Great, fast service! They saw my dog same day and he looked great. He's usually nervous about groomers but came home tail wagging. The staff listened to my concerns and took them seriously which is more than can be said for a lot of groomers. A+ service, can't recommend highly enough

My first time here based off a friend's recommendation. If you are a poodle owner, I don't recommend this place. My dog's cut looks homemade. It was uneven around the face and body. My dog sustained injuries to the head and neck area resulting in him having red marks and a bald spot. They did not pluck the hair out of the ears or clean them out. I brought it to the groomers attention immediately and they denied they injured the dog despite the fresh red marks. The owners denied it. But said they were very busy and service is better during the weekday!!!???!!! They took payment before we were allowed to inspect their work. They were not apologetic.

Best grooming for my standard goldendoodle! My 1 year old goldendoodle was in need of a summer cut and other groomers that we've tried have been okay. I call Diva Dogs on Friday morning in hope to get an appointment over the weekend, and they were able to schedule my pup for that same morning! Unheard of for DC. My pup returned to me perfectly groomed with the best haircut for the summer, and with no razor burn! Definitely recommend Diva Dogs!

A nice chuck of hair missing when I picked up my dog. The explanation, "she moved while I was trimming her ears".

I was really disappointed with my experience at Diva Dogs. I brought my dog in for grooming, and there was a strong urine odor in the store. I ignored it, as I had heard such great praise from neighbors about the place. I had an idea what I wanted from the cut but asked for some guidance. The person just repeated back what I had already said...and that was that. I returned about 3 hours later to pick up my dog, and as I was walking in the door a bulldog that had been in the back room escaped the grasp of one of the employees and bolted for the front door. Had I not closed the storm door right away, the dog would have definitely escaped. Finally, as they brought my dog out they showed a large chunk of hair missing on the side of her chest. I asked what happened, and they said that "she moved while I was trying to trim her ears". They offered to take $20 off the groom. I said thanks, paid the remaining $90 or so and went on my way.

    My doggie after her grooming!

I love Diva Dogs so much! I brought my dog to Diva Dogs last weekend for the first time and she looked the best she's ever looked after a grooming. My dog will be 5 this year and I've had her since she was born. She's never looked this great after a grooming! My dog is a yorkie poo so, even though I brush her regularly in-between grooming appointments, she still gets matted sometimes pretty easily. Because of this, most groomers either cut her down very low, or they just leave the matt in some spots. It's quite disheartening. I expected to be a little sad when I went to pick my dog up because I knew she was more matted than usual this time. I was pleasantly surprise when the tech, April, brought my dog to me with all of her hair still present! It was nicely trimmed and she just looked so bright! She is still so super silky and shiny. I love the way she looks and so does she! It was very easy to schedule the appointment, and they took me the same day. There wasn't tons of paperwork or a long wait either. I truly appreciated the efficiency. The location is also convenient as there are small shops and places to eat all around. I got my nails done and did little grocery shopping while I waited for my dog to be finished. There's also a Starbucks directly across the street in the Safeway. Great for people who just want to go somewhere and have a seat while they wait. This is definitely my dog's new grooming spot. I highly recommend Diva Dogs Grooming to anyone with a doggie!

Easy appointment and that's all that was good about the entire experience! I was terribly turned off from the very first encounter with this business. After speaking to someone who seemed to be rushing me off of the phone, I followed up with a call the following day. This same person literally hung up on me in the middle of my conversation. I called back to make sure that was what happened and she didn't apologize she just said "I got it." Wait what??? I still felt that perhaps it was a language barrier so I continued. I got there and thr person barely spoke to me and quickly grabbed my dog and told me my dog would have to be trimmed low because there was some matting. I asked how long would the wait be and I was told 2-3 hours. He pretty much closed the door in my face! I rang the bell again and I asked the gentleman would he call me when she was done and he said yes I will call you. I asked again and he said the same thing. I got back home within 10 minutes. 30 minutes later I get a TEXT, not a CALL that says "pick up" from a number I've never seen. I didn't assume it was the groomer because would anyone ever send a message like that from a business? Especially when they said they would CALL??? Anyway, 10 minutes later they send a pic of my dog. She is practically BALD!!!!! And then they followed up with another text that says "What time pickup? We no space~~" I am so irritated! $100 for you to basically shave her bald. I am so disappointed and I won't be back! So disappointed in this experience!!!!! The one star above is forced. Trust me this is not worth a star at all! Awful...awful....awful. BEWARE!!!! In this pic my dog looks mortified! The other pic is us right before her "grooming" eexperience.

Very disappointed. I asked for a westy haircut and they just shaved for $135. My dog looks now like a lamb.

I had been with them from 2015-2018 until my prior cats had passed away. They were so wonderful with my first two cats that when I saw Palisades routinely does international travel certification, I wondered why I had ever left them. The front desk was friendly and made our lives so much easier by scheduling all four cats on the same day. Even though it has been almost a decade since I've been there, I was treated like an old friend coming back. The vet tech and the doctor gently handled each one of our babies with great care...even our spicy girl Isabela! You can tell they really love animals. At no point were we made to feel bad or shamed for having a spicy cat, which is a really nice change from past vets who would show their disdain for our little girl. The doctor truly understands that animals are reacting out of fear and not malice, which was refreshing. If we weren't moving away permanently, we would definitely make this our go-to place again. Thank you for all the of the helpful tips for international travel!

My dog ate dark chocolate, I immediately called and was told to call the ASPCA poison control hotline. I did, but was on hold for quite a while, so I called the pet poison helpline which another vet had previously recommended. They were able to calculate the theobromine level and give instructions on how to induce vomiting, which I did. I called Palisades Vet back with this information, they asked if I "wanted " to bring him in. I said I needed clear guidance, that clearly I did not want to bring him in and I needed to know whether he needed further care. They said to bring him in. The vet who saw him erroneously assumed that the pet poison helpline did not have veterinary toxicologists on staff, so she decided to call the ASPCA poison hotline and billed me for the cost, about $100. That was an error on their part. But even worse, after having my dog for hours and billing me close to $400, Palisades Vet ultimately told me my dog needed to go to an emergency overnight hospital based entirely on the exact information I provided when I first called. Let that sink in for a minute. It was a critical loss of several hours, in addition to a good bit of money. I emailed Dr. Elliot and she asked to schedule a call to get into greater detail. It was honestly a surprise that she said she thought everything had been handled properly and refused to even issue a refund for the unnecessary toxicology call, despite the fact that their vet was wrong and that it was entirely unnecessary. As for them telling me that my dog needed to be at an overnight Animal Hospital after billing me $400 and wasting about four hours of my time? I took my dog to Friendship, which I should have done from the start. And I guess I have to thank Palisades vet, because I switched to Friendship, which has been far superior in every way! Silver linings. One other thing, we had an emergency appointment after my dog was bit by another dog. He needed three surgical staples and they said I needed to get the rabies vaccine information for the other dog and send it to them. I did that. I told them that the other dog, who we didn't know, came running from maybe 10 yards away and with no prior interaction pushed my dog down and bit him. My understanding is that vets are required to report dog bites to the DC Department of Health. Palisades Vet did not do that, so I reported the bite myself.

I cannot more effusively recommend them and would give 6 stars out of 5 if I could - they were absolutely fantastic and the best doggy daycare we've ever had. They were attentive and affectionate toward our dog; we always felt comfortable leaving her in their hands in the way we would with family. They were professional, communicative, and accommodating; routinely going beyond our expectations. Their attentiveness showed both in their adapting their level of personal attention when our dog needed a little more (or less) doting (and/or reminders to share the toys with the other dogs), and in their response to when we unexpectedly had to travel and board our dog when she was still under a somewhat complicated, temporary medicine regimen. They seamlessly managed her nightly routine, and even sent us personal photo updates of how our our dog was doing to assuage our concerns in having to leave her behind. Their daily efforts to keep the dogs entertained and mentally engaged were effective and--based on the daily picture updates we received via email--often amusing. All told, the folks at Playful Pack McLean (especially Lester, Becca, and Lauren, but also more broadly the entire team) were wonderful. If we hadn't had to move away, we'd still be bringing our dog there today. We feel confident she still misses her canine and human friends there. And we do too.
