    a plate of breakfast food

It's been awhile since I've been to a WaffleHouse. I've never been to this location but stopped in after I dropped my mom off for an appointment nearby. The staff greeted me right away when I came in and I got my food quickly. It was around 9am on a Thursday morning and it wasn't super busy. There were actually more employees than customers which surprised me. However, after taking my initial order, no one checked on me again or offered a coffee refill. They were loudly discussing how they didn't want to be there which is my pet peeve. Just don't have those conversations in front of the customers. The food was good except for the sausage patties which were underdone. Everything was clean inside.

Tried out this lil Waffle House right off of 65, it was pretty small and seemed to have a cold draft from the big windows by Our booth. The inside was like a retro dinner vibe. The staff was friendly. I got the double waffle option, which was just 2 waffles with chocolate chips on top and came with syrup and butter. Tasted pretty good but nothing special. Ran out of water towards the end but overall a nice little breakfast place to stop in and try. Not a lot of options but do u really want much more than a waffle here?

    Xmas Dinner!

This Waffle House is just like every other waffle house on the planet, except this one was the only place open at this exit when we were driving through on Christmas and will always have a place in our heart. Got a seat quick, our waitress was super friendly, and everything came exactly as ordered. We were starving and ate til we're stuffed for like $30. Even though it was a holiday evening everyone that worked there was smiling and wished us a Merry Christmas. Someone even put on the grinch song on the jukebox. We had a satisfying meal and we're able to get on our way. Everything a Waffle House should be and throw in Xmas on top of it we couldn't ask for more.

Great way to start the day!

What can I say? Fast, delicious, pictures show you exactly what you are going to get but it's delicious too! We were in and out in 30 minutes and back on the road again, recommend for breakfast quick and easy!

Well you really can't go wrong with Waffle House. The food is home cooked, the waitresses are wonderful seasoned hard working women who call you sweetie and tell it like it is. The food is a bit oily (because of the single flat grill that everything gets cooked on) but that's what your getting here...traditional home cooked diner food. As long as you know what to expect you'll be happy. With that said I would not recommend this to any vegans!!

Greasier than an oil spill. Breakfast there is incredibly shitty, but its a good place to hang with friends while plastered.

And he said the menu will expand again soon. Since I was by myself and he had some time, he sat down and we chatted for awhile. The seating at both restaurants, and you can call them that now since they do not just sell drinks anymore, has been greatly expanded both indoors and outside. He also told me they are working on opening a Plainfield location. I ordered my usual The Slugger on a biscuit for my bread choice (4) with sausage for my meat choice (3) and provolone for my cheese choice (5). It was superb and just how I remembered it from the other location when I was eating breakfast there several days a week about a year ago. I also ordered one Biscuit & Gravy which was excellent as well. I love small local business establishments and cooking. They always have great service and a friendly atmosphere. I parked in the public parking lot across the street since it was a Saturday and street parking was full. The restroom was clean, well stocked and had a pleasant fragrance.

The cafe is now owned by Diane, Ann's daughter. The tables are packed tightly together, but we were happy to get the last seats in the house. Nostalgic photos of Franklin cover the walls. The place is loud but with a great positive energy. People are small-town friendly and talk between tables as they enjoy their biscuits and gravy. We cajoled with two regulars who told funny stories. Our server, Gill, was quick to the table and friendly. He checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. The menu is a mix of traditional breakfast options, sandwiches, salads and wraps. Prices are reasonable. Food came out quickly. My husband ordered their hand breaded tenderloin with fries. The tenderloin was massive with a great browned breading, served on a Kaiser roll. The pork was tender and juicy. It was a perfect tenderloin, worthy of the Indiana Tenderloin Trail. The hand-cut fries are lightly breaded, crispy and hot. There was an up-charge for the fries, but they were so good and worth it. It was rainy outside, so I had a bowl of the daily soup - broccoli cheddar. The soup was hot, thick, creamy with lots of broccoli and cheese and stuck to my ribs. My soup was served with packs of saltines. Free street parking is available if you're lucky to grab a spot. Well worth the drive to Franklin. Ps. They are closed Saturday and Sunday!

I was worried when we couldn't make any reservations, but we got right in - nobody was waiting, they weren't busy, but they did seem to be scrambling to find a server for us, which I thought was a little odd. After a weird start, the rest of the visit was fantastic - service was great, food was excellent, and we had a lovely time on a date night. Restrooms are on the first floor (an older review says the women's is downstairs in a creepy hallway, but this must have been renovated) and are single-occupancy and unisex, which is an interesting experience depending on who has visited before you -- this was probably the low point of the experience, that restroom could use some upkeep. Not just an unpleasant previous visitor, but structurally. For such a nice place, that part was sketchy. Definitely will be coming back overall.

I hadn't heard of Dale's until she told me about it. Par for the course, I made sure to check them out on Yelp first. It's a pretty good sized place with additional outdoor seating. It's very spacious and spread out without the tables being crammed together, including the booth space. It had a fresh looking and clean appearance too. The decor is pleasant. The place seemed to have an ample sized crowd when we arrived. We were seated right away and we had a kind and informative server. Dale's only serves breakfast and lunch and then they shut down early. They do not do dinner apparently. It seems they serve breakfast all day along with some lunch options. We decided to eat lunch because we got there a little bit after noon. The special of the day was sloppy Joe's. I decided to have a pork tenderloin sandwich with fries and coleslaw and my guest decided to get the sloppy Joe's special with fries. On a 10 scale, the coleslaw was a seven, the tenderloin sandwich was a nine, and the fries were an eight. The sloppy joe was a six. I think the reason why the sloppy Joe didn't rank higher is because it was just dry loose seasoned hamburger meat. It didn't have any sauce in it whatsoever to hold it together. It was more like a loose meat sandwich or a taco burger. Those sandwiches are generally drier and crumbly in texture. I also like the option of having some cheddar cheese with a sloppy joe, or any similar hamburger type of sandwich. I would definitely consider coming again and trying something different. I noticed they had some comfort food classics on their menu like ex: chicken and dumplings and meatloaf. I hear they're usually pretty busy and packed when it comes to their breakfast crowd. This restaurant is doing things the right way from what I can tell at this point. The bathroom was average in cleanliness, presentation/appearance. I stand by giving them a strong 4 star rating for them which stays on course with their already established 4 star rating.

The dining area has both booths and tables, and they had a fun Dalmatian fire hydrant decoration near the host/hostess stand that added character to the space. They serve Pepsi products for drinks. My son got lemonade and I just got water. I ordered the Sami, which came with country fried steak, two eggs over medium, hash browns, and two pancakes for $14.99. Peggy said that was a good choice, and my meal was tasty. The portion was filling and the pricing seemed reasonable.
