First Food is really good no complaints there and the restaurant was clean, the table and chairs…read morewere comfortable and it was decorated nicely. The problem was all regarding service and customer interaction. The server seemed not interested in doing her job or Just because she's young. My coffee cup had lipstick on it. She did replace it but never gat asked if we wanted refills. She also asked what bread we wanted with our meals and said we could get white toast, a biscuit or even a pancake. She did not tell us the pancake as our choice of bread would be up charged. I ordered hash browns they brought out the home fries instead, they did send out some hash browns to make it right. Then these people have the audacity to put tip suggestions of 30, 25, and 20 percent. Uh, come on. Nothing in that joint comes close to warranting a 30 percent tip. All that said the food was good and I would go back but based on the lack of personality and eagerness from the waitress our first impression wasn't great. So, you want a good tip, act like it, refill drinks, get the order right, inform customers of extra charges. The wait for the food wasn't long but the wait to pay did as she never bought us the check some guy just asked if we were ready to pay so we went up there and did. Then he tried to rush my wife into pushing the pay button before she had a chance to read the screen to see what exactly was being charged.

I haven't ate much from here but what I had was delicious I ordered the Boudin omelette with buttered toast and cheese grits. Let me tell you the boudin was so good let alone had it in a omelette, they put a good amount of boudin in the omelette and the eggs was very fluffy and to top it all the omelette had white gravy on top it was crazy good. the grits was fresh and i always complement my grits with cheese everything on my breakfast visit hit just right. i will definitely come back, this is my go to spot in the area for a good hearty breakfast.

Let me try to convince you to try it first. Near the Louisiana- Texas border this cafe is attached to a truck stop and casino. The inside has a country feel to it and the staff were more than friendly. Been to my share of these kind of places and they are hit / miss at best. This one is a hit for once. The pepper jack boudin egg roll is different but worth the try. We went simple with both grilled and fried chicken and surprisingly it was good. Prices are more than reasonable and overall it was a good experience as we were pressed for time to get back on the road. Like most greasy spoons the restrooms are not great but good enough for a quick wash up. Didn't have time to play the slots but since my Cajun is a bit rusty , wasn't sure where to cash out if I won.

The hostess was just doing her job and this woman turns to the hostess who was waiting on it to get busy and goes "Hey, you can be sitting here unless you make 2.13/hr, yk the waitresses". I think that's some bs, and today when I visited, as usual, that same hostess got pulled outside by the male manager, and lectured. I've noticed for a while that this hostess gets mistreated a lot, and today. I notice Cheryl is always yelling at the hostess. The hostess came from the kitchen area, and was missing her name tag and in tears, I wish that old woman would be nicer or go to another establishment. Diana, she's an amazing hostess, she's funny and loves to cut up. Her personality is outstanding, I wish she'd be treated better
