Poor Service. Placed an app order. Food was not ready when I arrived. The manager ignored the issue that the food was not ready. She closed the drive-up window as I was speaking. I went inside to request a refund. She was slow with processing the refund. As I waited, I noticed several cars having to pull out of the line to wait for orders that were likely ordered online or in app. She offered no apology for my inconvenience, She actually said nothing; just handed the receipt over as if her failing was mine. This was once a very good place to get a quick meal. The owners should review how their business is now being operated. Disappointing. read more

THEY STEAL TIPS FROM CUSTOMERS CARDS! This establishment charged my card an extra 20% on top of what the food costs. I get it if I'm sitting down and eating at a restaurant and they are serving me my food and refilling my drinks and clearing my plates and actually WAITING on me. Yes I will absolutely leave a tip. But to charge me an extra 20% after I opt out of tipping, is theft. I ordered for pick up payed for my food, got my receipt, then got a bank notification that was exactly TWENTY PERCENT more than what my receipt says. It's giving, "we steal from our customers when they don't tip us we tip ourselves." And no I dont want you to take something off my order, its not about the $4. It's THE PRINCIPLE!! We went on 1/04/2025 and it was not busy. Service was slow. The salad bar was dirty and had to ask twice for fresh veggies. The seats are already nasty with smeared food. The sneeze guard was dirty too. Whoever redecorated did an awful job. The booths looked like Helen Keller did all the trim work. The ice cream machine area was a mess. Not impressed. I did an online curbside order online 8/7/23. The online order was scheduled for a promised time of 2:45 PM. When I arrived, the order was not ready. When I walked in the order the cashier stated the order had not come through. I was simply told a statement of your order is not processed yet. I proceeded to sit down by the counter and wait for my order. Someone brought me my order 20 minutes after it was promised. The server gave me NO explanation or apology. I proceed home with my order only to find that ingredients (butter and chives) were left off of my plain Jane baked potato. I normally go to this location when I return to Beaumont, Texas, and they have always provided me with excellent service. This particular day I am unsure what happened; but I am not pleased. The Mac and Cheese is just boxed kraft macaroni and cheese, that's it, nothing special and it cost $3 for a little cup of it when you can buy an entire box for 80 cents. Jason's is a staple for me when I'm traveling in SETX. Consistently good food and service.

I usually visit the Jason's on Dowlen with no issues, so I thought why not try gateway because they're a little closer. I called in a to go order on a Saturday evening with no problems; a papa Joe sandwich and a chicken Alfredo, add a side of marinara meatballs(a regular order of mine.) I was charged and retrieved my food as usual, however, upon checking the bag there was just bare pasta and meatballs in a separate container. My partner goes inside to remedy the order and one of the associates says he will need to pay an additional $12 to get the correct order. I deem this response unacceptable and proceed to make my way inside, the associate was extremely unprofessional to begin with but I did not let that deter me. I politely told him the correct order and he was able to fix it for me. Towards the end of the transaction the associate has a change of attitude and apologizes, explaining he isn't feeling well but here is the correct order. He also explained that it should've been an up charge of $2-$3 dollars but he was overriding said charge because the to go order associate did not take down my order correctly. I wake up the next morning and my card has been charged a tip of the up charge order. Paying $2-$3 dollars extra would not have been a problem, the problem is that the associate explained he would not recharge me then charged my card without authorization. I gave two stars bc the food was good as always, but service not so much. read more

Stopped here on a road trip from Florida to Houston with wife and two small kids. This place hit the spot!! The menu has a little bit of everything for everyone. I saw that Reuben sandwich and decided to try it and it was delicious!! Fresh and stacked! My wife had the baked potato bar and she said it was on point as well. My kids went to town on the fruit, chicken , fries, chips, muffins and free ice cream swirls! The staff was nice to us even though my kids were running around like banshees and making a mess. We kept trying to clean up after them and the staff said it's okay don't worry we got it. They even made conversation with my 3 year old daughter who was trying to talk to them while they were working. The place is spacious and clean. The food was fresh and I could not even finish the Reuben is was so big. I got a to go box and destroyed the rest of the sandwich when I got home to Houston. Well tonight we decided to try something a little different. We decided on Jasons Deli located on Gateway Street in Beaumont Texas. The place is very nice and they're were quite a few people dining. The staff was courteous and friendly. Greeting every customer that came in. Nice to see employees that really enjoy there job. I decided to get a new sandwich called. "The Carmela" which consisted of three meats. Ham, salami, pepperoni melted provolone cheese, spicy piquillo pepper relish on toasted sour dough bread toasted and my fiance ordered the Deli Cowboy which consisted of 1/2 pound pit smoked brisket, cheddar, red onions, barbecue sauce toasted on New Orleans French Bread. Both sandwiches were served with potato chips. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious. You have a choice of a half or whole sandwich. There was a huge salad bar, a large variety of beverages and they even had ice cream for desert. My first experience st Jason's Deli wonderful. First time at a Jason's Deli. Good job overall. I had the beefeater. Great food. But the tea was terrible. I don't know if they mixed up the containers. But it was NOT good. These are usually served cut in half and/or with a toothpick holding everything in place but today I opened up the carryout container to find this... no toothpick, sandwich looked thrown together, avocado nasty appearance and tasted spoiled. Instead of mayo being spread on bread it was smeared on top slice corner. Not warm and fresh but everything was cold, the egg, the bacon it wasn't frozen but cold. This is a service shoutout... I have been to many Jason's Deli, not only in Texas! I can truly say that the Gateway Store is my favorite! What puts it over the top are the people that work there. I'm always greeted with a smile and "How are you"! The reason I write today....I had just gotten a speeding ticket minutes before I walked in. Sierra has the biggest smile on her face and twinkle in her eye....it was like she was glad to see me! She is always kind, polite and professional. My mood was changed instantly. Another "Bravo" goes to Tracy! She always has awesome greeting and happy demeanor. What ever the leadership is doing....keep it up! I can't wait until tomorrow, so I can do it again. I like going to Jason's Deli when I'm in a mood for a salad, their salad bar offers a variety of items - from the regular toppings and dressings to hummus, cold pasta dishes, and even mini gingerbread muffins. If you're not in the mood for the salad you can always order their "Manager's Special" which allows you to pick half of any sandwich and your choice of any cup of soup, or fruit. Or, you can always go the traditional way and just order whatever you'd like. They also have delicious desserts that sometimes vary, depending on the season, but you can always count on cheesecake. As well as, prepackaged items that can be found at the entrance. The restaurant seems somewhat small from outside but offers plenty of room once inside. The only downside about this Jason's Deli is their location. Yes, this is the original location, that's awesome, but The Gateway Plaza lot (where it is located) is in horrible condition and if not careful it can do some damage to your car so, drive carefully and try to avoid the potholes if possible. read more

Wife digs the Manager Special Sammie and Soup combo. I'm partial to the muffuletta. I am, on occasion open to something different. Enter the amilio's chicken southwest something or other. A picture is included. The list of ingredient was impressive. Pico, jicama slaw, guacamole, cheddar and a black bean paste. My tastebuds couldn't determine where the flavor bus was heading. Chicken looked like it was char-grilled. Wife said chipotle but, all I could identify was a dry chicken that was freezer burnt. Black bean smudge was black bean bland. Needed an identity. Guacamole was good. Standard. Pico was MIA. No overt spice, citrus or cilantro. Melted cheddar cheese on top. Sitting on a ciabatta style roll. Nice texture. The sandwich looks as though it was missing a flour tortilla so to be consumed as a wrap. I think The muffuletta is the best choice. read more

Food was delicious as usual! Stopped in to this location although I called the other location on Dowlen to pick up my order. The cashier and maybe the manager offered to get our order and the manager called the other location and cancelled the order. That's pretty awesome customer service. Horribly rude service! Also, be advised that they have a policy that they leave callers on hold until all of the guests in the restaurant have been helped. I was on hold for 10 minutes trying to place a to go order. When I finally got to the restaurant, still on hold, I walked in and the take out cashier called other guests from the dine-in line over to help them and never picked the phone back up. When I spoke to the manager all he said was, "we're short staffed." read more

The all you can eat salad bar was well stocked with fresh options, the baked potato's were HUGE with more than enough of the delicious toppings on the side. I also had a half sandwich with my salad. The manager was very helpful and patient with us as we navigated the many wonderful options for lunch. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the bathrooms were clean even though it was the lunch rush. Such an incredible staff! We were coming through with two busses full of 83 kids and leaders and due to a blowout earlier in the day were running way behind schedule. They not only opened their doors to us after being closed for an hour, but they offered us drinks, restrooms and great food! It wasn't just one employee either, there were six of them in there with smiles and were so welcoming to all of our crazy middle school and high school students! Highly recommend them! read more

The service is incredible. The staff was fast, friendly, and courteous. I ordered the Super Slaw Salmon Salad. The salad portion of the dish was delicious. I loved the nuts and cranberries on top. The salmon was pretty terrible. It was overcooked, dry, and tasted like a piece of frozen fish that was microwaved on high for too long. They had a pretty good looking salad bar, and I still can't believe they have free ice cream. I didn't sample the ice cream, but just the fact that they have it is pretty cool. I would go back, but I wouldn't order a meat/fish dish. read more

I have never been to Jason's deli so today I decided to try it with my mother in law after hearing such good reviews. So of course we walk in and since we are new to this restaurant we take time to look over the menu we approach the cashier to take our order and immediately she has an attitude. Maybe we caught her on a rough day but there was no need for her to belittle us and talk to town us for her having a bad day. Sally Ann is her name, she was rude and sarcastic to me but hopefully she won't be to you if you decided to try out this place. I just know I personally will find another location even if I have to go out of my way I will not come back to the gateway location. Several times I've called in, spent 20 minutes on the phone creating an order, only for them to turn around and tell me "My driver has 2 deliveries at the moment and he gets off at 6PM." and it's not even 5PM yet. This of course after spending 20 minutes on the phone creating my order. And they advertise they deliver until 6PM. So when I start my order at 4:45 PM.. they need 2 hours in advance? read more
