Yelp is being sued for extortion and by hundreds of small businesses, so how about you take your dog to Wagtime and decide for yourself. Yes, everyone in this country has to write to express their opinions, however, when people are being payed by yelp to write negative reviews and when yelp is extorting 300$ a month from small businesses to remove negative reviews, that is where we must draw the line. You can't just write whatever you want about a person or company online and not expect consequences. You are allowed to call someone a bitch when they are being one, but you legally can not write slanderous lies about a company with out legal recourse. I am fed up with yelp and it just sickens me to read some of the reviews that get posted. My husband and I have been clients of Wagtime since the beginning and we are out raged to read so many negative reviews that seem to be posted by people that clearly need medication. I am not naive. I am not saying all of the negative reviews are false, or lies, but there are some people on yelp who are clearly nuts and or have nothing better to do than to write as horrendous as a review as possible for no reason.(there are so many possible reasons for reviews like ginger and others: they could be ex employees, rival dog daycares, anyone with a grudge to anyone at wagtime, YELP CAN"T SCREEN THE CRAZIES. I am all about freedom of speech, but there is a difference between telling the world about your negative experience and opinions and then slandering a company based on lies, false claims and hearsay. Unless someone at starbucks punched me in the face for no reason, you couldn't pay me to go home and write a negative review about my local starbucks. That's just me. I think the general principal of yelp is great. People should know if a food establishment has rats running around or the management is terrible etc, however yelp does not screen people properly and it is impossible to tell who is telling the truth and who is lying and for what reason. I and many other's as you can read in the 4-5 star reviews have never had any problems ever at wagtime in 10 plus years. Everyone is different, I get that, people react differently to different situations, but when you see that the majority of the people who have rave reviews about a place, ie Wagtime, and all of them stat that they are shocked by the negative reviews...something is fishy. People, I understand that your dogs are like children to you, I would die for my dog, but you have to realize that dogs are dogs and they play rough and that people make mistakes, if a groomer cuts your dog's hair too short, deal with it. If you had to wait an hour for someone to meet you to adopt a dog, deal with it. There are people in Africa starving and dying and you have the nerve to complain about a bad grooming hair cut or your dog had his collar chewed off. Deal with it. The main point I am trying to convey, is PLEASE DO NOT base your decision to take your dog to Wagtime based some crazy people's reviews. Yes, some of them may be accurate, but how about you make your own decisions. Try it out and decide for yourself. Seriously I have read Ginger's and JHM's and Alyssa's and other's reviews and they have some valid points about customer service etc, but the majority of what they have claimed seems like they were either paid by yelp or some rival dog daycare to write negative reviews or they are just literally but cases or they just have no life. Our dog and our friends dogs have never come home smelling like pee, they have never come home with scratches or cuts etc..in 10 years, we have had nothing but pleasant exchanges with Lisa and Ofer and Carlos and Ethan. We have been getting our dog picked up by Carlos and Ethan for almost two years now and we have become actually close with them both. One, I do not believe that Carlos threatened nor harassed Ginger L. He is probably one of the nicest, most laid back people I know and anyone who reads this should know that he will take care of your dog and there is no reason to fear for the safety of your pet. Ginger L seems like she had a bad day waiting for the owners of wagtime and decided to go home and exaggerate and lie about what really happened, because she wasn't treated like a little princess at a dog daycare facility. Ginger, the world does not revolve around you. Carlos and Ethan have treated our dog like family, they have helped us out numerous times over the years when we needed emergency pickups and drop offs and all you have to do is meet them and you will see that everything that Ginger and other's have claimed are so far from the truth it's not even funny. I have taken these recent negative reviews to heart because Wagtime is such a great place, the owners really care about the dog and you can tell by the roof deck they built, pools, outdoor areas, indoor amenities, and they have won best daycare and grooming from 2007 on, so they must doing something right. I have been getting my dog picked up by Wagtime for years now and not once have I ever had any issues with them at all. I would not be able to own a dog if it weren't for wagtime. I am usually either out of town or working and don't get me wrong, I am with my dog a lot, but I try and send send him for daycare 4-5 days a week and for boarding when I am away from home. They pick my little pup up in the morning and he usually gets back after six or seven pm. He is throughly pooped every night when he returns. My dog loves wagtime and he can even hear the second the driver puts the keys in the door, he flies down the stairs ready to go. The prices can be a little steep, but I have compared with neighboring companies and they are roughly the same. The main reason I chose wagtime was because of the pickup and drop off services(which are free with a day package). I do not believe that any other daycare facilities offer that service, which helps me out a lot. There are two or three drivers that pick my baby up and they have been nothing but courteous and trustworthy over the years. I really do trust them to get my pup to and from wagtime each day safely. I was hesitant at first, but I know when I come each night that my little moop will be on the couch passed out from playing all day, waiting for me. The first couple of times I went to check out the daycare for my dogs trial and it seemed as though it was rec center for children. They showed me the recently built roof deck and outside play areas and I was actually able to see my dog running around on webcam the other day. It's cute, I think they call it Wagtime TV or something. I have only had grooming done once or twice and he came back looking and smelling great. I do however board my dog regularly and I never have to worry about him. There was a time that I came home early from a vacation and I rang the bell at 3am and a nice young guy came down and gave me my dog. He didn't seem bothered at all that I just woke him up. I find it great that they have people sleeping in the same room as the dogs on cots.(that is what the gentleman told me.) I do realize that it is an open facility, meaning the dogs are able to run free and my pup did come back one day with a scratch on his face a year ago, but it wasn't anything to get upset over. Dogs will be dogs and when I show up to grab my dog sometimes on the weekends, I go in and watch him play and run around and I have always seen multiple people playing inside the daycare watching them. I am very surprised by some recent negative reviews and all I can say is that some people are just too sensitive. I gave wagtime keys to my house to pick up and walk my dog and I have never had anything go missing or even thought for a second that my dog's life was in danger. The drivers Carlos and Ethan and another new young man will always call or text me to let me know if they are going to be late and for the past few years I have had short but sweet conversations with them and I find it very hard to believe some reviewers comments. That's just life I guess, the people that have great things to say rarely write great reviews(because they are happy and then you get the few crazies out there, who feel the need to slander a company from just one bad experience. Personally I do not believe anyone was threatened and I actually find the whole email exchange pretty funny. Some people just need to relax. Overall, I have been sending my dog to Wagtime for years and I have never had anything go wrong, knock on wood. The owners seem nice, I have only met them once or twice, but they seemed nice enough. Oh and a quick little response to a previous reviewer. I was locked out of my house a few weeks ago and couldn't find my spare key so I called Wagtime to see if I could get my key thet have there. The owners called me back in 10 minutes and told me that one of the drivers, "Carlos" would meet me at my house (in the middle of night) with my keys to let me in. I waited about 20 minutes, I received a call from Carlos, who said he was on his way from his house to get my keys and deliver them to me. Now if that isn't going the extra mile. I do not believe that he threatened anyone and I feel that my dog is completely safe while in his care, as I do with the other drivers. Not only do I feel that my dog is safe at wagtime, I feel as though he goes to a second home when stays there. I have a very hard time believing all of the negative reviews of Wagtime that are posted on Yelp, but I guess people tend to only complain about services rather than give praise when services are outstanding so here goes nothing... My labs LOVE coming to Wagtime and I LOVE sending them there. Anyone with a lab, let alone a PAIR of them, knows how unruly and wound up they can be. I drop them off at Wagtime every day during the work week so that they can have constant human attention and run and play as they wish. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my big guys passed out in their beds at 8pm. I follow suit shortly thereafter :-) With regards to grooming at Wagtime, Tyra is top notch. The crap about them not being able to schedule things is bunk. I actually LOVE that each groomer only takes 6 or so dogs a day. Have you ever been to Petsmart with your dog for grooming? They force dry your dog even if your dog is petrified of the dryer because they are a churn and burn facility. It's my understanding that Wagtime bathes all of the dogs in the morning, dries them and then they ones that need cuts get a TON of one on one time with professional groomers. My guys though they have short hair, always come out smelling like a million bucks. I also like that I can drop them off before work and pick them up after work, as they go to a clean dog daycare attached to the grooming salon to run and play with the other doggies. Wagtime has never once screwed up my dog's medicine. In fact that, on several occasions, have altered me to the fact that I forgot to bring it or that I only had X number of pills left. They have ALWAYS called me the SECOND my dogs exhibit any kind of GI illnesses, even if it's just the runs ( some thing labs get a lot due to their desire to eat anything and everything under the sun). I do wish they had call waiting or another phone line, as it seems like every time I go in there the staff is on the phone taking appointments for boarding, daycare and grooming, but I guess the busyness is a sign of good things. In short, this place is a GODSEND. All of the people who have had bad experiences, I am sorry to hear that but maybe a business that thrives on delivering the best in one on one attention to both dogs and customers, is not for you. Oh and to the guy who thinks it's disgusting that the dogs can pee wherever they want to in the daycare...what the heck do you expect? Should the dogs raise their hands and ask for a bathroom pass? Does your dog know how to use a toilet? Didn't think so. Dogs of all sizes have the ability to allow themselves outside for a potty break if they choose to eliminate outside. It's no different than the dog park, except at Wagtime people are paid to scoop poop and mop pee seconds after it happens. read more

I am astounded by the lack of pricing transparency and questionable billing practices of Wagtime, and after repeated issues, and no resolution from the owners we have decided not to use their services again. We were some of Wagtime's first customers, and after more than $3,000 paid for boarding packages and daycare, it is a shame they don't care enough about their customers to politely resolve simple questions and clarifications for customers. Two different times our credit card was charged without our authorization for a 30 day boarding package, and the first time it took weeks to resolve. We wrote this off to it being a new business, and hoped that their accounting system and customer services would improve with time. Unfortunately, things got worse, and as Wagtime has taken in more and more customers their attitude leaves much to be desired. Our last billing inquiry was a simple one - our package expired, and we requested a copy of a statement of charges for our records. Nothing about this process is easy, or transparent. You cannot get a statement in the store, and you have to wait for an email from Ofer, which comes at some irregular time of his choosing. We had questions about several charges where it appeared that we were double charged for boarding and daycare the following day. When we finally received clarification that we had missed pickup deadlines, we said the charges were fine, but it would be great to know the policy. We were told to go to the website, and that it was our responsibility alone to know their policies. We raised the point that it would be nice to have pricing and policies posted in the store (they are nowhere in sight, not even in a brochure), and especially for package holders to receive a receipt so you can check your balance when you pick up your pet, or have some sort of accountability and transparency around what is charged each time. Our questions were met with attitude and our suggestions disregarded. There are just too many questions around a business that won't readily disclose to a customer what they are being charged and when - especially when they are pre-charging $1,300 + for boarding packages... In advance, without authorization - and when they do nothing to address the concerns when they are raised. Our dog always had a great time there and it's very convenient, but check your wallet at the door. All in all, I could not be more disappointed at how they treated a longtime customer, and how they appear to be hiding something when it comes to what they charge you...seems like a sketchy business model to me. read more

I find it very interesting that some reviews below feel this way about Wagtime because my dogs and I have had nothing but amazing experiences with the staff, services, and merchandise in the store. Starting with the staff--- when my youngest dog Carlos first came to Wagtime for daycare, the staff went above and beyond to assist Carlos as he socialized with other dogs at the day care. Not only did they support my dog in the daycare, but they provided me with different tips and socialization exercises to continue his social growth at home. They genuinely care about animals and consistently impress me with their thoughtfulness and support. When I leave all three of my dogs at Wagtime, I have no worries as to how they are doing. I KNOW they are taken care of and enjoy their stay. My oldest dog (Emma) has a very strict diet because of food allergies/sensitivity and the staff at Wagtime advised me on different kinds of food that would best suit her. They were patient and understanding as they informed me about all the options and truly cared about what would be best for my dog. Not only has Emma taken well to this new food, but she LOVES to eat (which was never the case before). I love my dogs. They are my children and mean everything to me. I am so thrilled that Wagtime has given me a place to fill all of my dogs needs. read more

I bring my three dogs to Wagtime all of the time. They are all Pomeranians and they love daycare. My dogs are always so excited when I bring them in to Wagtime. I have never experienced such a better facility. I love the products and the food and items in the boutique are all very reasonably priced. I have gotten such good advice on diets for my dogs and different food, treat, and toy advice. My dogs have never showen any fear or unhappiness. All I see when I bring my dogs in is them running up to the staff to be taken upstairs to the tiny daycare room. I also love Wagtime because at the end of the day my dogs are all calm after getting their energy out. When you walk into Wagtime you would never know that it's a doggy daycare. It smells like a high end spa with aromatic candles and burning essential oils. I often get my dogs groomed at Wagtime as well. I will never take my dogs anywhere else. The grooming is amazing and the dogs love the daycare. I have boarded them a couple of times and have had a sitter come to stay with them. I LOVE Wagtime. If you are looking for somewhere amazing to take your dog, you need to go to Wagtime. read more

i have been doggy shopping at wagtime for a few years now (they have a great selection of food, treats, and accessories), but i only recently starting taking my dog, stella, there for boarding/daycare. at first i was a little apprehensive since i've never boarded her at a crate free facility, but after getting a tour of the daycare and meeting the employees, my mind was more at ease. the daycare staff was very friendly and attentive, and i was amazed at how clean every room was. stella was a little freaked out at first, (the staff told me that she was crying after i left!) but when i came back to get her she was perfectly happy. after that, i started taking stella for daycare from time to time. i love that the desk and daycare staff all know stella now and seem genuinely happy to see her. to summarize, i love wagtime and i suggest any dog (or cat) owner come by and check it out. oh, and if you are curious as to how a dog daycare smells so good, ask the desk which candle they are burning (yup, they even sell stuff for humans!) read more

I have been sending my pup to Wagtime for months and we both love it. I send her three times a week for the doggy day care and occasionally to be groomed. She always come back looking so cute. The driver picks her up in the morning, drops her off to play and in the afternoon she comes home happy and tiered, which is great. She's able to play in a cage free environment, unlike other places, PETSMART, and I have never had problem at Wagtime. The staff is very friendly, and the prices on food and collars etc.. are pretty good. It's a cute little store and I like the setup a lot. I think they are expanding to one location soon with an outdoor roof location for the smaller dogs.(Very cool). I have recommended Wagtime to some friends who live in the city and have busy 9-5's like I do ,because I know that my little baby is safe and having fun when I am busy at work. read more

If there was an option to rate 5 stars and up I'd give it to Wagtime, my saviors! Here I thought I was manly enough to take care of my buddys boxer. Turns out he was the most wild dog I've ever come in contact with. Super obnoxious. I knew whenever I saw him walk with his butt out first this was going to be interested. He just about destroyed my couch. For fear that he was going to destroy the entire house I had to get rid of him, at least temporarily. This became even a bigger disaster. I called everyone I knew for doggy care referrals and spent 3 days dropping this crazy dog off and going back to pick him up. That is until this crazy boxer met Wagtime and he almost ruined that too being I couldn't even get him in there without him attacking his leash. They deserve the gold metal and 10 stars. read more

Beware of your dogs safety! One day while our dog was at daycare we received a call from the manger stating our dog and another dog were playing and ours dog got a small cut. When we picked up our dog he had a huge gash on his head and puncture wounds all over the head and ear and needed to be taken immediately to the animal hospital for emergency surgery. The worker who was there explained he was attacked by the other dog and that dog then attacked the handler. We contacted the Manager, HR and finally the owners who all told us different stories of the incident. The owners were extremely rude and dismissive of the incident and explained that they would continue to allow the other dog to come because he was a daily customer. read more

I specifically chose Wagtime after looking at all of the other boarding facilities in the DC area. I love that they separate dogs by size and that they have indoor AND outdoor facilities for both large and small dogs. I love that they have webcameras that I can use to check in on my dog throughout the day/boarding stay. I love that the owners are a CONSTANT presence. I LOVE that the same staff have been there for quite a while and while they do add new faces, the people I have come to know and have come to place my trust in to watch my dog, know him inside and out/what's normal for him, etc. read more

We have had great experiences with Wagtime. We drop Annie off for doggie day care usually once a week - when our schedules require it. She really enjoys it, runs around all day, and tires herself out. They feed her dinner and by the time we pick Annie up she's ready to sleep! We've had very good experiences with the staff, they are all friendly and kind. We also did a doggy obedience class at Wagtime about a year ago, which is how we first learned about the place. Wagtime is fantastic! I was on spring vacation and wanted to share DC with my son, but we had to travel with our border collie. Was able to make contact with Lisa, dropped off the dog for a play day and went off to show my son the monuments and the Smithsonian! We had a blast and didn't need to worry about our pet. The staff was very helpful and understanding and Jazzy was relaxed and happy when we picked her up! She slept the rest of the way to our destination! I recently adopted a dog from wagtime. The Best experience ever. The Owners really care for the dogs. They let my dog go home with me with his favorite food, toys and a bed for no cost for the transition time. They were always there for me when I had a question. The large dog gym is pricless for an active day care and a pooped pouch at the end of the day!
