I've gone here a few times and every time except for the first time we had a problem, forgot a whole order on a two person check, so half the order. When I walked in today I've never seen the self serve sign, while reading it an older lady came up. I asked her about the sign just to double check I wouldn't just seat myself and be rude. She just stared at me and my husband. I asked again no reply just I blank stare, so he asked and got a reply..... After she had to have noticed since she was very short and never checked on us or to refill water, mind you there is two other tables, not a packed house two other tables that had been already served. Better Mexican food at Chilis. Not the first self serve restaurant I've been to but definitely the worst. Wife saw them pour her margarita from a jug behind the bar and couldn't taste any alcohol. Paid $1.50 for chips and $4 for two of the smallest bowls of salsa I've ever seen and they didn't even remember to give it to us with the rest of our food. The worker who puts the food on the table where you get up and get it yourself was busy taking shots behind the bar. So we got up 4 times before eating to ask for help. Food was the equivalent of peewee-league ball park concession. Neither of us ate half our plates. Needless to say we will not be returning. I would give a zero star review if I could. The only thing separating this place from a crappy food truck is air conditioning. read more

I feel like this rating is more based on the experience i expected to have....versus what we had. Preamble: I had heard from a coworker who has been here 3x now, that this is THE place for mexican food around. Nowhere is better. I HAD to try it. She knew i would LOVE it. Came in with my girlfriend and had a weird encounter before being seated. I think maybe the hostess couldnt hear us... no idea. They set us at a table that was in direct line of fire, of a wall fan. Not just any ordinary wall fan, but like an F5 Tornado wall fan. Any time it hit our table, it blew napkins into the next one. It blew humps of salsa off my chip. Really though, it was an aggressive amount of air. We ordered a margarita each, both mango... after about 10 minutes we found out they didnt have mango and had to redecide. We order, food comes. My burrito meal did not include rice or beans, so i had to order it separately....which i despise. Like, just add $1 to the meal and put it on the same plate.... it CANT cost that much more... but whatever. $3 or so later i have rice and beans. I had to order another side of $2 sour cream. Get my burrito and it is considerably smaller than what i had expected. So after my initial chips, salsa, queso, and my burrito... i was closer to $17. I left hungry. I feel like the expectation bar for Festival was set so high because of my coworker... and it was a sub-par experience for me. Maybe, we will try again, but it won't be anytime soon. Worst "Mexican" restaurant in the area. I grew up on the Texas Mexican border and can tell they have canned beans. Their rice was stiff and not thoroughly cooked. The only good thing was their cheese enchiladas which are impossible to mess up. The steak tacos were so tough, store bought tortillas that taste like plastic I asked for avocado and cheese. Avocado was expired and has yellow cheese, beans tastes sour. Save your $ and go anywhere else but here. I used to go to this place faithfully about 9 years ago because their fish tacos really did it for me. This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool staff is friendly and your treated as if your a long time customer. They workers seem to enjoy great conversation and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. This place has the only functional patio but the food is less than average, expensive for what you get and unless you sit at the bar the service is terrible. To be honest we tried it 3 times the best service was with a girl that it was her first day. We went in one night and they wouldn't seat us. There were open tables- they said the kitchen was too backed up. We thought with a new location that this would be great and close to base. It is a great location but not quality anything for what you pay. 20 mins to get a drink 20 more mins to get the app then came our good and it was cold. Because I didn't put a tip on the ticket they made me come get my own plate, but my friend put a tip on her ticket and they brought it to her. I always put the tip on the table. I love the dishes I get from them; however, the last time I called in an order for birria tacos, they said there was a minimum of 3 to get the consome. First of all, they never fill the container completely. Secondly, I've order two the very first time I tried them like 2weeks ago and it came with the consome. Thirdly, what's a birria taco without it. Just ridiculous! It's already bad enough that only one person can check you out for take out and the other person is only for in house. From the craftsmanship to the paintings on the wall are something that really makes this place pop and shows that the owner of this place really wanted to make this place special and one of a kind.
