    Plate lunch

WagyuKushi is attached to Don Quijote on 801 Kaheka St, and they have made to order wagyu skewers or plates. I ordered a plate lunch and it came with a salad, two scoops of rice and sauces. The wagyu comes well done, but it is still tender. Their dipping sauce paired well with the meat. There are several benches for customers to buy and eat in front of DQ exterior as there are multiple vendors. Convenient parking nearby or walking distance from Ala Moana area.

Steak plate or Wagyu skewer? Well Wagyu of course!!!!! I heard people talking about this place and always wanted to go; well I finally did. You place an order and wait about 15-20 mins for skewers to be cooked. I have say that the birds next to the tables are getting pretty darn bold - they walk right by your feet and have no problem being close to you. As far as the wagyu skewers, it tasted fine. It is thinly cut squares of meat and they are skewered and cooked. They have a sauce on the side that gave it a sweet taste when you put the sauce on. It was a decent taste and will fill you up. As I said, it tasted fine and when I asked others what they thought, they said they enjoyed it. I said it was a little tough for wagyu and that's when they said "Oh I forgot it was wagyu.... oh maybe not that good for wagyu but fine as plain meat". That about sums it up. I did hear the cashier lady talk very bluntly to a patron - but they were nice to me.

Walked by WagyuKushi countless times heading into Don Quijote while always thinking, "ooo, that looks good" when seeing the skewers of tightly packed thinly sliced U.S. Wagyu Beef sizzling on the flat top grill (while also wondering how each skewer is neatly packed in a long rectangular prism shape!). This place is just outside of Don Quijote at the food court. Menu is simple: 1 skewer for $5.99, 2 for $10.99 (as a plate lunch with rice & salad, $13.99), 5 for $24.99, and 10 for $45.99. Everything is made to order, so be prepared to wait a bit, and they a limited amount each day. Lady at the front was really nice. The sitting area at the food court is outside, windy and dusty, maybe smelly, and not as clean, but good enough. As for the skewer...ummm, it needed a bit more salt and pepper. The sauce was good and helped to add taste. The meat was unsurprisingly lean, slightly tough and dry, and overcooked. It did have a nice char and crispy side though. Overall, it wasn't too bad. Just needed more taste and less cooking time. It's a nice alternative if you ONLY want meat and no carbs. Would I get this again? Sure! I'll request more salt and pepper!

Holy moly smokes. The best plate lunch by far , meats is just melts in your mouth, the greens are so good too. The special sauce makes this great . Very kind staff , this is not an eat inside restaurant, there's tables out side.

10000000/10!! One of my favorite meals on the island. Thank you to my sister for the recommendation. No line but took some time for the food to cook. Fresh & made to order. The meat was so flavorful, juicy, tender. Omg, melt in your mouth!! It also came with a side salad + rice. The salad sauce was good. I wasn't a fan of the wasabi sauce that it came with. We ordered a few in which they charged for but didn't even use them. But overall everything was delicious!! If you like spicy, enhance the flavor by buying some Thai chili oil from the Thai spot next door. Definitely a hidden gem & would recommend this place 1000xs over. Plenty of parking in the lot shared with other businesses. Make sure you grab a bite before going shopping. You know what they say about shopping on an empty stomach!

    Bill for 2 skewers.

I bought 2 skewers and the cashier said 10 minutes. I was irritated when they called my number 20 mins later but it was pretty delicious and grilled on point. Hangriness disappeared. Each skewer has a substantial amount of beef.

WagyuKushi is my treat every time I did grocery shopping at Don Quijote. When I say every time I rarely skip it. I mean why, they are the perfect bites to grab for a quick eats. I love how friendly those Filipinas staffs as well. When they see me they smile and greeted me. Makes me wanna come back for more wagyu skewers too. As much as I love this place, be in mind that this is not the most perfect wagyu skewers you can have. Sometimes in one skewer there's more fat than lean ones. So why I keep coming back? IMO, their marination is stable and I find it pretty good. Savory and tasty. I love the balance of sweetness and saltiness on it. One happy belly every bite at the open ambiance food court. One wagyu skewers at a time.

Still super delicious! They have family pack now, 5 sticks for $24.99 so around $5 each. Make sure you order ahead of time. On a weekday morning it took about 20 mins for my order. A lot of retirees eat here early in the morning too. Also, the charge comes through as Don Quijote kaheka and it's billed as groceries, not restaurants, if you care about which credit card to use.

Yesterday I got to try the Wagyu Kushi Plate Lunch and it was tasty. Very convenient and pleasant service.

Yes, it does live up to the hype i feel! First off, staff is nice. The seating area/ambiance is shared outside seating. The wagyu is sooooo soft... the presentation is thin thin slices that's like stacked. But the pieces just melt in your mouth! Imagine like croissants have flakes, but it being wagyu! It was nicely seasoned with maybe just salt. The cut that they use is a little "fatty," so if you ain't into it then you probably won't care for it! I enjoyed the famous wasabi sauce surprisingly. It was not spicy at all, but did have a hint of wasabi flavor. I will definitely be back again! Slight mislead/miscommunication, but i wanted to do a plate and they said it came with 3. I only got 2. Maybe I didn't specify enough.

    Waygu hot dog

We always have to take time to visit this small kiosk in the Don Quijote outside food court when we shop. Prices are super cheap. $13 for 2 waygu skewers side salad and rice and only $6 to add one more skewer. There is a small wait as everything is cooked to order after you pay. They are usually open until 7 or when ever sold out so you have been forwarned. The Waygu sticks are so delicious and fun to eat. There is a small custom wasabi dip which perfectly accompanies the skewers. The combo plate is more than filling for $13. Full disclaimer, it American Waygu, not Japanese Waygu. Not a deal breaker, buy just FYI. Did I mention that the individual skewers are $6? You must try this place if you are around the area. Eat like the locals.

    Hot dog. New item.
    Jeffrey T.

I've eaten here before and for the price I've always been satisfied. Today I saw that they had a new food item or at least new to me. A Wagyu skewer hot dog. Oh mah gawd. It was so tasty. Bold beef flavor, loved the fat pieces that infused more flavor. There was a tomato meat sauce and a Kewpie mayo cheese sauce. I need to eat this again cause I can't stop thinking about it. All for $8.99! It's made to order so takes about 15 minutes. It's very messy to eat so you'll need to wash your hands after.

Itadakimasu。 いただきます。 My manager introduced me to WagyuKushi. He got me a plate lunch with 2 skewers of this savory, melt in your mouth wagyu beef on a stick served with steam rice and salad. The wasabi sauce is amazingly not spicy and bursting with so much flavors. So for my birthday, I bought 5 skewers of WagyuKushi and paired with my homemade mentaiko pasta. I'm so close to perfecting the recipe to make mentaiko pasta! The combination of WagyuKushi skewers and mentaiko pasta together is divinely delicious! You can find them right outside of Don Quijote on Kaheka Street. Parking is free but it's always filled and busy, no matter what time of the day. There's a table and chairs you can use to sit and eat but be prepared to bring a sanitizer wipes and birds flying over or by you. The ladies were nice and friendly! Thank you for reading my review. Have a wonderful day!

We had a 7pm reservation that I booked through Yelp. We arrived a few minutes before our time, and was quickly seated in a "cozy" little table for 2. This place is crackin' though. It's loud and energetic. Mostly because it's a small little place down a side street on Beach Walk. The staff is super friendly, and the food is even better. I had the pork and shrimp katsu set, and my husband had fancy pork katsu set. We also had edamame to start. Everything came out sizzling hot and to perfection. I should also mention, this place is clean. The staff was constantly cleaning tables and menus. I'm giving Ginza only 4 stars because no one ever came to refill our drinks. I know it's such a small thing, but I accidentally ate some of the spicy mustard that was buried on my plate under the salad. My mouth was ON FIRE! I drank all my Diet Coke and my husband had already finished his drink too. So ya, I was dying...lol! Overall though, I would 100% eat at Ginza again

Very random one morning after stopping by kona purveyors in Waikiki, I went to the restroom and while my husband was waiting for me he decided to randomly check if they had any reservations available and we were able to get one for the next day! Getting a reservation is definitely the way to go, I've seen people wait in standby however seating is not guaranteed since they prioritize those who have a reservation. The service was amazing! They are constantly checking up on you to see if you need anything else. I like how they offer different kinds of miso soup. I personally had limitations due to my shellfish allergy, but it was amazing! The katsu we ordered was one of the biggest one that they offer. We finally got seated and the people right after us on the list got seated at the same time (they put their name 15 min after us). I would not recommend the waitlist, since it's not consistent. The food itself is always delicious. The new space was nice (and larger). Our server was very nice also. We both got tonkatsu. I got the mizore and my partner got the sizzling one. I appreciate the choices of rice and miso soup. I really enjoyed my Shiso rice and the white miso soup. I think even though I enjoyed the ground daikon but I also think I would've been happy with just a regular tonkatsu, similar for the sizzling platter.
