Well... it's Waffle House, right? It's Americas favorite greasy spoon, BUT.... It isn't Dicks last resort!!! I must have came when the B team was at bat... here we go... I walk in around 9pm the place is empty, I wondered if they had been robbed and left tied up in the back A undernourished chick with earrings in her brain and blue hair comes out and mumbles something through her feelings... I ask her what her favorite meal is and she says she doesn't really eat there :) So I start to place my order with bluey and I notice she keeps rubbing her lip, she did it like 3 times in 90 seconds... naturally I'm wondering what's going on with the fidgeting... it's a burner starting to bloom on her upper lip... I almost left... when suddenly a less colorful chick comes out from the back and starts scraping the grill... I think if bluey touches my food I'm outta here... no judgement just personal well being policy! Neither one of these people seemed interested in being welcoming in the slightest... so I ate my greased spoon and shoved off.... Two weeks later I thought lemme try again... this time it was a different crew... same drill... the chick running the counter was more interested in cleaning, spoons than taking my order... my favorite part is when I paid the check, she actually looked at me in my eyes and said, is that it? Awkward turtle I tell you... maybe it's just this generation between 20 and 30 that feel customer service is overrated... I would submit that tips are not required in any tip is a reflection of customer service beyond what is required.... If I had to make a judgement I would say either this town is full of man haters or nobody gives a care about what an outsider like me thinks.... BTW... I dont typically do this, but am extremely disappointed at the lack of concern, or even acknowledgment by the manager of the Waffle house in Charles Town wv. my daughter saw several gray slivers moving around in her glass of water. I managed to get one on the end of the straw for a closer look. it was definitely alive and moving, and sprung off the straw once freed from the droplet of water it was enveloped in. The waitress was genuinely appalled, and took the glass to the manager. she returned to say the manager didn't see anything, but she doesn't have the best vision, and that she would come over to talk with us. that never happened. I witnessed another lady ask for her drink to be replaced because something was floating in it. I wish I had the courage to make a scene, or at least ask in a voice loud enough for others to hear, What are you going to do about the bugs in your water? but I'm not. My attitude went from, semi humorous of the situation, to thats it, never again eating here. I immediately called the Jefferson County health department emergency line and left a message, and emailed Waffle house with details. I am now wanting anyone in this area to ge aware. Im sure in my lifetime I've managed to ingest things without knowledge, but there us a reason we have the codes regarding food and public health, safety. I always seek out Waffle House when on vacation. This one did not disappoint. Had waffle with peanut butter chips, bacon and coffee. All were good. The 4 ladies working were so friendly and attentive...you could tell they really seem to like working together which is nice to see. A pretty standard Waffle House, food for the most part is good here. The service was quick and the staff is attentive. You are acknowledged immediately when entering and quickly offered a seat. We had one issue with the food order and that was with how the t-bone was cooked. We requested medium and it was undercooked. Not that huge a deal, as it could have quickly need cooked some more, but it was then overcooked and tasted dry. The other issue was some of the staff were talking so loud back and forth that it became very annoying and distracting. Seemed it was a little of everything and anything. How overweight someone's cat is and how it always wants to eat, stories about grandkids misbehaving, such and such boyfriend has a new job, debating about hiding an AirTag in a boyfriends car so they can track where he's going when they are not around, etc. It wasn't the entire staff, just a couple of them and they were just so loud it was difficult to hear each at our table. I get that you want to chat with your coworkers to help pass the time, but when it gets to the point that it's so loud from one end of the counter to the other that customers know your business and can't just sit and enjoy their meal, then it's too much. Two tips I would give if eating here would be, skip the t-bone (unless you like it rare or overcooked) and get a seat off to the side, away from the counter. read more

#1- We sit down and a woman with no shoes, a black cocktail dress, and freshly beat face was cooking. Can't even hate on her, because it seems as though she was the only one in her right mind. #2- The trap music was so loud. #3- The waffles (the only redeeming factor of this experience) were 3/4 the size of what they are SUPPOSED to be. #4- After requesting some waters, our waitress picked up a plate of eggs she had already put down on the table which she then promptly dropped, causing the ceramic egg plate to absolutely shatter and scatter shards of ceramic onto every other plate that was put on the table. We weren't given new food, an apology, or any sort of refund. Granted, we didn't ask for one but that was more so because my friends and I were in an absolute state of shock and disbelief. I wouldn't say I'm mad or even disappointed. I feel like I have whiplash. read more

My guy has just lost his Waffle House virginity! LOL LOL This Waffle House is clean and the servers are very friendly. Prices are tolerable and make up for the limited menu. This is reliable road trip grub and I enjoy it every once in awhile. The neighboring table included two very young children who appeared to be regulars. Their interaction with the server would warm the cockles of the coldest heart. I'm just realizing the value of the charming and comfortable simplicity offered by the hospitality at this Waffle House. Last week we finally stopped by this Waffle House to try it out. Was a little annoyed when I walked in because of the small space and so many people (people annoy me). Sat down to wait for a table and was only about five minutes before someone left and we grabbed the spot. We were instantly welcomed and had our drinks in like a minute. Our waitress, Karen, took our order and within 10 minutes we had our food. And that food looked amazing! Our one daughter and I got an Angus burger with hash browns. It was so delicious! Our daughter kept saying how good it was as well. My wife got a breakfast combo with eggs, bacon, and a waffle and she said she'd never had a restaurant meal taste so good. Our youngest daughter, who's rather picky, got a waffle and said that was her favorite waffle ever! The waitress kept our drinks filled the entire time and was there to assist with whatever we wanted. While I ate, I noticed how well the entire crew worked together; so committed to their work while laughing and having fun too. Got the bill, which was very decent for the four of us, and payed. Before we left, we stood and chatted with our server, who was so kind and sweet, for like ten minutes. This is really about the server and not the food etc. food and prices are great. This nasty female server (late Fifties, portly, LOUD) was so loud and inappropriate in front of everyone's kids. Said she beat kids etc. just tacky. I don't think she meant it but what would a little kid think? She was showing off for a guy who came in. I can't believe that I've never been to a Waffle House before and I found the breakfast here especially the waffle was fantastic! Before going here Hubby said the ambiance of the Waffle House is decent, however, he thought this location maintains a clean look and simple. It's like entering a Diner/Cafe in a classic movie or entering a twilight zone tv series. I I should have worn my classic summer dress with a scarf and big sunglasses and drive a Cadillac to get here. This is awesome experience, at least for me. I had grits! Can you believe I don't even know what that is but I had it. It's like baby food and I added honey on top of my grits to make it tastier! We had Brittany (not the singer) served us and she's super talented because she took our order and then she cooked for us. Wow! She can do it all! She made us a great breakfast. I still can't believe that I've never tasted the waffle like this one before. I think they use a different type of flour, maybe mixing it with some other ingredient or flavor? Not sure but was sooooo good! I also had toasted cinnamon bread with Sunnyside eggs. Hubby had eggs with hash brown potato and that was very good too. The coffee was so so. This was a good Waffle House but not the best. I thought it odd that basically no one else was there. Place was pretty empty. We did have a weird wait for ordering. Again because Waffle House is normally quick and we were about the only people at a table I just found it odd. Anyway, we got our order and those were some great grits! Loved the eggs. My daughter said they were the best hashbrowns ever! And she's 18 not 6. LOL. We both thought the Waffles were bottom of the barrel though. Tasted almost uncooked and my daughter's Waffle came apart like there was a top and bottom. A little strange for waffles out of a Wafflehouse. There was also some black gunk on my waffle. It was either hardened left over chocolate chips from a previous order or grease that hardened and charred. IDK but They do need to clean their equipment apparently. I accidentally checked in at IHOP due to my hiking fatigue. I would never eat at an IHOP unless I absolutely had too. I have always heard of Waffle House but never had a chance to dine there. One my way to Charles town Casino, i was surprised to see a Waffle house on the way. My first thought was to have a quick stop and grab some food. I ordered the grilled chicken burger and a chocolate chip waffle. I have to say the chocolate chip waffle was amazing. Even thought it looked big, I could have easily ate another one. The grilled chicken burger was also very good. The setting of the restaurant looked almost like a diner. The people who worked there were very friendly, and made sure that my needs were taken care off. This location is very close to the Charles town casino as well. Until Sports gambling gets legalized in MD/VA/DC, I will be coming to WV more often and will dine here when I'm graving waffles. read more

I am a fan of waffle house restaurants. I like the food and service is very good BUT this waffle house, although new, is very filthy. This morning I sat at the counter next to the cashier. The sink and surrounding area was filthy. There was dirt caked on the sink and area that looks like it has been there for weeks without cleaning. The stainless steel walls were filthy, obviously not cleaned in a while. I had to exchange my flatware that had old food stuck to the knife and fork. The waitress was pleasant but really didn't care. I could go on and on but everywhere I looked, all I saw was dirt and scum that has not been cleaned for awhile. The manager of this place should be ashamed and should be fired. It's a shame, I like waffle house but I probably will not be back unless I am in the mood to check it out one last time. read more

I've eaten here many times. From the day it opened to just this past weekend. Having all new servers at the beginning, things were a little rough but it's gotten better with each time I've gone back. I've had many different servers but my favorites are Chloe, Olivia, and Alexis. I try to sit in their sections as much as possible since they're so personable. You know what you're getting at a Waffle House. A no-frills breakfast or dinner. You can't compare other restaurants since its pretty unique. Keep up the good work. I'll be back!! read more

This Waffle House started off so great when it first opened but tonight's experience was a complete disaster and I will not be back. The store was filthy. Dirty floors, dirty tables. Staff was sitting at the bar eating their food and on their cell phones. Then my wife found an item in her food. There were no apologies whatsoever. Instead the waitress paraded the item around the grill section asking, "what is this...what is this". When we asked for a manager, there was no manger on duty.
