He's very sweet but started to get rambunctious to the point that my remote work felt challenging. He also started jumping or freezing when he saw other dogs on walks, and he occasionally barked or growled and men. We weren't sure if it was the start of aggressive behavior or just the result of a shelter dog that hasn't been exposed. After doing our research, we decided to do the 3 week behavior modification board and train program. We were really impressed from beginning to end. They shared a ton of information upfront, walked us through their facility (we opted to drop him off) and sent pictures and updates every evening. It became clear right away that they both have a very deep understanding of dogs, as well as a real respect and love for them. Tuck loved them! The best part was the "transition" day when Perry brought Tuck back and spent the day teaching us everything they've worked on together. We are first time dog owners so generally going in pretty blind. Perry gave us a 101 on dogs and the importance of clear and consistent communication. He talked through all of the layers of training and how/why it is effective. We felt this part was SO helpful for us to understand how to be better owners. Then we walked Tuck around the neighborhood with Perry guiding us and then spent time addressing indoor behaviors too. He was flexible and stayed until we felt comfortable with everything. This is a long review so the TLDR: finding a trainer is a big decision and investment so we wanted to get it right. Brandi & Perry were really incredible and beyond our expectations!! Truly worth every penny! Tuck has been doing really great at home and outside since being home. I've been able to work full days with him holding "place" on his cot, which would have been unheard of before!

But with the holidays approaching I want to make sure that Sally's story is told before you make a decision to trust your dog with K-9 Divine. I typically don't write reviews--but this is serious and very hard. Nearly every time I booked Sally to stay at K-9 Divine, I made a special note reminding them that she hates the car. Nevertheless--according to what K-9 Divine told us--on Monday the 11th, as they were loading the dogs into the van to return home (I had just returned from my grandma's 96th birthday in Florida) the staff defied all of their own (and common sense) safety protocols and opened the garage door to the street while Sally was sitting in the garage, unleashed, untethered and unattended. In her effort to avoid the dreaded car trip, she ran out - right into the street where she was hit and killed by a passing car. They admitted negligence and said it had never happened before. But it did happen, and it happened to the most important being in my life. Do not trust them with your dog. My vet, my family and friends share my shock and grief--I carefully chose K-9 Divine and thought it was a good fit for my social, loving, adorable Sally. Now she's gone. It's a living nightmare and my life's goal to prevent this from ever happening again. I imagine K-9 Divine will respond to this review by saying this tragedy will never happen again. From their promotional protocols, it never should have happened in the first place. No apology can make up for their negligence.

From the very first visit, it was clear that she genuinely cares for the dogs she looks after--she treats Taz as if he were her own. Every time I drop him off at Pawadise, he's excited and wagging his tail, and I leave knowing he's in great hands. Deena provides a nurturing, structured, and fun environment where dogs can safely play, socialize, and feel at home. Taz always comes back happy, well-exercised, and ready for a nap--which tells me he's had a full day of activity and engagement with his furry friends. It's also comforting to know that Deena keeps a close eye on the dogs and is attentive to each of their personalities and needs. Finding a place that you can trust with your pet is never easy, but Pawadise has exceeded every expectation. I wish there were more stars to give on this review for Leila Knows Best!…read more My Sansa is a 10 month old Soft Coated Wheaten terrier. The breed is known to be highly intelligent. Her trainer tells me that she is very stubborn with extremely high energy. She is also rebellious and constantly pushing boundaries to see what she can get away with. And I adore her. Sansa was badly injured by her first groomer at age 14 weeks, and had to have emergency surgery, plus 6 weeks of heavy sedation so she could recover. As a result she is now anxious all the time. She is jumpy and scared and ready to bite the hand that wants to leash her-mine! I had left her with a dog sitter for a weekend in September and then reserved the same sitter for the first week of November. I think that the sitter was too polite to tell me that she didn't want to deal with my Cujo-style dog. She called about 12 hours before she was supposed to show up and backed out. I am glad she did because that lead me to Elodie and Moe-"Leila Knows Best", who are THE PERFECT dog sitters. They treated Sansa like she was their own. I know how disruptive she can be, yet they never complained. She was genuinely happy there. I had to extend my trip by two nights and they accommodated her without fussing, hemming or hawing. I received several updates for the 8 days that I was away. They took her to the waterfront to play, for several walks a day and even pulled out a crate for her to sleep in because that's what she is trained to do. I didn't have to lug her crate over. Their place is spotless. They have a beautiful pooch called Leila who seems calm and well trained. Sansa clearly enjoyed her stay with aunty Elodie and Uncle Moe! To Elodie and Moe-I cannot thank you enough! I hope you'll agree to take her again. (Not soon because as Moe said-she is a dog and a half). Lol She is in puppy kindergarten now and should be much easier next time!! If you want someone you can trust with your canine baby, look no further. .

What a difference a day (with Atlas) makes! After just one visit with Thomas my puppy is remarkably…read morebetter behaved! I have a 8 month mini golden doodle. She's incredibly smart and before finding Atlas she was pretty well behaved but I had sort of hit a wall with her undesirable behavior (barking, separation anxiety, jumping up on people). I knew she needed better instruction than my partner and I were giving her, but knowing how social my dog is, a group puppy class didn't seem ideal. Luckily I met Atlas owner, Danny, and immediately I felt the right vibe. He seemed to have a training approach based in dog psychology, and I knew I was gonna have to think like my very intelligent dog if I was going to effectively communicate with her. I then met with Thomas (who I thoroughly enjoyed on a personal level too!) for only 2 hours and we went over a lot... all sorts of tips and tricks and it helped me to understand the overall philosophy of dog training. I was so busy going over every training mistake i had made, that I didn't even notice that Thomas was efficiently correcting her and my dog began to be on her best behavior... quietly cuddled next to me. Later on that night the change became more apparent when my partner was also like "um did you notice how obedient puppy is being?" We began joking that it's like we brought over a military school recruiter and now she's like "I'll be good! I'll be good!" We're not 100% sure which tip that Thomas gave us was so magical (but I suspect correcting the pack hierarchy was a major point) but it worked! Barking has turned into a low growl or nothing at all, she's stopped pestering us for fetch in favor of waiting for "play time", the results are kinda mind blowing! But the best part I never saw coming. Until seeing the after effects of Thomas I didn't realize how my stressed my puppy was. So now everyone in the house is happier! This is one of those business I love to support! Great people doing great work!

In addition, I never received an explanation as to why some days I was charged more than others, for the very same service.  All in all, Atas Doghouse is a convenient, affordable option for doggy daycare, but you will want to be diligent about checking the charges to your credit card frequently.
