Have a drink while shopping! Great idea! How do you do that when masks are mandatory!?

What a great super market. I'm sorry I'm from NJ and NY so I'm spoiled, can't give it a 5 .what super market has a bar with hot dog samples!? But how does anyone drink, mask, and shop? Is it me? They have a nice variety of produce very fresh, believe it or not south Jersey produce are horrible! The store was clean and the offer self checkout.

It had been some time since I had been to this specific Giant but I sometimes come here just because it's close to my work. The first thing that I noticed when I walked inside was the beefed-up security. I was told that backpacks like the one I was carrying is not allowed in the store. The Guard waivered and allowed me to bring the backpack inside as long as it was in a shopping cart. I only wanted to pick-up a prepared salad for lunch, as well as, a couple of other things that I needed for my fridge at home. The Santa Fe salad looked too good, and it included some grilled chicken strips, black beans, corn, and shredded cheese. It also had a couple packs of dressing, although I'm not clear about the flavor. I had a few minutes to spare, so I also got a box of Captain Crunch cereal, a half gallons of skim milk, and a box of strawberry pop tarts, why not. The prices here seem to be in line with all of the other grocery stores in the area.

This is a nice shiny DC grocery store. There is an attached parking garage but you only get 30 minutes of free parking. I didn't see a validating machine in the store to access additional free time. There are 2 entrances from the garage but one of them is closed. The produce is fresh. The deli counter has a good selection of fresh pre sliced meat & cheeses and good, fast service if you don't see want you want. This is a big, bright attractive store. You will find everything on your list here. Giant has good digital specials and coupons. There is an app that you can confirm with a phone number that gets you extra savings when you shop. My big complaint is many of the coupons require a minimum $25 purchase. Prices rang from low to moderate. Customer service is good and friendly even at the self checkout. Until next time be kind to each other. @yelpdc #giant

I live closer to the Van Ness Giant. However, I love this location. The store has a HAPPY HOUR. Can you beat that? The shopping carts have wine glass holders! The drinks are excellent and they let you sample the drinks. The store is much more like a suburban grocery store. There is plenty of space in the store, and they have great high ceilings. The parking garage is free with validation and it is easy to get in and out of the garage. They have a great hot bar and salad bar. They do have a bigger selection of products than most stores in this area, which is nice. Note: I can't remember their names, but the people who work at the bar are ALWAYS super awesome!

This Giant Food has a confusing layout if you are doing self-checkout. It wasn't designed properly. But, I did find what was needed.

If you've been in one Trader Joe's in your lifetime, you know the layout is pretty much the same…read more However, this is one of the largest of the few in the area I was in, which was on Wisconsin Ave. What sets this apart from where I live in Maryland is the fact that in Maryland you cannot buy wine in grocery stores or places such as Trader Joe's and on top of that the wine/liquor prices in Maryland are outrageous. Therefore, for that moment I felt like I was in heaven when I stopped in and saw the wine selections, my heart was happy, I felt like I was back home in Seattle, WA, and for those of you who have never been to Washington State, one thing you need to know is this, you can buy beer, wine and liquor very late at any grocery store, 7-11, gas stations and/mom & pop stores in and outiside of the city and that's why I was so happy to see Trader Joe's in DC had the option to shop for both groceries libations (wine). The staff members are always happy to help you find items, and customer service is always great, in my opinion. I love me some Trader Joe's, even if I'm not able to purchase wine at my local Trader Joe's, or not is still my favorite place to shop for my groceries since I eat the same thing I already know how much I'm going to spend on griceries. and I will take the drive. However, now I will make the drive to DC to do both when I can. After all, I'm a road warrior. Again, this is just my opinion and experiences. Love U!

I regularly go to the Glover Park location so am quite familiar with the layout, but I must say this location is spacious and even when it's busy, it's rarely overwhelming. Also the staff here are what makes this location so great! They are always so friendly, fast, and efficient! I have been to other locations where there was a lack of friendliness and efficiency, and these qualities really make the difference. Trader Joe's also still manages to have reasonable prices in DC which I appreciate. Lastly, they have free parking which is always a bonus.

Probably a similar story for many others. Once we started to venture out we made small trips and avoided any large stores. Because of my food allergies (gluten being a big one but not the only) we live on a restricted diet and focus on organic and local food where possible. Until the pandemic we preferred Yes! Market on Columbia road. Well street market had opened almost across the street but we had not ventured there because of our cloistered lives. Since we started venturing out we have gone to this store and found it quite good. It has plenty of organic and wholesome options and in many cases has a wider verity compared with the smaller Yes! I am finding that they compliment each other in that there are items I prefer from one store or the other. I am glad to have Street Market in the neighborhood as a great compliment to Yes and a way better alternative to Safeway up the street or the crowded whole foods on p street. If you are in admo or kalarama I recommend this as a great option.

However the entire back row is filled with beer and wine. I only needed to get a couple of things for the apartment. I got a 25oz bottle of Pellegrino mineral water, a box of Cheerios cereal, and a bushell of Dole bananas. There was only a single cashier working, and the line was a little long, but it moved along eventually. The store is clean and cramped full of items. I would characterize it more like a drug store than anything, and I'm glad that it's here.
