Totally disorganized place , waiters didn't know the difference between de cafe and regular coffee. We had to ask for napkins and dinning silverware. Our potato's were like plastic/ Rubber. The food is amazing. Do not attempt to go at lunchtime! There will be a wait because it's extremely packed every time it's open for lunch.

We were in town for the day & stopped in for a quick lunch. After a brief wait, we were seated. What a busy place! My husband ordered smothered steak & I had the chicken that had bar b sauce/bacon/ mushrooms/cheese on it. We also had creamed corn, mashed potatoes, & green beans. Everything was delicious! Cornbread was really good, too. Lots of locals were having lunch there & we could tell that there's a huge " to go" part of their business. Cute & casual decor! Everything has always been very good. My SIL had the chicken waffles and really liked them. He very picky so if he liked them. No little portions. Service is always top notch and friendly. Some if not all the staff have been there a few years. Nice cozy dining. It's a great place for breakfast. I've yet to try lunch but I bet it's delicious. read more

Took my parents out to breakfast for their 63rd Anniversary and they loved this place and the food. I've been looking for a cute, quaint place like this, locally owned, and I found it. The food is excellent. Grits cooked perfectly, fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, tender biscuits and the blueberry pancakes heaven! This new diner-esque joint hidden in the back roads of Port Neches is a beacon of tasty, filling food. I came here for weekday breakfast and overheard tales of the Saturday morning mania that occurs here and came to find out why. You'll have to get here early because they're only open for breakfast and lunch. Not only is this family place cute, inside and out, but the service was as welcoming as your own family and the food was good to boot! Refinery workers trickled in and out as my family made our breakfast decisions. Two combo plates, a side pancake and a bananas toaster Belgian waffle of course. The coffee took no time at all to hit the table with several refills and check ups from our hospitable waitress. The food arrived through a window in the back where the kitchen is, everything hit and fresh. My biscuit was fluffy, my eggs sunny side (one perfect, one over), grits cooked in the undeniable flavor of homemade chicken stock, and griddled boudain (which I deciphered as my favorite local brand). The pancake took up half a plate the Belgian waffle was glistening under a caramel foster Sauce and a few tiny banana slices. The pancake was delicious and sweet, like melted ice cream, it needed not the warmed syrup. The boudain was crispy, the grits were creamy and perfectly seasoned, the one egg was runny and the other equally as tasty and my biscuit a warm, buttery vessel for sweet, tart jelly. The waffle was great, too, but too sweet for me for breakfast. After some more conversation we made our way out, stuffed and happy. I was a little sketchy about this place since it was small but in all honesty, this place is so GOOD! I came here during a company lunch and I had a taste a bit of everything they had on the menu (besides the burger). I never had fried porkchop until I came to this place and it was amazing! Their gumbo is also rich and you can tell they make it from scratch. We saw someone who ordered a burger and it was huge! The service was fast and the server was very patient/attentive with us. Wow! The reviews for this place really don't do it justice even though they are well reviewed. My daughter and I stopped in for breakfast during a quick trip to SE TX and I'm glad we did. I ordered the chicken and waffles. I also asked for a single slice of French toast and they were happy to abide. My daughter had pancakes and bacon. The pancakes typically come with powdered sugar but she got hers plain. The chicken from the chicken and waffles were huge and really well seasoned. The waffle was light and crispy. I like my chicken and waffles really spicy so I added a bit of hot sauce, but they were also great without it. The French toast was thick and sweet; the way it should be. The pancakes were delicious according to my daughter and she actually finished them all (a rare occurrence). The bacon she ordered was cooked well. They offered coloring books and stickers to help keep her entertained while we waited. The place is really, really small, crowded, and very noisy but it didn't take away from the experience or the flavors of the food. The cherry on top for me was that we went on a Saturday when they don't serve gumbo. But gumbo is one of the best reviewed items and I really wanted to try it (to go so I could ave it for lunch). I explained to the waitress that I live in San Antonio and good gumbo is hard to come by and I was sorry I had missed trying theirs. I bit later she brought me a to go bowl she had pulled from the deep freeze. Talk about going above! Next time we are in town, we will stop by to enjoy either breakfast or lunch. The food is fantastic, location is adorable, and the staff (including the owner) are the friendliest & most accommodating group of folks I've ever met EVER! So they are closed Sunday and Monday but Tuesday-Saturday they have a large variety of home cooked breakfast and lunch!! If you are ever in the area you must drop in. I almost forgot the price is super affordable which is always a bonus.
