I met one of my employees there for breakfast this morning. We ordered our food and we got our food in a resalable time. One of the employees started pouring out water and bleach on the floor right in front of us, this made it really hard to eat because of the strong bleach smell. The same employee that was doing the bleach was also doing some of the cooking with the same plastic gloves that she was cleaning the floor with. My family & I frequent this location because it is close to our house. Went there this morning (9:45am) after ending my night shift because I just wanted an easy breakfast before going to sleep. At the front door the UNFUN surprise that they raised their to-go orders from 15% to 20% added on to the ticket. They claim it's to cover the cost of their to go containers but I call BULLCRAP on that! I worked in food most of my life & managed for 6 years..Those containers are pennies on the dollar. Not happy about that at all! Then I place my order & see the health inspection sign (dated September 27th 2024) they scored an 87 which is VERY, VERY BAD. I look at the listed reasons why-Improper chemical storage & usage, food not being kept to temperature (which can make someone extremely sick!!) cross contamination issues (which can also make someone very sick!!) and improper storage of utensils (cooking utensils) and I'm watching the cook and yup! Still doing ALL OF THAT!! She was handling uncooked food and cooked food without changing gloves (NASTY!!) and like all of this wasn't bad enough the "server" DJ (a young black girl) and yes I put that in quotations because she was absolutely HORRIBLE at her job-NO service at all. Messed up my order while taking it, then barks at me to get up and go to the register to pay. Guess who didn't get tipped?? And I ALWAYS tip! The manager Gigi was training a new server and unfortunately she was so hyper focused on that she was paying ZERO attention to what else what happening..Like my god awful experience today. I will NEVER order to-go again because I'm not paying 20% on top of my meal costs..And it will be a VERY, VERY long time before I return to this location. The old staff that was there forever were great at their jobs & very friendly..This bunch not friendly at all. I'm a Waffle House fan and the one on Richmond road is great. This one is so short staffed and under managed they can mess up the simplest of orders. I've worked for a Waffle House. Biscuits and gravy can be ordered as a side which is one biscuit cut in half A full order is two biscuits. I even clarified this when I ordered over the phone two full ordered so a total of four biscuits and two smothered hash browns and ended up with half of what I ordered for the same price. Plus the cook was not on point at this location at all, huge chunks of onion, not cooked long enough and something was off with the gravy. I came to Waffle House around 11pm and I really wasn't sure what to expect since it was my first time trying Waffle House. And I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I ordered a patty melt with the hash browns. The patty melt was seasoned well and had a great taste. The hash browns were a little dry and had no seasoning but that taste wasn't bad. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by the staff as well. Overall, it was a good experience and I would come again. read more

An old time favorite for me. I love the 24 hour service and one great factor is that they prepare the meals right in front of you. Waffle House serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. I purchased the Texas Melts and it was very good. They also served a generous amount of hash browns. To top it off, we tried their famous pancakes and the portion size and flavor was appropriate! I've had burgers and waffles, but my go-to here is the Cheese & Eggs platter. You get scrambled eggs with cheese, hashbrowns, a breakfast meat, and raisin toast. I asked for a large (double) order of hashbrowns covered (with cheese), and crispy bacon. I received my food as I ordered it, except the large hashbrowns had a small covering of cheese, and the toast was regular white instead of raisin. No biggie - I didn't fuss about it. The food was tasty and I was hungry, so I ate it. Once the food was delivered, the waitress asked if we needed anything else and after we said no she went back to talking with the other waitress. It was slow. However, their posteriors were in our faces the entire meal and they were chatty about some personal things happening via social media. Which, I'd like to add, kept buzzing and beeping on her phone every time she received a message. It must have been something interesting! Anyway, by this time, she needed a cigarette to calm her nerves so she stepped out to smoke while her coworker stayed on her phone trolling social media. Upon her return, she proceeded to read her what she missed and they laughed. What I didn't miss was the fact that the waitress that just came in from smoking didn't wash her hands. 1. That's gross, and 2. That's against health department code. Oh well... I already had my food. On my way out, I looked for the health department score to snap a photo but it was so oddly placed and bear someone eating that I didn't take a photo. I can't imagine anyone ever complaining about Waffle House. Ever. Look, for a gigantic plate of food for less than an hour of minimum wage in a slave state, nothing can beat Waffle House. I get that this is the South and shit is cheap, but let's be real, not WF cheap. When you're traveling on a budget and would rather spend your dollars on good bourbon, this is where you go to eat since once you're boozed up on bourbon it all tastes the same anyway. Yeah, everything is laden in fat. Yeah, everything other than the waffles are fried and that's even questionable. And of course, you will need to stock pile on Fiber One but you should be aware of that when you walk into any chain with a deep fryer on the premises, Waffle House or not. What you see is what you get, and I don't even see why anyone here is pretending to be a food critic and act like the food is worth criticizing: IT'S FUCKING WAFFLE HOUSE, WHAT DO YOU WANT, 5-STAR DINING? The only REAL reason to come to Waffle House is because you want to see terrible people doing terrible things with flatware. Or you want to see real-life hillbillies hard at work instead of bleeding the welfare system dry. These folks have good work ethic. Well, it's Waffle House. I don't need to comment on the quality of the food. Greasy and delicious when you are drunk. If you haven't eaten there, just know that just by walking in the door it means you will either not poop for a week, or you will get the runs. Just sayin'. This spot is a good time at 3am when all the drunk people get the munchies and don't feel like cooking. Lots of good rowdy times. And the staff here is exceptional because they are always cool with (and sometimes happy to play along with) whatever intoxicated shenanigans you might want to get into. Great if you're broke too cause you can get a fuckton of food for $4. Oh and PS they totally have salad here so if you don't feel like destroying your gut you can get a decent sized plate of greens for $2. Great spot for people watching :) read more

Biscuits and gravy has been a favorite dish of mine ever since I had my first bite at a hotel in Arizona. It was amazing to re-live the experience again with a side of hash browns. Surely, this is why it has to be a very thriving restaurant chain in the south. For many that try it for the first time, the overall physical appearance will not get your attention. I had breakfast here yesterday morning and the service was great but I noticed how all the staff just pour or dump things in the floor behind the bar near a drain, seems kind of gross and dangerous. Also, witnessed staff pulling apart cheese slices with bare hands, the entire block of cheese. I don't know if that's against any rules but it just seems gross.
