I ordered veal marsala which of that other restaurants and loved it this stuff when they brought it to my table there was no Marsala sauce on it. It was brown gravy with mushroom and spaghetti. The veal was so tough I couldn't chew it. I needed to grind it to eat it. My brother had ordered another plate and it had the same gravy poured all over it. It was nasty. He wouldn't eat his. Well, we are officially in Souptober and I kicked it off with a delicious lunch at Bruno's Italian Kitchen with my grandson. I enjoyed their tomato basil soup --warm, flavorful, and comforting--and paired it with a Caesar salad topped with shaved Parmesan that was absolutely fantastic. Kellen went with the Meat Lovers 10-inch pizza on cauliflower crust . It was thin, fresh, loaded with meats, and he gave it two thumbs up! One thing I love about Bruno's is that they feature a different soup daily for both lunch and dinner. Their lunch menu is affordable, filling, and full of tasty options , making it a perfect spot to enjoy with family or friends. A family member took us here for lunch. I was told this place has been open for some time. The appearance is immaculate. 100% Italians vibes everywhere. They seem to have live music at night on certain days. Loved that aspect. Now onto the food. I ordered a 12" margarita pizza with a side salad. I also tried my mom's eggplant dish. The pizza didn't have much flavor along with my mom's eggplant. Everything was very bland. While I did admire the ambiance of this classic styled Italian restaurant, the food wasn't what I expected. I would give this 5 stars for the Spaghetti Works. It has meatball and sausage in a meat sauce. The sauce is addictive. I love when my spaghetti is drenched in sauce and everytime i get it which is 3x since July 2024 it has never failed me! The reason for the 3 star was their special of the day. I went for my bday at Bruno's for the first time. It took them awhile to seat and serve us. We just sat ourselves since we stood there for quite sometime and we dont know if we needed to be seated. That day they might be understaffed not sure. I ordered Ossobucco with risotto and fresh veg. Been looking forward to eating this. Meat is still undercook. Needed a little more time. Falls of the bone but the meat is still tough not shreddy and soft. Rissotto was a disappointment. They used risotto rice to serve a side of cooked rice. As you can see in the picture its dry and not at all creamy as a rissotto should be. This is not rissotto. The vegetables are fresh and crispy just to my liking. Mom ordered the special of veal chops. Presentation wise it looks so delicious. But she said that the meat was tough. Potatoes and vegetables are great! The 5 star Lunch Pasta: well price for lunch Spaghetti Works is a MUST Chicken Florentine is good. Chicken Venito is a spicy cream and marinara sauce. Delicious! Sausage and Pasta is also good... marinara sauce is GOLD. By the way they serve focaccia bread and theyre soft and delicious!!!! Perfect for dipping into the sauce. Ambience: only been for lunch. Okay, I'll admit it. After "Encanto" was released, whenever this Italian restaurant a mile past Parkdale Mall comes up, one of us says "We don't talk about Bruno's, no no no." This, even though we had never eaten there. That changed when we returned from a weekender in Galveston. We got back early enough to eat lunch somewhere, it was Fathers Day, so we went to Bruno's. I remain shocked that there are so few pizza places in the Coonie Triangle. Bruno's is not a pizza place, but it does have pizza for sale. So we got a 16-inch meat lovers. We were all pretty impressed with what we got. Good strong flavor, not greasy, good amount of meat, it filled the two ladies up and I came close. The inside is as refined as it looks on the outside. Many suits - several families came here straight from church - but we weren't out of place with our more casual clothing. Slightly dark, many painting and plastic greenery all around. And the girl wants to come back because Jada, our waitress, is also into anime and old Disney (Disney before they stopped family entertainment and became leftist propagandists), and the two became fast friends. Bruno's is not a place I'm bragging about. But the food we had was very good indeed. And a large pizza & 3 Cokes was only $30??? That's great. The atmosphere says that it should be more $. This was our first time here, and my wife laughed when I ordered pizza! I told her it's the best way to test how good an Italian restaurant is. If they can't make a pizza, they can't make anything. This time I ordered an Angel Pasta over Chicken, the presentation was very nice, but there was not much taste to it, there was plenty left over to take home, so I can season it to my taste but was very bland. The service was received that day was surprisingly very very good, I say surprisingly because it was a young Hispanic male, couldn't of been more than 20 maybe 22 years old, he didn't write anything down, memorized everything, didn't have to ask for anything and was spot on. Very friendly staff that was willing to let me order off of the limited group menu. We had a large group event so they were only offering a limited menu. However, none of the options were vegan friendly. The server was very understanding and accommodating. She explained that the kitchen could make me a vegan pasta dish and allow me to sub salad for the soup as a starter. Every table was given a basket of bread and olive oil with herbs for dipping. Everyone raved about how good it was. The salad I didn't eat. Not because I didn't like it, but because I wasn't hungry. I was there for an event and had eaten prior to showing up. The pasta dish which consisted of zucchini, squash, mushrooms, peppers and red sauce was flavorful and good. I didn't eat the angel hair pasta but did eat the veggies. Probably won't return as I'm not a huge fan of Italian food and pasta, but seems to be a solid choice if in the area. read more

Have since visited Brunos's several times and am very pleased with the quality and consistency of the food and drinks. We ate at Bruno's last night. Good news: my wife got the grilled snapper- very good, with ample grilled veggies. Bad news: they were out of the risotto that was to be included with each our dinners. They substituted angel hair pasta, no sauce, no butter, no olive oil, no nothing- straight from the boiler. Really bad news: I ordered the special of the evening, the veal chop. What they gave me was a large center cut pork chop Instead. I cook a LOT, and I know the difference. For a $35 bait-and-switch, I was not pleased. I was in a large (20 people) dinner party and didn't want to make a scene. I paid the ticket (20% tip was added on) but spoke to the manager on the way out. She of course denied it. I just need to tip my hat to this amazing business. These people went above and beyond to help my church with a fundraiser to help our teenagers go to teen camp. We held a spaghetti dinner fundraiser and Bruno's hooked us up with lots of bread, salad, and ranch dressing, they were so generous. On top of their amazingly tasting food, this business showed true class and a genuine love for their community. This is my go-to Italian food place from now on!!! read more

What's not to like? Nothing! You know your home as soon as you sit down, the owner and staff are delightful

Service was decent, ticket times were good enough, but the food was completely trash. Ordered the sampler which was bland. The chicken from the sampler was undercooked and skin was gummy. The only thing edible there was the ravioli which was awesome imo. Ordered calamari, which was undercooked and gummy as well. It lacked seasoning, and pretty much all they do is put romano/parm cheese on top. The bread with the oily paste was horrible as well. Bread was not crunchy, no flavor on the bread, and the olive oil garlic paste also was over saturated with oil and little garlic. When you dip your bread in, you taste straight olive oil, no garlic, no seasoning. Ordered the Hawaiian wave and the sangria margarita. The Hawaiian wave was too sweet, and not balanced enough. The sangria margarita was good imo. My wife ordered the chicken parm sandwich, i ordered the Tour De France, and a small cheese pizza for the kids. All the food was bland. The angel hair pasta that comes with the Tour de France was extremely bland, tasted like reduced heavy cream with no seasoning (not even parsley ontop), chicken parm from the tour de france and the chicken parm also lacked any seasoning. It was completely disgraceful. My tour de france came with a lentil soup which was good. The lasagna was decent but there could of been more potential with the dishes. Pizza bland as well. Pizza folded on itself when picked up, sauce had no flavor, and overall just trash. The prices were kinda pricey, and i was extremely disappointed with the lack of seasoning. AGAIN... Service and ambiance were adequate enough, but if you seeking authentic level quality flavor at a italian spot, i would not come here. Lastly, as for service the waiter didnt take plates and cups that were consumed in a timely manner or at all. The young man at the front had his legs up and was on his phone on a clearly personal call. It took him a good 2 minutes to acknowledge us. did he get off his phone? Stop giggling like a school girl? Nope. Acknowledge us verbally? Nope. Waves us to a table in the corner. Nothing verbal out of this "hospitality professional". We wait.... And we wait..... Still more waiting..... Lasagna was terrible and not baked. It was boiled noodles with a bland sauce and nasty cheese. Manager is very rude and won't fix the problem. It went in trash can. Frozen lasagna from grocery store is 10x better and 10x less expensive. read more
