My roomates and I just had the absolute best experience at this Waffle House! The food was amazing as always but most importantly, the service was fantastic. Our Waitress, Tara was the most genuine, funny, and attentive waitress. We couldn't get enough of her she was absolutely amazing. Next time we come to this location we will request for her to be our Waitress because we enjoyed her presence and service so much. Tara is a precious human that needs to be protected at all costs! As far as Waffle Houses go, this one is pretty solid. Star was a wonderful server: so friendly, attentive, and positive. Food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. Only lost a star for the cleanliness - which is to be expected from a WH. 93 sanitation score isn't the worst, but you can definitely see and feel why it got that. read more

For a fast breakfast, it's hard to beat Waffle House. We don't have Waffle Houses in my neck of the woods, so it was a pleasure to be able to get some breakfast at this place. The service is quick, and the food comes out fast. The staff was friendly, and the food was cheap and average tasting. I'm always a fan of Waffle House hash browns and toast. Their coffee leaves some to be desired. It was clean here, and the parking was easy. My favorite thing about Waffle House is that they have a juke box with waffle themed songs. Some generous soul left a large number of credits on the juke box, and I got to listen to several waffle songs! They've got at least a dozen songs about waffles! They serve up a decent breakfast, and will fill you up. read more

Ok the four stars is for the staff. They were all friendly and welcoming and quick to serve. Oh and the bacon was cooked just right - not to soft and not too crunchy. However the waffle is a no go - it was basically a pancake cooked in s waffle iron. Very soft and no crunch on the outside and cakey (if that's a word - haha). i don't know what it is about waffle houses' in this town. i've been to 5309 s college location twice and it was absolute garbage. so hopefully this one would be better ? no. there where 3 tables when we walked in and no clean tables. which is understandable. we wait for a table. understandable. our server takes 15 minutes just to ask us what we want to drink. another 15 minutes before we get our food but i can see it just sitting there. we finally get our food and it's cold. if your server can't handle 2 tables then maybe they shouldn't work there. don't waste your time or money on either waffle house on south college. read more

They're crazy. I ordered 2 $6.60 meals, and asked for 2 extra eggs and 2 extra pieces of bacon added on to ONE of the meals. It suddenly went from being roughly a $15 breakfast for both, to them requesting $29. For 2 Waffle House meals, not even all star meal. This is THE WAFFLE HOUSE. $15 breakfast each? Crazy, lol. If I wanted to eat a $15 breakfast, it'd be better quality than the Waffle House. I think she saw I had cash and wanted to hold on to the remainder. We ended up going to the Waffle House down the street in monkey junction, and they charged us less than $20 and had it all written out and explained. Avoid this spot. read more

The restaurant is clean obviously from being just opened. However the staff if more interesting with what's on Facebook rather than their customers. Our waitress forgot to give us our check so we literally had to wait 15min before my boyfriend had to get up to go to her and get our check. All in all I will not be returning and continue to stay with the monkey junction one. As far as food the hashbrowns were burnt, but the sand which was awesome. Coffee was hot and tasted well, but I will not be returning. read more

I have to give 2 stars because I cant tell you about the food. I went in with my toddler for breakfast. I saw on the menu there were 'regular' waffles and pecan waffles. I asked our server if the different batters were prepared separately or if there was cross contamination. He was too happy to tell me at a decent volume that there was in fact cross contamination. All the batters are cooked in the same waffle makers. Shame on you waffle house. That couldve been a very bad situation for my toddler and I! read more

I concur with the record about the staff being preoccupied with things other than the customer. On Christmas night, there are six staff. Two white males both leaning over the counter on their phones. (I'm white fyi). The African American staff are having to work double to cover up for these two gentlemen who are (still on their phones) defining laziness. For our meal; didn't receive drinks until AFTER food was brought to table. I ordered a cheeseburger. Instead of telling me they were out of buns, they put it on heavily over-buttered toast. The larger white male who I suppose was a manager questioned why. (I was never asked if toast was ok) I also ordered a blueberry waffle. AFTER my wife and Son were done eating the waitress asked me if I still wanted my waffle. Really? I would have still liked it with my family's meal, not after the check was brought to the table. The Waffle House in monkey junction or market street or CB road are close. Do yourself s favor and drive the extra five minutes to one of those. This location isn't worth the frustration! read more

My husband and I came in for a late morning breakfast. I admittedly came in with low expectations but honestly this place was shameful. The staff was unprofessional and it was just dirty. Food was on the ground, our counter space was never even wiped from the previous guest. I looked around to try to identify a manager and simply could not. I went to the Waffle House at lunch time and it was not busy. There were a few people at the counter and one table was taken. When I walked in the waitress asked if I was alone I replied yes and she walked away. 15 minutes later, she never returned to take my order or even offer a glass of water. There were 3 waitresses and a cook...who was not cooking. So being busy was not the issue. They were all standing around talking to each other. Several times they looked my way or walked past and never offered service. I eventually go up and walked out. I would not recommend to anyone! read more
