Caution: if you choose to eat here (not recommended!!!) and sit in the booth against the back wall, beware there are two large screws sticking out that will catch/tear your sweater (or worse) if you slide into the booth without leaning forward.
There were multiple empty tables that had not been cleared and the cooking section behind the booths was in disarray. We waited a very long time before anyone ever came to take our order. So long in fact that I debated getting up to leave . A couple who came in quite a bit after us, was waited on first. When the server finally did come to our booth, my husband had difficulty getting her to understand his order because apparently she didn't know Waffle House has different ways to cook hash browns.
To be fair, she was the only person we saw taking orders, delivering food, and bussing tables for the entire restaurant. So I'm guessing she was not happy and it showed. I don't blame her. I wouldn't be happy about that either. But this was the least-friendly service we've ever had at a Waffle House.
There was another longer wait to get the food and when it came, the order was wrong. No cheese in my cheese eggs and my bacon was quite burnt. My husband's hashbrowns were not what he ordered. His omelet looked awful to me-flat and a weird gray/brown color. He said it wasn't at all fluffy like omelets usually are at waffle houses, but that he did think the flavor was ok.
After dropping off our food, the server disappeared into the back. My husband wanted coffee, but even after she came out, we couldn't ever get her attention to ask. She never did come back to our table check on us until after our meal was already finished.
Throughout our ENTIRE MEAL., there were at least three , sometimes four people standing by the door in the back LOUDLY talking--including loud offensive comments dissing a handicapped woman for "taking five minutes" to get out of her car and into her wheelchair, musing about having a car towed, and complaining about various problems with the building.
My husband was on a lunch break from work, but the wait was so long, he was late getting back. Poor food. Poor service. Poor atmosphere.
We generally have great experiences at other Waffle House locations but will not be returning to this one. read more
