Service was amazing! I've heard great things about Wagshal and look forward to trying other food they offer. Breakfast was okay...

Wagshal's has been my favorite place for lunch since I went to AU, I always enjoy their food after schoolwork.

This is the "lasagna" that I paid nearly thirty dollars to pick up. I deeply regret buying. Oily mess.

Gourmet deli and market with a nice seated area for eating in. I was surprised that the tables are full service; we were seated by a hostess and our server was very attentive. The menu is mostly sandwiches, burgers, and salads, but also has a variety of entrees. Our choices - shrimp & crab casserole and vegan ramen - were decent but not memorable. However, my husband pointed out that our selections probably weren't the house specialities. My friend was pretty happy with his choice of the Impossible Burger. We all enjoyed the deli bakery cookies we bought for dessert, too. Overall, I would rate our dining experience 3.5 stars, but given the convenient seating area and good service I would visit again, especially to try the brunch and lunch menus.

Wagshal's is refreshingly different and not too expensive. The BBQ is very tasty and the pastries never miss.

While some items, especially the ready-to-cook meals, are on the pricier side, you can still find great deals with their private-label products. I really enjoyed the alcohol selection. They carry everything from casual everyday wines to reasonably priced bottles that are actually quite good. The section is well organized, which makes it easy to browse. They also have hard liquor and beer, so most people will be able to find what they are looking for. Another big plus is the number of self-checkout stations, so I did not have to wait in line. The parking lot can be a bit confusing and chaotic depending on the time of day, so keep that in mind. Do not forget to get your parking validated before leaving the store.

Therefore, for that moment I felt like I was in heaven when I stopped in and saw the wine selections, my heart was happy, I felt like I was back home in Seattle, WA, and for those of you who have never been to Washington State, one thing you need to know is this, you can buy beer, wine and liquor very late at any grocery store, 7-11, gas stations and/mom & pop stores in and outiside of the city and that's why I was so happy to see Trader Joe's in DC had the option to shop for both groceries libations (wine). The staff members are always happy to help you find items, and customer service is always great, in my opinion. I love me some Trader Joe's, even if I'm not able to purchase wine at my local Trader Joe's, or not is still my favorite place to shop for my groceries since I eat the same thing I already know how much I'm going to spend on griceries. and I will take the drive. When I stopped in once looking for plastic silverware (random, I know), not only could I not find it, but I also did not recognize many of the items on the shelves. That said, there were dozens of people shopping on a Thursday afternoon, and everything was very well organized with a smooth flow throughout the store. Mom's is a specialty store, I think that is the best word, with solid options depending on what you are looking for. As noted in other reviews, this is a smaller and more curated market. It feels somewhere between a Trader Joes and Whole Foods in terms of atmosphere and selection. It is not meant to replace your big weekly grocery run, but it really shines when you are shopping for high quality organic produce, sustainable products, or plant based alternatives. The bulk food section looked great, and there were lots of local options for dairy, meat, eggs, and more. Parking is easy-ish, especially compared to other grocery stores in the area. Checkout was quick, and the staff were friendly and genuinely helpful when I had questions. Overall, if you are open to a different kind of grocery experience that is smaller, thoughtful, and centered on organic and local products, Mom's is definitely worth a visit. It may not be your everyday grocery store, but that might be exactly why it works.

Upon exiting the store, I asked about how to get out of the parking area without having to pay. I was told that I would need to use the barcode on the receipt to scan out of the parking garage (remember this later in my review). Parking: I made an error and followed someone exiting the parking area and they ended up going further into the parking garage instead of going up. That was my mistake. I was in an area with taped paper arrows. It honestly looked like the area that Michael Jackson danced in within the Bad video. You know the video-they were dancing/fighting. I knew I had to get out of that parking garage or I might've seen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Exiting the parking garage was its own thing. The exit bar is on a 45 degree incline. Hope you aren't driving a manual. I scanned the barcode on the receipt-that did not work. FYI-there is a separate receipt attachment with a barcode that needs to be scanned-not the receipt itself.
