Because the last one did not go well either. Even accounting for the slower life we are pursuing in our retirement community of choice, we don't have one hour and four minutes to wait on a pizza. Or 54 minutes to wait on a simple spaghetti and meatballs. Or seven minutes standing at the front desk with no one coming by to see you at the "please wait to be seated" podium. I'm older now, I don't have that kind of time to waste. The food was "OK". The spaghetti and meatballs (substituted sausage, maybe this required a trip to Italy") was lukewarm. It tasted OK. My pizza was basically loose and drippy in the center. Not from cheese, from being poorly cooked. Again, there was nothing special about the taste. Lastly, I had to send the first pizza serving tray back to be cleaned. I don't know if it's too little staff, too little caring, too little organization, too little training. It all adds up to a memorable experience for the wrong reasons. It is a very nice place when it comes to decor and such. Even a nice big lighted Christmas display for folks to use as a photo backdrop. Hopefully the ownership will take this review to heart and not blame it on "being too busy" (that sure wasn't the case" or "fussy clientele". It sure wasn't that either.

The white pizza was excellent also, we added some Italian sausage and that put the final touch on the pizza. The Greek salad was fair, but it didn't really roll our socks down, and the spaghetti with meatballs also fell a little short for us - the sauce had great tomato flavour, but it lacked the herbiness (we'd even have been ok with some spicy heat) that you'd expect from a good sauce. They have daily specials that could appeal to some, and they have a rather eclectic menu, right down to fish and chips. We don't go through S. Pittsburgh very often, but we might be back. Nothing too crazy, so did not double check anything until I was ready to eat. I then noticed 2 of my 4 Krystal were missing the cheese. Clearly nothing major to turn around for, but when you pay for something and place a fairly simple order, you shouldn't be hard pressed to expect it to be right. May be more forgiving if they were busy, but I was the only car in the drive thru. Overall, this location served its purpose on my recent road trip. I wish now I would have left it plain. It was awful and the SF syrup was beyond artificial in taste. Legit ruined the coffee. Luckily I still had a need to fill up on gas, so when I popped across the street, I scooped up a bottled coffee drink and mixed it in to the cold brew. Turned out tasty, but that $6 cold brew turned in to $10 real quick. Outside of the coffee being meh, the service was equally meh. When I initially walked up to the counter, the gentleman started taking my order. I asked what SF options they had and he legit walked away from the register mid conversation.
