We really wanted a steak so we ended up where locals told us to go. This may be the only place in the city to actually get one. We were seated immediately and the hostess was really sweet. Our waitress came by quickly and asked about drinks and if we wanted rolls. Someone had already said you have to ask for honey cinnamon butter bc they won't bring it out. They brought 3 rolls and these were the best rolls I've ever had. Like so good. She asked if we wanted more but we declined even though we could have eaten a few more! We got a fried chicken salad and the western burger with fries. No steak ik we opted for something else to try first. The food came out at a good temp. Well guess I should've gotten the steak bc what I got wasn't worth the ridiculous price I paid for bad food. Fried fish onion rings(which she brought me French fries instead by mistake) and etoufee dinner and my husband got fried shrimp plate. Only thing good was the warm bread rolls. Fish was good, etoufee was like eating can cream mushroom soup with crawfish in it, so thick my spoon could stand up in it. Onion rings(which she brought me afterwards) and shrimp and hush puppies the batter was chewy like it was old or something. Had terrible taste and texture. I dined at this restaurant on 14 Mar.. made my order of chicken fingers, broccoli and coke zero. After waiting beyond 20+ minutes for my order... i received it. I normally dont cut my tender, but on this occasion i did... to find out the middle was raw...i would espect such incompetence at Taco Bell, but not Leesville crown jewel. To make matter worse..the staff only took the fingers off the bill and wipe the bill clean. This is poor customer service.. to have me wait such a long time for my meal, only to be served raw meat... Great food from my experience. Bacon wrapped shrimp, bbq wings, and egg rolls for appetizers was great. 2 shots of crown pretty good. I also had the half rack of bbq ribs which was as fantastic not much smoked flavor but good ribs and I also had the baked potato. Best restaurant I had in Leesville so far. Was looking for a good steak house and I found this place with the help of YELP The building looks like an old barn on the outside and from the inside lol this place even smells like a country steakhouse. I bet you just sniffed hahahahahah I was by myself so I sat at the bar, the bar area was nice size and decorated with country decor. I would definitely not recommend this place for watching sports events. You have three TVS that if you sit at the bar would be perfect however these were small and one wasn't even turned on. Now they do have bigger TVS but you would have to turn sideways in your chair or turn you head the entire time. Bartender was very friendly and helpful. I had the steak and it was maybe 6 out of 10. This is a Leesville staple. Had ice cold local Louisiana beer by a flying tiger. The menu is quite large, Good selection. All selections look pretty good, a good portion of Cajun items too. Wagon Master is really a mixed bag. The service is okay, the restaurant is usually kept clean. As for the food, the steaks are pretty good, almost always cooked to your specification. However, everything on the menu might as well be reheated Sysco food. The "Homemade" Country Fried Sirloin might as well be school cafeteria food. The breading falls off in a single, solid form, the meat itself resembles frozen hamburgers, and all in all lacks any flavor. The food is also pricey for what you're getting. It's not hard to rack up a bill upwards of a hundred dollars for three people. If you want a steak, this is where to go in Leesville, everything else is mediocre. read more

7/6/25 Ordered sirloin tips with peppers &onions. Had that item many times years ago when I was in Leesville the onion/pepper mixture was from a frozen bag that one would get in grocery store, not fresh cut at all. Sirloin was ordered medium rare, it was well done and tuff, very dry and it use to come over rice, rice was considered a side now and it came in a separate bowl. It was very dry, no gravy or drippings to go on rice, basically I had a cold bowl of rice. My wife had loaded baked potato, it was cold, butter would not even melt I will say that Abby the waitress was very nice, she is the only reason we didn't send it all back and leave. Food here is good. It reminds me of a local version of Texas Roadhouse. My go to is the habanero bacon cheeseburger cooked medium. It has a very nice kick to it and the meat is always juicy and cooked to perfection. We also order the three for all to start off with and it comes with cheese sticks, boneless buffalo wings and southwestern eggrolls. So good. I do not like the fried pickles here. They are extremely salty. They come out with complimentary bread with cinnamon butter which is a plus. Downside is it always takes forever for food to come out no matter what time you come or what day. But they have different sports games playing on the tv at all times and it's pretty spacious inside. read more

Wagon Masters, what can I say? Some days you were a 5 star experience and the best place around. Some days you were a 1 star experience and i could've gotten a better meal from McDonald's. Service was amazing sometimes, and others it was lacking. It just really depends on the day and time that you go. But all-in-all, it was a hard 3 stars. Bread and cinnabutter included with your meal, which is always great. I've had the rocky top chicken, the cowboy ribeye, and a few of the burgers. After about 7 visits, i can say the rocky top chicken is one of the best dishes there. Check it out. read more

Prices have really gone up. It's $3.49 for tea, and they have added charges to most sides with an entree. The menu makes it hard to tell which sides come with the entree, and the waitress doesn't let you know if there's an extra charge. I ordered a steak with a sweet potato (no butter but add cinnamon sugar). .... Never got the sugar even after asking the waitress and the server. There's other places to eat that aren't as expensive for what you get. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but it's getting out of my price range for Leesville. read more

Service was pretty good and the wait staff was attentive but not super helpful with any menu questions. Food was okay. Cactus chicken was underwhelming with a single small chicken breast for $14. Onion rings were a little under cooked and needed more seasoning. Fried fish and sweet potato fries were pretty good. The place was decorated well but the floors needed work. Walking the hallway to the bathroom there was definitely an oily residue that I assume came from not changing the mop water often enough. I'll start at the top: I began with a Manhattan (Makers Mark). It was served in a smallish martini glass and had Cleary been shaken with ice. The martini glass was just over half full maybe 2/3 and my very watered down presumably from being shaken with ice. To me the drink appeared very small yet I was charged for a double shot of makers. When I ordered, I requested the ribeye steak, cowboy cut plain on a plate not in their signature skillet over Cajun grilled onions. when the plate came out, they had made it to their menu style and not to my request. I was asked if I wanted to have that rectified and I said that I would take it as it was. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious flavor and did not feel like there was an over abundance of seasoning. I would order that style in the future. The quality of the cut was decent and properly cooked, but a little on the thin side for my liking. The baked potato, though slightly small, was perfectly cooked with a dark lightly salted skin. Our service was very good, and the price was reasonable, if not slightly on the high side, although you do get your two sides included. The bar staff was friendly and helpful and the ambience was a rustic steakhouse feel however, the music service they use was incredibly good. I expected an abundance of country music and it turned out to be a very pleasant mix of older soul, folk and light rock. I know I rated this with only three stars and that's mainly based on the cocktail turn off and not getting my order correct. I would certainly dine there again and recommend it to others, but just beware when you order a cocktail. If you're having a bourbon/whiskey-based drink, maybe ask for it on the rocks or neat. read more

Since we moved here (2013) I randomly give them a chance to show me they improved their quality - they haven't. I guess if you're one of a few steakhouses within 50 miles you don't have to improve or have the highest quality - they certainly rely on being in a remote area! If you want rare or well done steak you'll get it here; anything in between don't bother going here total waste of money and time. Regardless of how you want your steak you're either going to get rare or well done. Ordered a grilled chicken salad to-go minus cucumbers. Got home and the lettuce was wilted and far from fresh. Cucumbers were in the salad when requested to omit. The chicken was ABSOLUTELY FLAVORLESS. I will never order this again. (It's not like I'm a regular, this is my first time ordering from here without it being a hail and farewell for work). The tuna steak came out way over salted and raw. We sent it back for it to come back more salty and still raw. My wife always get the same dish and couldn't even eat it. The spoon provided to eat crawfish étouffée should be a larger soup spoon, not what would normally be used for ice tea. My wife and I went here after googling restaurants in Leesville. We looked at their online menu and found Mesquite Grilled Chicken Breast for $14.59. Once seated with a menu, we saw the price was $16.99. We assumed they hadn't updated their website but didn't say anything. Upon receiving our ticket we were charged $18.59 for each meal. I brought the price discrepancies to the attention of our waitress and then the manager. Both stated the website is not theirs - a ridiculous statement if you view their website. Both also insisted we ordered Mesquite Grilled Chicken Tenders and not Breast. Neither of us had ever heard of Grilled Chicken Tenders except on a salad - so of course we had not. In addition, a review of the menu showed they only offered Grilled Chicken Tenders for lunch: We were there after 4pm. They both said it was $18.59 because we had specifically requested something not on the dinner menu. Again ridiculous. The manager simply brushed us off and said have "A Blessed Day"! As bad as this experience was, the Grilled Chicken looked like something you would give your dog and tasted worse. read more

They did it again with service and steak tastiness. This is my third year in a row with sometimes twice a year visiting this steakhouse. I asked for medium cooked and they delivered a medium cooked steak hot and delicious. Loaded baked tater was delicious every bite. The rolls and butter are dangerous as they will fill you up with the cinnamon butter and buttery tasting rolls.
