I found this place by complete accident ~ and discovered it is one of the greatest places on Earth. Sunday night is Steak night and the mint bears Saint Elmo's hands down and that comes from someone who worked there for a year ( TRUST ME ) ... genius cocktail list and home of the best server in the universe ( Logan ) Only about 30 minutes from Indianapolis and a great destination spot ~ 5 BILLION Stars

Good stop for a well crafted mix drink and cool atmosphere. Only been once but will plan on going back for the music night.

The food wasn't bad, I enjoyed the selection. Good bang for your buck--they don't skimp on cheese or pulled pork. My husband and I had the loaded tater tots, a pulled pork hot dog, and sweet potato fries. The bartender was a bit rude at the end of our meal which dampened our overall experience, but other than that it was fine.

They had the door open, which was letting in the fresh almost-spring air.) Drinks are pretty much all they have at Snug, to be honest. Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

Since, it had recently changed its menu, we thought it a good time to try out the new menu. We each started with an Aperol spritz, together with freshly baked focaccia with a lovely EVOO. We then shared as a primi the strawberry and burrata salad with arugula, pistachios and a balsamic vinagrette. Unlike some other places, the burrata really was burrata and delicious. It was perfectly accompanied by the strawberries and the balsamic. For our mains, one of our group ordered the seared branzino. Its skin was crispy and the fish inside perfectly cooked, not dried out as sometimes happens in other restaurants. Fortunately, I was given a taste and it was outstanding. For the other mains, we ordered the duck breast. We were given a choice of temperatures for the duck. The chef suggested medium. We wisely took the chef's suggestion and the duck breasts came out perfectly cooked and delectable. It was accompanied by roasted Brussels sprouts, blackberries, a corn veloute and a red wine demi. I would order this dish again in a New York minute. Throughout, we were ably aided by our server, Chelsea. She was terrific and if things got a little backed up, the floor manager stepped in and kept it moving. Finally, we had a decaf affogato for dessert. The gelato was tasty and even the decaf espresso was delightful. In short, we were presented with excellent food expertly served. Will we come back? You bet.

The place is loud but with a great positive energy. People are small-town friendly and talk between tables as they enjoy their biscuits and gravy. We cajoled with two regulars who told funny stories. Our server, Gill, was quick to the table and friendly. He checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. The menu is a mix of traditional breakfast options, sandwiches, salads and wraps. Prices are reasonable. Food came out quickly. My husband ordered their hand breaded tenderloin with fries. The tenderloin was massive with a great browned breading, served on a Kaiser roll. The pork was tender and juicy. It was a perfect tenderloin, worthy of the Indiana Tenderloin Trail. The hand-cut fries are lightly breaded, crispy and hot. There was an up-charge for the fries, but they were so good and worth it. It was rainy outside, so I had a bowl of the daily soup - broccoli cheddar. The soup was hot, thick, creamy with lots of broccoli and cheese and stuck to my ribs. My soup was served with packs of saltines. Free street parking is available if you're lucky to grab a spot. Well worth the drive to Franklin. Ps. They are closed Saturday and Sunday!
