This spot is a gem in a tiny town. They serve breakfast all day, but I opted for a dinner entree. The fried fish po boy was delicious. The fish was perfectly fried, piled high, and not dripping with oil. I was not a fan of the French fries--I should have subbed those out for coleslaw. For dessert, I was sold on the turtle cake once I learned that it's made from scratch by the owner's grandma. I never get dessert with my meal, but this was worth it! Definitely a good place if you like that home cooking flavor. Nice exterior and interior and friendly service. They have a good menu selection and I really need to try the breakfast also. Sort of reminds me of Piccadilly food or maybe Cracker Barrel and honestly this city needed it. This place is truly a hidden gem in Leesville! My family of four ordered: * Chicken fried steak with fries, red beans, and a fried pistolette * Gumbo with potato salad and a fried pistolette * Grilled pork chop dinner with a side salad and steamed vegetables * Kids' chicken tender meal When my side salad arrived, the lettuce wasn't up to my standards, so I sent it back. The manager came over right away to ask what the issue was. To me, it was obvious--the lettuce had soggy, brown pieces--but I simply explained that I'm very picky about lettuce. She told me it was from a fresh bag that had just been opened, but I decided to switch my side to the rice and gravy instead. I'm glad I did! The rice and gravy was delicious. The gravy was rich, dark brown, thick, and coated the rice perfectly. The steamed vegetables were the only disappointment, as they seemed like they had been microwaved. However, the grilled pork chop, although thin, was seasoned well and cooked perfectly, staying surprisingly juicy. The chicken fried steak was excellent, with crispy fries alongside it. The red beans were decent but nothing particularly memorable. The gumbo was very good, and the potato salad paired with it perfectly. The kids' chicken tenders were outstanding--juicy, well-seasoned, and fried to perfection while still staying moist inside. Overall, this is definitely a restaurant I'd return to. The staff handled my concern professionally, the service was great, and most of the food was excellent. Next time, I'll simply skip the salad. read more

My son brought us here for brunch saying it was one of their favorite places to go. For a late weekday morning, they were still pretty crowded but we waited less than 10 minutes to be seated. There was a steady flow of customers the whole time we were there. It's modern rustic inside and out, and the ladies who work here are very sweet and helpful. My husband and I took a long time to decide what we wanted because so many things sounded good and our waitress was very understanding. We started off with an appetizer, Boudin Balls. For those who do not know, imagine a dirty rice fritter ball. Served hot, with ranch dressing on the side, they were savory, spicy and oh so good. Definitely recommend. My husband had the Red Beans & Rice. Topped with a savory sausage link and accompanied by cornbread, the whole dish was what you'd expect and want from a Cajun place. He ate every bite. My son had the Eye Popper; biscuit & white gravy, scrambled eggs, and an order of cheese grits on the side. It's one of his favorite things to order there. I had the Shrimp Étoufée with a pistolette (fried bread roll). The shrimp were large and cooked just right, tender and not chewy. The sauce and rice were creamy with warm spices, just right. The pistolette was perfect to help soak up the delicious sauce. At the end, we were very full so did not try any dessert. Our loss. The French fries are crispy, not some sad, soggy leftovers from under a heat lamp. I've had the Breakfast Po'boy--two fried eggs (over well), bacon, and cheese on a New Orleans-style bun. It's filling, no complaints there. She gets the Short Stack, three buttermilk pancakes with butter and syrup, plus bacon and two eggs fried over well. It gets the morning going. They've got your classic comfort foods: think hamburger steak, pork chops, or chicken fried steak with gravy. If you're trying to eat lighter, they've got a grilled chicken salad that's good too. Breakfast menu's got enough to pick from, so you're not stuck. Drinks are what you'd expect: Coke, sweet tea, chocolate milk, lemonade, and the like. Was in Leesville for a family event and I stumbled upon this new restaurant. To my surprise this place was good and it's one of two restaurants that I've been to in the area that actually feels like a real restaurant. Interior of the place is cute, the seating options for the elderly though is not thought out. Hard wood benches in the booths that are a little difficult for some folks to get in and out of and the metal chairs at the tables are just not comfortable ones. Staff is super friendly, our waitress Kristen was so sweet. The menu itself offers a lot. Word of mouth, I was told the breakfast was better than lunch/dinner. So of course I came for breakfast. My daughter loved the kids menu and got a kick out of the names. She liked her food which was a pancake and bacon. I ordered the shrimp and grits, with a side biscuit and gravy. I actually really liked my meal, it was very filling and full of flavor. The biscuit and gravy though, I loved the gravy. Presentation was nice, portion size to cost was a tad off in my opinion, but I was okay spending the money because this is one of the better restaurant options in the area. The southern windows need to be covered with darkening film to stop some of the bright overpowering sunlight that comes through them. And the inner booths along the outer walls are way too narrow between the seat backs and the table for larger customer. The last time there, around 11:15 on a Sunday, after bringing the drink order, the waitress took forever to get back to take the meal order. Commented one time in passing by, seeing if all was good. Then passed 8-10 times by after finishing meal, one time asking if a drink refill was needed, then took way too long to come with the bill for the meal. Good thing my wife likes this place, especially if this is the customer service and ambiance. read more

First off this place calls them selfies a cajun restaurant and all their seafood is imported for east Asia. It's written right on top right corner of the menu. Their menu is not what they have online so don't bother looking at it. It's less than half the size in restaurant. The red beans doesn't come with rice. U have to ask for rice for an extra $3 for a little cup. The fried pork chop tasted like it was old. Had a sour taste. Waitress said that's from the batter. Yea ok!!! I don't think so. The fried catfish tasted like it came out the ditch. Now I have to said our friends did have the fried chicken poboy and she loves it. Fresh cut chicken. And my wife had the Philly cheesesteak was good also. I would NOT recommend this restaurant if you are looking for seafood read more

Nice, clean place to stop in for some delicious food. Starter salad was so fresh, mozzarella sticks were cooked to perfection, and my shrimp & grits were delicious! Lots of shrimp and crawfish tails in the sauce as well. We loved it! Will certainly be back.
