Stella is an excellent cat sitter. She left my home neat and clean. I appreciate how well she communicated with me and cared for my cat.

Nothing seemed right until I saw Myron and Karen at the dog park with the slew of happy, well attended dogs in their care.

I…read moreresearched my local doggie daycare options & was most impressed that Dogtopia pre-screens canine candidates for temperament & socialization by watching them interact with a series of pooches with different personalities. In daycare, they're grouped by size & temperament. Rosie joined the other largely Generic Small White Dogs in the "Toy Box" playroom. Full day Care is broken up with doggie nap time around mid-day. Coolest: being able to spy on the play & sniff action via the live cams & access on the Dogtopia app. Kinda hard to explain to anyone nearby if you start laughing at the dog play, but that's Dogtopia!

Unfortunately, I can't recommend Dogtopia to any dog owner…read more My dog came home smelling like urine on multiple occasions, contracted kennel cough more than once, and repeatedly came home with deep gashes on her side. Our vet bills became astronomical. Every time I asked what happened, I got the same response: "We don't know." Then came the excuses--she "probably ran into a wall." Once is an accident. Multiple times is a pattern. (Picture of her cut attached) When my dog was injured, there were never any real answers. Conveniently, the cameras always seemed to be unavailable whenever an incident occurred. Instead of transparency or accountability, I was met with excuses. The most heartbreaking part was watching my dog's personality change. She went from eagerly walking into daycare to planting herself on the floor and refusing to go into the back with staff. She had to be physically coaxed forward because she clearly didn't want to go. As her owner, it was obvious she was stressed. The customer service was just as concerning as the care. Marla was consistently defensive, dismissive, and unwilling to take accountability. I personally witnessed her raising her voice at customers, and I experienced that same treatment myself. It wasn't an isolated bad interaction--it was a pattern. She went as far as telling me that our dog "is a rescue, so it's not surprising she's a bad dog" Absolutely horrible and concerning for someone who's job is working with dogs from all backgrounds. There were also numerous times when our calls went unanswered, yet someone would immediately pick up if we called from a different phone number. Whether intentional or not, it left us feeling like our concerns were being avoided. What I cannot understand is why Jeff allows this level of customer service to represent his business. The way concerns were handled reflected a culture of excuses instead of accountability. The difference after leaving Dogtopia was night and day. We found a facility and trainer that prioritized structure, safety, and individualized care. Today, my dog is confident, relaxed, and genuinely excited to go to daycare. Looking back, I regret not leaving Dogtopia sooner. This was, without question, the worst experience I've ever had with a pet care business. If your dog can't tell you when something is wrong, you have to trust the people caring for them. Unfortunately, Dogtopia gave me every reason not to.

Great name as they are the BEST pet sitters I've had for my 3 dogs…read more Elodie and Moe are spectacular. I am a neurotic owner of 3 dogs and just used them for the first time while my wife and I were out of town for a week. Each one of my dogs has a different personality and they dealt with all of them well; even my newer pup who barked at them forever the first day. I got several photos and videos each day showing my dogs playing, eating, etc. They administered pills and were able to walk all 3 of mine at once. You can really tell they are not just doing a job but really love the animals. Hire these people. They will be my default pet sitting from now on.

Unfortunately we can no longer recommend Leila Knows Best for dog boarding. We were frequent and…read moreloyal clients for years, but the relationship changed over the last 10 months as Moe increasingly focused on how to extract more money from us instead of cultivating a continued positive client relationship. It started with less and less updates and photos when we boarded our dog. When Moe did provide updates it was usually in conjunction with an offer to purchase credits for future stays (which we did and later came to regret). Then Moe started asking us to pay additional fees for stays we had previously negotiated and paid for, going so far as to request those additional fees while he was already watching our dog. This behavior started to make us feel uncomfortable in continuing to use his services and more concerned about leaving our dog in his care. Moe's behavior did not present as someone thankful to clients that consistently supported his dog watching business. We had been loyal clients for years and, this year in particular, had already used Moe's services nearly every month with more scheduled trips through the rest of the year. Despite our concerns, we continued to use Moe's services since we had pre-paid for two more stays through the end of the year. That changed when we requested to reschedule one of the stays. Well in advance of the trip, we asked Moe if he was available for a week the month before our trip. He confirmed he was, but when we requested to reschedule our original trip to that earlier week and use the pre-paid credit, Moe stated he was no longer available. When we referred him to the cancellation policy on his website, he offered the credit, but wouldn't let us use it until the end of the year. We reminded Moe that in the years we've consistently used his services, we have never rescheduled, and explained the importance of rescheduling our trip. Moe subsequently offered to board our dog for the requested week, but wanted an additional $150, despite our pre-paid credit exceeding the amount of time we were rescheduling for. We felt hustled and tried to handle this issue privately, but Moe stopped responding to us. Unfortunately we have lost over $1,000 in pre-paid and unused credit--a costly mistake that we won't be making again. We're sad that our relationship soured in this way, but we could no longer trust Moe and would suggest prospective clients be cautious about doing business with him.

The Board Hound has been an amazing resource for me and my pup Finn. Finn is 2 years old and has…read moreextreme separation anxiety and is sensitive to...well just about everything. The Board Hound was recommended by the Animal Behavior Wellness Center (Fairfax) early in our journey. Everyday they balance group play with enrichment and learning (brain games). For example, last week they introduced Finn to bubbles and although he was tentative at first, with gentle encouragement he ended up loving the bubbles (the pics of his bubble exploration are in the attached report card)! This is just one example - they've not only reinforced my training but advanced Finn's training when it comes to reactivity (their training the "wait" command has been a godsend). The Board Hound's curriculum (my word) includes personalized care based on Finn's need, their recommendations are always given from their expertise and in the best interest of Finn. If Finn wants to be on the floor playing, in the suite resting, or needs one-on-one time, they accommodate regardless of what the "schedule" says. We recently moved houses and Finn struggled with the change and added stress. The Board Hound made me aware of the changes they had seen in his behavior and helped me manage his stress. They temporarily adjusted his day to ensure he was getting more rest, shortened his group play sessions to limit over stimulation, and increased his one-on-on time with the staff doing brain games and other activities. They provided updates and made sure I had a good sense of what they were seeing day-to-day. This reduced Finn's overall stress and made the transition to our new home easier. I cannot overstate how much I appreciate everything The Board Hound offers as support for my pup and his well being including the expertise of the staff, their excellent communication, and ongoing attentiveness to Finn's needs. I recommend their services to anyone.

After a few sessions, she started to play with all the dogs and became confident in her ability to socialize with puppies of different sizes. We learned a lot even though we thought we knew dog training very well. We never tried their other services but the staff is super nice and accommodating and highly recommend their puppy socials for new puppy owners. I believe they are $10 per session.
