the Nicest little hidden surprise! I'm actually kind of mad I found out about their egg and cheese croissant - every time I have one, I immediately want another one (they're SO Good)! Nicely appointed space, if a bit...industrial/hospital feeling with too much white and tile, despite the encouraging quotations on the wall to help inspire your writer's block - whether on poetry or a business proposal...the resultant drawback is it feels a little...cold; BUT the owner seems to be solving this, with local art displays from time to time, AND, THE ESPECIALLY FABULOUS LIVE SINGING OF ROBIN!!! Wow! A professional level smooth voice with restrained power and a pleasant and expanding catalog. A humble slice of wonderful to go with afternoon cloud gazing or work. Again, unobtrusive and warming for the environment. A KEY add-on! The coffee is okay.. it used to be better, made better. I think the normal barista left. The pastries are good - especially the savory ones. I would recommend not getting the food to go because they always forget or don't include ingredients ... if you eat there they give you what you ordered. The steak and cheese sandwich is really good it comes with jalapeños .. onions. I would eat it every day if I could lol. Love the leek pastry ... the egg and cheese is bland. I like this place because I've been wanting a coffee shop near the Fairifeld metro train station. Sometimes it takes too long though. Just arrive early - and you can enjoy your commute with a nice brekkie and coffee. Not going to lie it's 100% expensive. I understand because of the location must cost a lot in rent - but $6 for a coffee ? That's the only thing that really turns me off. WOW! hands down the BEST BURGER in town!!! I had a burger craving today and was pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu of this delightful local gem coffee/breakfast/lunch spot, right next to the Fairfield Metro train station. The burger was juicy and grilled to perfection with cheese and toppings, on a quality bun. Came with a high quality green salad and house dressing. GENEROUS portions! There was much more salad than shows in the picture as it was under the burger. Mesclun greens, cukes, peppers, onion, carrots, tomatoes. This is such a refreshing change from the usual fare of fries that most burger joints serve. And leaves room for calories in other places... like dessert. read more

I had previously ordered in from these guys and after a very pleasant customer service experience with that I'd had it in the back of my head to check out their brick and mortar. I got the opportunity to briefly stop by this morning and I was instantly charmed. Sitting right outside the, I guess you'd call it the "arrvial" side of Fairfield Metro, the space welcomes you with a cute little astro turf lawn and several comfortable outdoor seating arrangements. I noted this as a great option for a little breakfast and trainspotting, I'll have to partake some morning soon. The interior is surprisingly large, that is to say spacious but still fairly comfortable. There's a wide variety of seating options including a worktop bar, fireside conversation spot, etc. Whereas I didn't have the time to sit and absorb the ambiance I'd clock it as more comfortable than Shearwater, less than Las Vetas. That's all well and good but the five stars are merited by their service and their product. In one of my previous coffehouse reviews of GG & Joe I noted that the staff's constant personal conversation and general aimlessness were a major turn off-- Whereas with Wake-Cup my experience was exactly the opposite. The girls were friendly, alert, efficient and focused on the task at hand, despite being the same age range as the young staff at GG & Joe. They have clearly been better managed. And finally their product is very good. My personal rating for coffee quality, I admit, is too extreme to be fair and so accounting by what I imagine is the "average casual coffee drinker's" standards, the mud here is pretty darn good. A wee bit better than a good Starbucks. For me the profile is a bit bland when compared to its superiors like Shearwater and even Source out of Bridgeport but I make that comparison only to frame that this level of "third wave" coffee doesn't seem to be what they're aiming for. More like a classic donut shop done very well. And the pastry? Fuggeddabout it. The leek tart is so good I bought a second one for the woman behind me in line with whom I was discussing its addictive quality. I will say the aesthetics of the baked goods borders on institutional, I'd love to see some imperfections there. A more rustic handbaked look would go a long way to matching the incredible flavors. Good stuff all around, Wake-Cup gets a big recommend. read more

Lots to love about this new coffee shop in Fairfield at the train station. For one, it's next to Fairfield Metro where we've had a coffee wasteland since the station opened. (As in, if you build it, we will come.) This is my second time and I brought my husband with me. The lattes are delicious, so is something to eat called the "chocolate avalanche." They have pastries (sweet and savory), pretzels and some little gift items like caramel sauce and caramels. The interior is very cute with one long coffee bar, cool signage, a long table made from a tandem bike and several smaller tables. Outside, they have two seating areas - one shadier near the train platform and another in the sun protected by umbrellas. Our server (Jazz) was awesome. Quick, on it and kind. It's very clean. The latte cups and lids are 100% compostable. Pastry wrapper was brown bag (also not plastic). Go, go, go! read more

I cannot believe the experience at this coffee shop. Being a roastery, you'd think they care about coffee!?! I ordered a small flat white and got a 12oz barely luke warm drink that would have been extremely milky even for a latte. When asked, the person working the register explained to me that "their" flat white was like a latte but without foam. - So even more milk than a latte. The barista was clearly stressed and not trained whatever. They stuck the steam wand into the pitcher that was just standing on the counter and poured the milk into the drink in a huge gulp. I wished I would have just gotten a coffee at a Dunkin Donut. At least I would have payed an appropriate amount of money for lackluster quality. read more

A little hidden gem in Fairfield. The aroma of sweet coffee is sensed form the moment you pull into their parking lot. The croissant was nice and flaky, and their coffee was smooth and robust: As any latte should be. Staff is very kind and attentive, not to mention knowledgeable in their products. The aesthetics are very appealing, tables are nice and clean and condiments station is nicely stocked and clean. Very disappointing experience, especially considering our expectations given the glowing reviews. The service was extremely unfriendly. We were barely acknowledged and had to ask multiple times for the pastry we ordered. Everything was given in disposable containers even though we were eating there. They stop serving food at 2 despite being open until 6, but this is not clear anywhere on the website and is only in small print under the food specials menus. We were there at 1:56 and there was no offer of food they might still have (I ordered a cold sandwich), just an announcement the kitchen was closed. The pastry I got instead was ice cold despite being a savory pastry with spinach and feta, something I've never gotten cold. The latte I got also seemed to be made only with water--it was very thin with little flavor. Any one of these things could've been looked past, but the combo made the overall visit not great. read more

I've been a couple of times, and everything I've ordered-- Parmesan leek pastry and chocolate avalanche pastry were both flaky and full of flavor, and uniquely made omelette-- is absolutely wonderful. I don't like weak coffee, so I hesitantly tried their mochas... and it didn't disappoint! I've had it twice now, and each time it's been rich and flavorful. I brought home a cookie for my two kids to split, and they gave rave reviews; for a cookie, that's pretty awesome! There is ample outdoor seating, which feels comfortable, and their wide doors are open for good ventilation inside. Cancel your breakfast plans and head to Wake Cup Coffee. Tucked next to the NYC-bound train tracks is a cafe that offers exceptional breakfast items, breads and pastries. I got takeout over the summer and the omelettes were cooked and presented perfectly with my requested avocado slices arrayed nicely on top. I returned yesterday and after seeing an online tip, ordered the quesadilla. Wow!! This was the best quesadilla I've ever had. Seriously! The difference is that thin and crispy crepes take the place of tortillas, taking the cheesy dish to new heights. I should note that the quesadilla also has ham so if that's not your thing, let them know. I used to have a go-to breakfast sandwich, but this is my new favorite by far. The iced coffee is great, a nice complement to the quesadilla. I am definitely headed back. I know I want the quesadilla, but next time I want to try their signature pretzel buns, pastries and desserts. Also, the dining area is quite large with lots of tables spread out. When it's warmer, they have outdoor seating. Everyone was very helpful and my order didn't take too long. I recommend a trip to Wake Cup!! I know I will soon be a regular there. read more

This place is clean, comfortable, the staff is friendly and it's easily accessible from the train station. They have indoor and outdoor seating that is spaced out plenty so that you can enjoy your coffee without the stress of social distancing. My boyfriends coffee was so sour! If you like your coffee with a packet of sweet and sour sauce, be my guest. We have been to plenty of coffee places and this was not great at all. Somewhat convinced the 5 star reviews are fake. I got the iced matcha latte and it was just flavored milk. Won't be coming back here. Shame in such a great location.
