I have only been to a few Waffle Houses and this one was decent. I wasn't blown away but it was an experience. I ordered the waffle with bacon and orange juice. The waffle tasted fine however, I wish it was cooked a little harder. The bacon was delicious as always. My friends order the bacon egg and cheese with hashbrowns and biscuit with gravy. They enjoyed their meals as well. The service was great. We had to wait to become available but it did not take long. Our waitress was very friendly and hospitable. There was a disagreement between some waiters unfortunately, that changed the energy of the restaurant. The ambiance was cool. Typical waffle house decor. We came from out of town to visit family and on our way back home, we decided to stop for breakfast. I had never been to a Waffle House before. This place is really small and there aren't many places to sit. We ended up at the counter. When we first walked in we noticed how hectic and busy the place was. You have a clear view of the staff cooking food and wow were they moving! Our server came over after we had time to look at the menu (not many options) and took our order. I got the Patty Melt Bowl which was what amounted to MAYBE a half of a hamburger patty that was very overcooked and dry over shredded hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were actually pretty good, thankfully. Not only was she waiting on me and others, but she was taking time to train a 'janitorial' worker on the finer points of COVID-19 sanitizing and teaching the cook how to keep the grits from clumping while cooking. I asked her if she was the boss. She said no, but she felt like she was filling the role. If the owner/operator reads this, they should clearly consider her for a significant raise or promotion. The staff, in general, was quite pleasant, and constantly busy cleaning, stocking or just making the place better. I am new to this area, and I am looking for somewhere to relax on Sunday for breakfast. I am a fan of Waffle House, but have been away (California) for many years. This place is tight! It definitely fills up quick. But once you're seated, the food comes quick. The menu is decent size and they have some lunch items on it as well. But if you ask me, the breakfast is where it's at! The prices are unbeatable and the portions are average or above average depending on what particular thing you order. I'll be honest with you all, I frequent this Waffle House. And not for brunch, breakfast, waffles, and eggs. I eat meals. Real meals here. Hamburgers, cheese steaks, and the like. We usually end up here for a very late dinner, say 9 or 10 PM. We start on the dollar menu (okay, some of those things are 3-4 dollars), and just order till we get to around $7-8 bucks a piece. Depending on who is cooking, the food is either A-OK (3 stars) or last night when Lisa cooked as good as it gets (5 stars). I'll give the overall 4 stars. Tip: Ask for the "full" menu. There are tons of things on it, and the prices are more clear.The full menu will give you the best bang for your buck. Friend and I arrived around 9:30 on Sunday morning and were able to walk right in. By the time we left there was a line for seats/tables. Was a little worried when I overheard the cook saying "how do you make a poached egg?" but my eggs arrived and were almost perfectly softly poached. This is the Waffle House I go to the most, and that's a few times a week. They generally do OK - my orders are right most of the time, the check is usually right, although when they make mistakes on the check they make mistakes in my favor as often as mistakes in their favor. I correct them either way, though, if they left something off that I added to my ticket after my initial order I'll point it out. It's not like it's expensive. They are charming for their friendliness and the way one particular waitress always remembers what I like to drink and pours it when I come in. Bathrooms: Men, Women (locking single-user facilities). Mmm, like eating a slice of America! I came in for a standard, well made cheeseburger and that was exactly what I got. It almost seems like they toasted one side with cheese, then put the other side with the meat on it afterward. Very fresh ingredients and a great end to a work day.
