The convenience of the mobile service is hard to beat too. It's a little more expensive than service at a brick and mortar building, but it's worth it in my opinion. Most groomers do multiple dogs at once--and your dog sits in a cage in the meantime. Not great. Maria is working with just one dog --yours--from start to finish--so it's way less stress for your baby. I should also mention that Maria is the best, kindest, most competent dog groomer in the DMV. Full stop. If you have a small dog, don't even *think* about going anywhere else! Not only will your furbaby be gorgeously groomed, you will have the peace of mind of knowing he is being cared for by 1) someone who genuinely loves dogs, and 2) is also incredibly talented and experienced. Upon arriving, we were all greeted enthusiastically and Gracie did not show any trepidation about going with the groomer, which she usually does when going to get groomed. She was very happy when we picked her up and looked beautiful. Masterpiece did a phenomenal job. The space is clean, open (so you can see what is being done to your dog), and it only took an hour. I called half an hour in advance to see if the self-serve was available; when I got there, one of the groomers was using the self-serve sink. She apologized profusely and rushed out of my way. One of the staff helped me get puppy into the tub, mixed up some cream rinse, and showed me where towels and grooming products were. A heavy rubber apron kept me dry. No need to clean up; the staff does it for you. If you don't have your own grooming products, they have shampoo, conditioner, and other items free for you to use. Groomers are right in front of you; you can see that they are kind, careful, and efficient with the dogs. Only quibble is that the self-serve dryer is older and especially loud; the noise made my puppy wail. $20 for a dog wash is great. Not having to scrub my bathroom is priceless.
