Sat in the back room to get away from the cold, and noticed a lot of issues with cleanliness. Walls were dirty with old food spatters, and there are several places where delayed maintenance/repairs has caused the place to look uncared for. Bathroom needs a very thorough cleaning/upgrade. Other than the fruit plate, which was very fresh, my breakfast meal was not good and as a result I ate a few bites and left the rest. My dining partner said her food was very good, except for the biscuits and gravy which had no flavor other than tasting like undercooked sausage. The baked goods were all excellent, as always. Coffee was weak but tasted fresh. Hoping management addresses some of these issues soon. Cherry House has long been a family favorite when we're in the area, and it is so disappointing for it to not live up to the great experiences we've had there in the past.

We have been visiting for the past 38 years. "This is our 38th year," said Owner Tony Satariano. "We are now at the magical number of 5 million lights." "And honestly, once it's up, it's truly a lot of fun," Satariano said. "Everybody comes here... They're all in a good mood. It's a universal feeling and fun time, no matter if you're my age or your age." We arrive 5:15 - 5:30 PM, and enjoy the grand illumination. Dress for the weather as much of the event is outdoors.

Generous portions - I was only able to finish about half. I didn't love my turkey sausage; would opt for the real deal or bacon in the future. I was killing time while waiting for my daughter who was at an appointment in town, so I took my coffee and sat in the hotel lobby for a while before venturing out to discover Yellow Springs. Side note: I discovered that the famed Antioch College looks like it's on its last legs, but that is unrelated to my breakfast at Ellie's! Plenty of parking available on the street in front of Ellie's on this freezing winter day.
