My favorite udon place EVER!!…read more Yume Ga Arukara is hands down my favorite udon spot ever. The udon is perfectly chewy, and the beef is so flavorful. The menu is small, but honestly, they do what they do SO well. I highly recommend getting the cold udon over the hot, especially the spicy cold niku udon, which is my absolute favorite! Sometimes I'll even add extra beef when I'm extra hungry. I used to go to the Porter Square location, so I'm so happy they opened one in Seaport! There's usually a wait, but trust me, it's 100% worth it. Every time I'm back in town, I make sure to stop by. It's that kind of place you just keep coming back to.

I ordered the Spicy Cold Niku Udon and it was really refreshing, especially since we were visiting Boston during a heat wave. The udon was good, but honestly I don't think it was good enough that I would be willing to wait in a super long line for it lol. I know this place gets a lot of hype, but I would probably just aim to come during a less busy time if I wanted to eat here again. The restaurant itself is also pretty small, so I wouldn't recommend coming with a large group. I think a party of 2-4 would be much more manageable, especially during peak dining hours!

I ordered just the Spicy Roasted Miso Avocado Sushi Roll (4 pieces), ~$10. This served as a great snack! It was flavorful, but of course had no meat because they do vegan dishes + ramen here. I remember coming here before, a while ago, and not being the biggest fan of their ramen. Not really because it was meatless but the broth was a bit too thick for my own personal liking. So, I would definitely come back again and get this avocado roll! I might consider trying their ramen again too. Staff were very kind!

You order up at the counter, and they give you a buzzer that buzzes when your ramen is ready to grab at the counter. The ramen was ready in under 10 minutes. First, the broth was remarkably complex and rich, with an endless depth that never became too overbearing -- perfect. The noodles were perfectly cooked as well, served up in a decent portion. Toppings-wise, you get tofu, soy crumble, corn, arugula, and sprouts, along with plenty of sesame seeds. I would've liked some proper greens (other than a few raw arugula leafs), but that's the most minor of complaints. Service was decent enough -- informative and helpful in describing the options. All in all, top-notch vegan ramen. Highest recommendation.

A small complimentary cabbage dish came out and was nice and crunchy with a hint of spice. Along with the pekking duck, we also got an order of green beans and kung pao chicken. The pekking duck was okay, I kinda wish it came with baos instead of the thin wrapping. i think paying $50 for half a duck was kinda steep, especially when the portion did not seem like half of a duck. I think the green beans were my favorite and had god flavor. The kung pao chicken was okay at best. Overall, $150 for three dishes was not the vibe. We came for the pekking duck and left kinda still hungry.

I thought my first visit was just fine. The spicy oil seaweed salad appetizer was nice and refreshing which a bit of a bite from the seaweed pieces, which I liked. A friend and I also split their big plate chicken and hand pulled beef noodles - I thought both were just fine and I found the broth to be quite light and clean when I am used to deeper and richer flavors in this type of Chinese cuisine, so I wasn't overly impressed initially. I've gone back a couple of times and I think I found the dishes that really sold me. I absolutely love their chili oil beef rib noodles - it is one of their signature dishes for a reason. I think their chili oil has excellent flavor, the noodles have a great biang biang/qq texture, and the beef rib was so tender. Both of their mushroom appetizers - the fried ones and the woodear mushroom salad - are also spectacular. For some reason I am just not a fan of their noodle soups like their Lanzhou beef noodle soup, and much prefer their saucey noodles.

It's tightly packed but spaced well enough, given the small space. Mainly soba and udon with both hot and cold options. Compared to other udon spots in the area (Yume, Futago), I think the noodle texture here stands out to me. They're slightly dinner but they're cooked slightly al dente, which I appreciated. I would say they are similar to Korean kalguksu noodles, which are hand-pulled and hand-cut noodles also often served in a soup format. I got the sukiyaki, which had a great sweet and soy sauce-forward broth, a poached egg, and topped with julienned scallions. I thought it was solid but not outstanding, knock my socks off!

I was craving the their spicy classic hand-pulled noodles today, and they were as good as I remembered. Their website is woefully out of date, as the noodles (no additions) are now $9.40 vs. the $6.87 listed on the website menu!
