I have always liked Waffle House and this one was great. We showed up at 4 am and were greeted and seated instantly. We were the only people there and they took great care of us. It has always been a very good inexpensive breakfast. I love the hash browns and all the ways you can get them cooked. I am and will probably always be a fan. read more

It's Waffle House. Can it even be bad. You already know what to expect. However, this one EVERYONE was nice and Mrs Cindy so so nice to everybody and helpful to the staff as well as customers. Great way to end the trip heard back to Texas!! Food came out quick and was all good. Not terribly busy at all. But it also right before 8am. read more

Waffle House - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Destin, Florida

It's a waffle house. It was open on Christmas day and we needed a hot meal. It's centrally located and clean. The staff is really nice. They screwed up the hash browns but again we did not have high expectations for the meal so some ketchup and extra chewing and we got out of there. read more

We had to try this iconic restaurant. The food wasn't fancy, but it tasted good. Waitress was nice and let me order a pancake breakfast off the kids menu which was perfect for me! The rest of my family ate regular size breakfast and lunch meals. The tomatoes on the burgers were much bigger than the meat-that was weird. They would have preferred a better meat/tomato ratio. O.J. was good. Restaurant was clean and not busy. We went for a late breakfast/brunch. read more

You know what Yelpers? This place exceeded my expectations. I thought it would be something like Perkins and meh. Nay! Their menu is simple, but good. Nothing fancy and that's just fine by me. Sometimes you just want a nice waffle without trying to disguise it with bananas and chocolate. Their waffle is like the original style waffle that should be. Sure, they can add on chocolate chips and a couple other options if you like, but it's not necessary. Their basic has the right flavor. The hashbrowns were cooked picture perfectly and tasted just as good. I am giving it 4 stars as the place was a mess, but everyone was busy doing their jobs. I can see why this place is everywhere in the South. read more

This my honest review of this location unprofessional and should not be in operation there is no cohesive team work in the kitchen seen multiple get and walk out because staff wants to argue with customers and there own employees this location is a joke if you want some late night entertainment this is the place to be but other then that your getting served food that's not fully cooked Bcz there priorities are the money that they get in there pocket not caring for the customer at all read more

This is the best Waffle House in Destin! Hands down. If you want breakfast this is where you need to go! The staff were so friendly, which is not the norm for Waffle House restaurants. The food was by far the best! We didn't have one thing that was bad. Our kids even loved the food! That's saying something. If you have kids then you know how picky they can be. I definitely recommend you giving them your business. You stay classy Waffle House! read more

See all

First time going to a Waffle House and we were so excited! As we arrived, all of the windows were covered in grease, should have been our first clue. Next we sit down and notice there are numerous ants on the table. The waitress says casually "we've had an ant problem for months now, just can't get them to go away..." as she squishes one on our table. As we're trying to figure out how we're going to leave, she brings our drinks to the table and there's an ant in my drink!!! read more

Yuck. Went in because they were the only place open on a late night and I was starving. The lady behind the counter said sit whether but the tables were not clean the back side was blocked off. She repeated herself and I informed her there was syrup on table and food crumbs on seats. She reaches in a bucket grabs a wet towel and has an attitude while wiping the table off. There were 2 men at bar area and she reaches in the ice machine grabs ice with hands and proceeds to fix them water. Disgusting! As I'm watching this the guy that was outside smoking comes in and starts putting oil on griddle... he never washed his hands. I walked out!!! read more

Hey there! We are on our way back home and we must say this is the best experience we have ever had in a Waffle House! My wife and I both work in the food industry and understand what hat it takes to pull off what y'all did today effortlessly. Great training, great team work, and there was a guy that was mediating between the people coming in and the people sitting down, it helped make everything flow well, his name is Nick we just discovered, lol. Also there was Maddie! She needs a raise for putting up with us and for trying to learn Spanglish from us!!! And once again we just wanted to say great job and I wish more restaurants operated like this one!!! read more

Waffle House is one of the things I miss about living in the South, and I came here for my condemned man's last breakfast at the end of the golf trip on the way to the airport and back to the world of work and school and taxes. Place was packed - wait list was 10 or 12 deep for a table or a place at the bar at one point - and all the staff were working their butt off, and I got a great breakfast. Special shout out to my server Olga, who was only on her second day and was a rookie learning the ropes, but she - like all the hard working people of Waffle House - was absolutely awesome. read more

I'm giving it three stars because as a customer I obviously love the food and they do a tremendous job. We were avid fans of Waffle House until this incident. As an overall business I am terribly dissatisfied because we have an international food brand across the way in Destin commons. I think it is extremely poor business practice in our community to poach employees right inside their place of employment. It comes across as intimidating, you can also say it's trespassing, and you can also say that it is just plain tacky. If anyone from their corporate office or local location condones this, then it's worth having a conversation about staying out of our stores. We have placed advertisements in many different online the venues which obviously takes resource/money to post. We have gone through extensive interviews and screening with background checks and feel that we did our homework to staff properly. Hiring in advance of this time of year takes a great deal of preparation. Success is not an accident. My advice to waffle house is to plan properly, don't use the convenience strategy of poaching your business community neighbors. Also as a sidenote we have protected ourselves against this tactic by offering a wage that is significantly higher than yours. We also provide tips to our cooks (as you highlighted to our staff in your visit) and share in the success and satisfaction of our guests. There is also a significant opportunity for advancement in our multiple Gulf coast locations. It is worth noting that the bulk of our staff are referrals from existing staff. That is the ultimate employee retention tool because our culture has convinced team members to bring on their friends and families to be part of our team. Another point worth mentioning is that our brand has a bit more affluence to it than a waffle house shirt or hat. I would much rather wear almost any another franchise gear than be associated with the stigma attached to waffle house. This type of recruiting tactic of course shows much of why I categorize you this way. So in summary, having great food is only part of the equation. Running a respectful business is a completely different situation that escapes many managers and business owners. We are locally owned and operated and we feel that you can revisit your poaching tactic. We would not set foot in your store unless we were going to eat and spend money in your establishment which after this experience will not happen. read more

This was the first Waffle House I've ever been to. As a Californian, we don't have an equivalent. I was confused why this section of Florida does not have Starbucks, and I guess it's because people go to Waffle House instead. But to me, it's like going to a Walmart when you really wanted to go to Nordstroms. Food was unhealthy but cheap. Service was friendly though rough around the edges. read more

Sweetest staff in the world! Really enjoyed eating breakfast here this morning. Everything was cooked well-no complaints about food. The staff was quick, friendly, and very attentive. There is a reason why there are so many waffle houses in destin..... Waffle house is awesome! I would get the waffle with chocolate chips, loved it! The servers were friendly and quick. this is by far the worst waffle house ever. i ordered a cherry sprite and it came out with ants in it!!!!

Me and a friend came in and we're ignored for a good 5 or so minutes before someone finally told us they'd be with us. I ordered my food and told them specifically I wanted hash browns lightly cooked. When they placed them in front of me they were very dark and burnt. I politely asked for them to be remade and they brought them back slightly lighter than before but not even close to what I wanted. A cook came over and even admitted they were "medium" but didn't offer to remake. My friend nicely went and explained what happened asking to not be charged for the hash browns, our waitress replied with "okay whatever" as she threw a hand in the air. When checking out we got horrible attitude. They even threw the change in my hand and it fell on the counter, she gave us a fake apology. I'm a very understanding young adult who is also a waitress and this was the absolute worst service I have ever received. I somehow maintained composure and continued to be polite but someone needs to correct these workers!! My cook was blonde Kath or Kathy? Our waitress was Jessica. Keep in mind I consistently go to Waffle House, both the Niceville, Defuniak and Miramar location. I can't promise i've always had 5 star service. But if I could, I would give my experience today negative stars. read more

Waffle House - "My second batch of Light Brown Hashbrowns" - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Destin, Florida

Always a classic to go to, for breakfast, lunch, or late night dinners. Service at this one, however, was extremely great. Even for a 10 at night check in, we got a cheerful waitress who was manning the fort during the late night hours, which I know can suck. But besides the great service, the food was, of course, delicious. It isn't fancy dining, but the food is better than most breakfast places I've been to. If you've never been, definitely go and eat there whenever you get the chance. read more

Great service from Amy! We took our kids here for the first time. A little on the dirty side, but we were the only ones in the restaurant.

Absolutely would recommend! We had 10 with us on a Saturday morning and didn't wait too long to be seated. I had the peach spice waffle, which was awesomely yummy! Everyone loved everything they got. The staff are so warm and funny and made the visit even better. I would highly recommend any day! read more

Waffle House - Waffle House sign - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Destin, Florida

This review is based, specifically, on their lack of ability to even sit people for meals. There were approximately five open tables at lunch on a Thursday. We waited over 20 minutes without ever even being seated. I'm not sure if they are horribly understaffed or poorly managed but I would not suggest wasting your time trying to eat at this location. read more

Good food cooked to order! I always can count on a good breakfast and coffee at the Waffle House.

The absolute worst Waffle House I've ever been to. Waffle batter all on the floor, flies EVERYWHERE, dirty cups, they cleaned the so called clean dishes with a dirty rag.. It was just disgusting! We got up and left.. We were there for maybe 10 mins and everybody was just disgusted. Please do not eat there. Definitely do not recommend going to this particular Waffle House. read more
