I love me some waffle house, I'd eat there alot more if husband liked it as much as me! I have never had a bad experience at this Gadsden one! Where the others in the area we also we get a lazy waiter or find a hair in our food! Also went in one night late at night to get some food for my husband and I because he was in hospital and the employees prayed for him while I was there! That's not something you'll see just anywhere and makes me love the place even more

The inside of my cup.... wish I had noticed it before I drank it all! This place is nasty

Bad cheese eggs dirty as hell and after I finished my drink I noticed how filthy the inside of my cup was!!!

    Everything looks great!

Awesome eggs, free entertainment - cook has jokes, does a little routine with one of the waitresses. Very friendly people.

We did not know there was a pub crawl for St Patty's day happening on the day of our reservation. We were the first to be seated in the restaurant since it opened at 5:00. Once we sat down we found out there was a limited dinner menu. The waitress took our drink order right away, but it took 20 minutes for the drinks to be delivered. While waiting for the drinks the waitress took our food order, took our food a good 40 minutes to be served after we ordered. The waitress told us our food was delayed because one item was burned in the oven and had to be remade. When we finally got our order one of the entrees was cold and the other was luke warm. We had ordered both entrees medium, but they were also over cooked. I understand they were busy with the pub crawl, but that should not have impacted their service as much as we experienced. What really disappointed me that the restaurant did not make us aware of the limited dinner menu and that they also were hosting a pub crawl when we made reservations. We could have made a decision to cancel the reservation before we traveled to the restaurant I hope the owners of this restaurant will plan better in the future and make their patrons aware of special circumstances affecting the menu. All I know is that I will not be returning.

The British-themed atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and genuinely makes you want to linger longer. We arrived on a Saturday just after 11 AM and the place was already bustling...a great sign of how much the community enjoys this spot. **Food:** - I had the Traditional Burger, no bun, and they easily accommodated my request for a lettuce wrap. The burger was beautifully cooked--crispy on the edges and juicy inside, with the extra pickles I asked for. - The House Potato Salad is hands-down my favorite side here: perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. - My friend got the Fish & Chips and raved about the crispy, perfectly-cooked fish and the addictively good house-made tartar sauce with lots of dill (pickle lovers take note!). - She enjoyed her fries and iced tea, while I loved my hot tea. They serve Twinings teas, which are my favorite. My only wish was for a classic teacup and saucer (rather than a Styrofoam cup) to complete the authentic British feel. **Service and Experience:** - Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, from accommodating special orders to promptly bringing refills on drinks and providing extra sauces with a smile. - We placed our order at the counter and our food arrived at our table piping hot and fresh, never left sitting in a window. - Although the restaurant was busy, we never felt rushed and were encouraged to sit and chat as long as we liked, which felt very authentically British. **Menu Variety:** - Union Jack has something for everyone: a wide range of burgers (like Black & Blue with blue cheese, Mushroom Swiss, Breakfast, and more), as well as sandwiches such as club and chicken, lots of fresh salads, breakfast items, baked muffins and scones, plus daily specials. - They offer both indoor and shaded outdoor seating--a lovely bonus on pleasant days. **Atmosphere:** - The location in Rainbow Plaza offers plenty of parking and the eatery is spotlessly clean inside. The warm, small-town vibe and British decor make this a cozy place to catch up with a friend or enjoy a leisurely meal. **Insider Tips:** - Try the potato salad and the fish & chips--they're local favorites for good reason. - Don't be shy about customizing your order; the staff handles special requests graciously. - If you go on a nice day, consider the shady outdoor tables for a true cafe experience. Union Jack Cafe is a true neighborhood gem with consistently delicious food, generous hospitality, and a community-focused spirit that's worth supporting. Highly recommended for anyone in Rainbow City or passing through. I'll absolutely be returning often, and encouraging everyone I know to do the same!

The location had a ton of specialty drinks and a Spring drinks menu. They also had quite a few pastry and baked goods options. While I did not try this trip, I do also give bonus points for them having matcha. It can be hit or miss at places, but the fact that they had it was definitely a win. After ordering, I took a little explore around the store. I loved the room to the side that had great lighting, books, and even some board games. Their outdoor seating under overhang was also a perfect little relax point. While not a ton of branded merch, they did have a few artsy pieces like journals, cards, watercolor sets, and some unique mugs. Lastly, special thanks to the baristas for being so nice, welcoming, and talking with me a little bit about the business. Definitely try the Banana Pancake Latte when you visit.

They have also continued with the theme inside. They have two seating areas. There are a couple of tables inside the door where you order. There's another area that has a small book library and more tables. When you walk in you are warmly greeted by the staff. They will answer any questions you have. They can also help you pick out a drink. So far their recommendations have been great. We have been to this location twice. Both times our coffee was on point. They have great flavor options. Also in case you're wondering their banana actually tastes like banana. They have dairy free options for your coffee and if you tell them how you want it they will make sure it's right. They don't put enough ice in their iced coffee for my taste but if you ask for more ice they happily oblige. If you're hungry they have you covered there. They have everything from breakfast sandwiches to cake and cookies. We have tried the cheese danish and a sausage breakfast sandwich. Both were really good. The danish was light and flaky. You could tell it was freshly made not from a package. The breakfast sandwich came on a croissant which again was freshly made, not packaged. We will be making this shop a regular stop for us.
