Called on Tuesday took Timmy in on Thursday 9am. April formed him and did a great job. Last 2 groomers had Timmy either bleeding or shaking in fear. April presented me with a well groomed dog who was nice and calm. Shop appeared nice from outside. Parking not a problem for drop off at 9am Pickup parking was terrible. These folks were GREAT. Tried this place based on proximity to my home. Wouldn't go back though. There's no pricing online anywhere. They also didn't allow me inside so if there was a price board there, I didn't see it. When I called to book an appointment I was told: "I don't know. $125?" That should have been my first clue to go somewhere else, but I figured maybe it was just one person having a bad day. I showed up and the door is locked but there was a man sitting at the desk. He didn't come open the door or greet me. After about a minute, a woman walked to the door started to grab the leash and walk away, without letting me in or verifying who I was or what services I had booked...etc. I stopped her and told her that I wanted a wash and a brush. NO CUT. She assured me yes then took the dog away. When I returned to pick him up, I noticed that they had in fact cut his hair. Now, the haircut itself isn't terrible. But I specifically asked for his hair to NOT be cut. The services provided were fine, the price was about what I would expect, it ended up being $125 for a bath and cut I didn't ask for, but I wouldn't go back here simply because customer service and basic communication skills are non existent here. read more

My first time here based off a friend's recommendation. If you are a poodle owner, I don't recommend this place. My dog's cut looks homemade. It was uneven around the face and body. My dog sustained injuries to the head and neck area resulting in him having red marks and a bald spot. They did not pluck the hair out of the ears or clean them out. I brought it to the groomers attention immediately and they denied they injured the dog despite the fresh red marks. The owners denied it. But said they were very busy and service is better during the weekday!!!???!!! They took payment before we were allowed to inspect their work. They were not apologetic. read more

I was really disappointed with my experience at Diva Dogs. I brought my dog in for grooming, and there was a strong urine odor in the store. I ignored it, as I had heard such great praise from neighbors about the place. I had an idea what I wanted from the cut but asked for some guidance. The person just repeated back what I had already said...and that was that. I returned about 3 hours later to pick up my dog, and as I was walking in the door a bulldog that had been in the back room escaped the grasp of one of the employees and bolted for the front door. Had I not closed the storm door right away, the dog would have definitely escaped. Finally, as they brought my dog out they showed a large chunk of hair missing on the side of her chest. I asked what happened, and they said that "she moved while I was trying to trim her ears". They offered to take $20 off the groom. I said thanks, paid the remaining $90 or so and went on my way. read more

I love Diva Dogs so much! I brought my dog to Diva Dogs last weekend for the first time and she looked the best she's ever looked after a grooming. My dog will be 5 this year and I've had her since she was born. She's never looked this great after a grooming! My dog is a yorkie poo so, even though I brush her regularly in-between grooming appointments, she still gets matted sometimes pretty easily. Because of this, most groomers either cut her down very low, or they just leave the matt in some spots. It's quite disheartening. I expected to be a little sad when I went to pick my dog up because I knew she was more matted than usual this time. I was pleasantly surprise when the tech, April, brought my dog to me with all of her hair still present! It was nicely trimmed and she just looked so bright! She is still so super silky and shiny. I love the way she looks and so does she! It was very easy to schedule the appointment, and they took me the same day. There wasn't tons of paperwork or a long wait either. I truly appreciated the efficiency. The location is also convenient as there are small shops and places to eat all around. I got my nails done and did little grocery shopping while I waited for my dog to be finished. There's also a Starbucks directly across the street in the Safeway. Great for people who just want to go somewhere and have a seat while they wait. This is definitely my dog's new grooming spot. Easy appointment and that's all that was good about the entire experience! I was terribly turned off from the very first encounter with this business. After speaking to someone who seemed to be rushing me off of the phone, I followed up with a call the following day. This same person literally hung up on me in the middle of my conversation. I called back to make sure that was what happened and she didn't apologize she just said "I got it." Wait what??? I still felt that perhaps it was a language barrier so I continued. I got there and thr person barely spoke to me and quickly grabbed my dog and told me my dog would have to be trimmed low because there was some matting. I asked how long would the wait be and I was told 2-3 hours. He pretty much closed the door in my face! I rang the bell again and I asked the gentleman would he call me when she was done and he said yes I will call you. I asked again and he said the same thing. I got back home within 10 minutes. 30 minutes later I get a TEXT, not a CALL that says "pick up" from a number I've never seen. I didn't assume it was the groomer because would anyone ever send a message like that from a business? Especially when they said they would CALL??? Anyway, 10 minutes later they send a pic of my dog. She is practically BALD!!!!! And then they followed up with another text that says "What time pickup? We no space~~" I am so irritated! $100 for you to basically shave her bald. I am so disappointed and I won't be back! So disappointed in this experience!!!!! The one star above is forced. Trust me this is not worth a star at all! Awful...awful....awful. BEWARE!!!! We found Diva dogs on MacArthur and called to make an appointment, and they had same day availability which was awesome. When we have tried to make appointments at Petco in the past there have been 2 week waitlists. April took good care of our pup, and was able to trim his nails which can be a tough task. They gave him a nice bath and he was done in about 2 hours. The $85 price for a bath and nail trim was definitely higher than competitors so I am not sure we can afford to make this our regular spot, but overall we were happy! read more

BEWARE. They will cut all of your dog's hair off, even when you tell them not to. I told them 5 times not to shave our dog, and that I would come get him if they were going to shave him. They ignored me and shaved him anyway. He also was completely traumatized and out-of-sorts when he came home. Balled up in the corner all night and trembling. There were a few spots where they nicked him with the razor as well - I would not go back here or recommend to anyone. They ended up charging over $100 to merely shave and traumatize our dog. There are also very serious communication issues. One of the owners doesn't speak English. That said, they did indicate an understanding when I repeatedly said "Don't shave." read more

I've been taking my Australian Labradoodle to Diva Dogs for years. They are awesome. They are extremely sweet and kind to my dog and are very gentle-- never a tell-tale hint of brush burn. They provide thorough bathing and beautiful hair cutting and shaping. Nails are expertly cut and filed so no sharp edges ever. Ears cleaned and glands expressed. She did an amazing job! I know it's such a lot of work, especially now, he changes his coat and lose such a lot of hair. Diva Dogs won't serve boxer or bull mix dogs. Total breedists. Very disappointing for a dog place. I was referred to Diva Dogs. I have a bully mix. She is well behaved and has a great history at the groomers. Diva Dogs would not even make an appointment to meet my dog. He blamed it on the other customers, saying that his other customers have small dogs and wouldn't like it if my dog was there. My business is going elsewhere and I will encourage others to do the same. read more

The owner of this shop is clearly narrow minded when it comes to dog breeds. We called to schedule grooming for our two dogs, and without ever meeting the dogs to asses their temperament, were told that they refuse to groom pit bulls. I would encourage people to seek out another location as we did and boycott a groom that practices breed specific discrimination. As an update I found a mobile DC groomer, Sniffs & Wiggles, that did an outstanding job, at a reasonable price, and didn't have a weight limit or discriminatory policy towards pit bulls. read more

Diva Dogs always does such a great job of grooming my Shihpoo. He always comes away fluffy, soft, clean, and with a great cut. And the price is worth it, because they also take care of nails and glands as part of their standard grooming service. I also appreciate that they are careful in HOW they groom your dog. I was getting tired of other grooming salons returning my pup to me with angry red marks or scars because of aggressive grooming--even if/when he didn't have knots or mats. I can go to the groomer up the street from me, or I can drive 15 minutes to Diva Dogs. I choose Diva Dogs. I have been trying to find a groomer for a few weeks now. I went to Diva Dogs based on the review. I got an appointment right away. I was running late due to traffic and they were very accommodating. The grooming only took just over an hour. They called me as soon as my puppy was done. The cut was very good, and it costs about $75. They used the shampoo I brought, too. The gentleman who trimmed my dog came out to tell me how he did, which I appreciated. When you book, be sure to ask how long it'll take. Parking is a bit scarce so build in some time for that. After reading all the good reviews, I was excited at using Diva Dogs for the first time, or any mobile grooming for that matter. $125 later, I was sadly disappointed. I was not even going to write a review, I was just going to go on with life and count it as a lesson learned...until my dog started throwing up. I have a 2yr old Old English Sheepdog who weighs 90 lb. I asked for a trim, nails, ear plucking and beard trim and a bath. 1. I know I have a big dog. When Jong arrived, he acted like he was surprised that he was big. Yet, when I had made the appt with him on the phone weeks earlier, I specifically told him the breed I had. 2. He arrived around 6pm and after an hour and a half, I went out to knock on the door of the van because I was wondering how things were going. I saw my dog still sopping wet in the sink, he was just now getting his bath! 3. My sheepdog is already cut short, so there was not much clipping that should have been needed. When he finally came in, 2.5 hours later, he was basically shaved....something I specifically asked NOT to happen. 4. His beard looked untouched, which is something I specifically asked to be cut short. 5. Jong acted put out and exasperated that it took so long. He kept saying it was because my dog kept pulling his paws away from him when trying to do his nails. Well, he is a dog, and I don't know many dogs who LIKE having their nails trimmed. If you are professional dog groomer who does this on a daily basis, I would expect that you know this is going to happen and that you know how to deal with a dog pulling his paws away. He also complained that my dog kept wanting to sit down during his treatments. Well if I stood in a sink for 2.5 hours, I would probably want to sit down too. And after all the time he was out there, he still was wet, he was not even dry all the way. 6. When it came time to write the check he said it would be $130 dollars. I was shocked. I had planned on paying 100 for the treatments and giving 20 for a tip. Not 130 plus him expecting a tip! When he asked me what I thought, I told him just that (what I was expecting to pay) and I wrote him a check for 125. I know I have a big dog, but even for a sheepie, he is on the small side and I have had him groomed before at 80-90 bucks and that is WITH tip. I understand you pay for the convenience of him coming to your house, but 130 was steep, even for a big dog. 7. This is the part I can't explain nor has it EVER happened before. Not even 30 min after Jong had left me and my dog, my dog threw up violently, twice. He acted listless and upset and when I tried to pet him he acted very sensitive. The one good thing is that his ears look clean and plucked. I feel bad having to write such a negative review for someone's business and they are trying to make a living, but seriously, this evening did not go well. I now have a sick dog who is throwing up, with a shave, and not the kind of cut that I asked for. I am sorry, but I will never use this service again. Excuse me now, for I must go dig out my little green machine and clean up these throw up spots on my carpet. read more

We have struggled over the last 5 years to find a good groomer for our goldendoodle. He always ended up with a terrible haircut, usually looking like a misshapen poodle that we still end up paying a fortune for. I came to this place because of what I read on Yelp and I am so happy I did. They always can accomodate me the day of and they let my dog wander around when he's done. Diva Dogs is so convenient (they are practically next door to my vet) and the groomers are so nice. I took both my dogs for nail trims and the groomers did a great job. My dogs don't typically like getting their nails trimmed so I always took them to Petsmart for that. Now I will go to Diva Dogs because my dogs were actually behaving themselves for the groomers. I also think the Diva Dogs groomers did a much better job because they not only trim the nails, they also file them down so they are smooth. First, Yong (John) is very professional and goes that extra mile to make sure that you and your pet are happy. This was Cody's (Cody is a cocker and his hair is very prone to matting) second groom with John and it was excellent. You can tell that John loves his work and it shows through the groom that he gave to Cody. It is oh so convenient to have the groomer come to my house and there is never an issue with parking as I live in a complex that has tons of parking spaces. The price is pretty reasonable around $70.00 (I used to pay way more at other groomers). Cody smelled so good after his grooming and was running around like a puppy (he is nearly seven years old). So I took my dog here for the second time but not sure if I will be back very soon. Let me start off by saying I have a Puli puppy which I understand is a rare breed. I'm lucky that they have even had experience with Pulik because most groomers in the area told me they wouldn't be able to help. I went here because I saw a review saying they groomed a puli before. Since he is a puppy his cords aren't fully formed but this also means they need a lot of work, especially before and after a wash. All the research I've done says to separate cords before the wash and once again after. This is where they lose stars for me, because I have spent the last couple days separating the cords myself. Seems like I paid (what I would consider a lot of money) for him to just be washed. That they did a great job on I must say, he is very clean now. Hair around eyes trimmed nicely as well as his nails. I would recommend to friends with "easier" breeds but it looks like I might have to take grooming into my own hands until his cords are fully formed. I have a schnorkie and he's small, but his hair grows fast and long. He's a squirmer and hates the groomer. I've had unhappy groomers in the past and one time he squirmed and the groomer nicked him with the clippers. When I moved to the neighborhood, I started taking him to Diva Dogs. It's perfect. After three years I can say I'm very happy there. It's more expensive, but my dog doesn't even seem anxious to go there and the groom always looks nice. They've never said he was difficult, and when I pick him up he always seems himself and happier to be hair-free. Not traumatized by the experience. Was desperately looking for grooming services on a Friday, everyone was booked with no appointments called this place and they said come now. Surprisingly they were not only good but they were fast and timely and prices are not overly expensive especially being in the part of town that they are located.
