Ordered cheese eggs- got eggs no cheese. Took forever. Had to wait for coffee refills.

Workers were taking a break outside when we arrived at the empty diner, but the minute we walked in, they were hopping! Quick service. Hard workers. Our very first Waffle House visit ever. Great bacon and sausage. Nice crispy waffles. Small chili was not warm enough for me, so I took it to go and heated it at the hotel. It was ah-right. Perfectly fresh coffee. One of a kind Waffle House experience - we had to clean the table ourselves because they were too 'busy'. The waffle tasted pretty good and the hash brown bowl was ok. Good thing about Waffle House is that you get to drink unlimited coffee and that gets you through a hangover day. We are here after arriving about 8 PM at night at a local hotel. It was a holiday and there wasn't much open. I wasn't very impressed there. There was about seven or eight people working and about that many customers when I walked in and every table in the restaurant they didn't have people sitting was dirty every table and I've never seen that before anywhere in my life so like I said, there wasn't anywhere else to eat unless you wanted McDonald's or Whataburger, so we elected Thursday and a young man came and took her order. He wasn't just overly pleasant but he was OK and we ordered. I ordered a chicken sandwich and my wife ordered a burger. On my hashbrowns I put onions, cheese, mushrooms, and my wife just had plain hashbrowns. I have to see the food the burger or chicken sandwich for top quality. I was really amazed. I've eaten at a lot of waffle houses, and the quality of the food here was superb but beyond that, they never really bothered to wipe off the tables when I walked in, they clean mine up and as a customer with Tom and they would wipe off the table which I found kind of disturbing a lot of people standing around talking about two or three people working, including the cook. We did a 7 day road trip from Dallas TX to Orlando FL, going through New Orleans and Mobile AL. During this entire road trip, this waffle house was the only good thing I had for breakfast. Their food was better than anything I ate in New Orleans and better than anything I had in the expensive resort hotel in Orlando. Service was very fast and efficient. What can I say. I've eaten at Waffle House 100's of times in over 15 states, during 30+ years of traveling. In all those years and meals I've had a small number of disappointments. Never will I go to the waffle house in Florence my husband and friend got their drink as soon as we ordered, she told me ill be right back with your drink.. After 3 minutes waiting on a COKE I started timing it.. 6 almost 7 minutes waiting on a COKE. She forgot and came back to get our order for our food and my friend said she didn't get her coke and she said oh and laughed it off and finally got it... After we got the order taken i time it again and it takes 15 minutes for 3 waffles hash browns and bacon. Mind you there's 5 workers and maybe 3 booths full. Waffle House usually has great coffee; I'm so very disappointed with the service and the cleanliness of this particular Waffle House. I received terrible coffee in a mug that was filthy! The server couldn't possibly have missed that! I've been twice, and twice I've received dirty dishes: food that I didn't order ( I'm still waiting on my toast): burnt coffee!: I'm done with this location. The staff are nice enough outwardly, but when you don't listen to the customers when they order, bring them dirty dishes and utensils, and the wrong food, it is clear you don't care about them. read more
