This particular Waffle House is convenient to AUM and is an overall plus to the community. Waffle House has become an iconic presence on the culinary landscape here in the southeastern United States. It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. There is something to be said about eating in an old school greasy spoon atmosphere and the service here was relatively friendly and professional. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. Went in at 1:00 am to get some coffee and take a break from a long drive across the states. No other customers were present, but over 5-7 tables were left messy with dirty dishes and plates. We sat at a clean booth and were served immediately. The coffee was watery, not even sugar and creamer could save it. We got our food quickly. I think there's a reason some call it the awful waffle! It had been a while since I'd passed through the doors of a waffle house. Alas, I found myself on the road after 11pm and in major need of a meal. This location was right off of the interstate and very easy to find. My waitress could not have been any nicer or more attentive. I quickly decided on the Texas Bacon Angus Patty Melt. It's the normal patty melt, but with the addition of bacon and onions. Soooo good. It comes with an order of hashbrowns as well. You can get them any way that you like. Ms. Joyce greeted us at the door and got a table ready for us. She was very friendly with all of the customers. Once we were seated, our waiter came over with a big smile and greeted us. Now here is my mistake -- I didn't get his name. I usually notice name tags, but we were so busy talking to him that I forgot to look and it wasn't on our receipt. I really would have liked to give him shout out by name here for an excellent job. He was a tall, thin, young guy with a big smile. This evening at 8pm, a friend and I went to this Waffle House expecting to get a quick bite to eat after work. Before walking inside, we saw about two patrons and two workers and the sign on the window that said they start doing take out only at 9pm. We walk in and the younger male employee with dark hair stared at us without saying a word. I said hi and waved and still didn't receive a response. My friend asked if we should seat ourselves and the older male employee with a grey beard who was equally as rude if not more, said "you have 20 minutes and I'm clocking out." We sat and they began cleaning instead of serving us. We decided to leave so we weren't an inconvenience to them but also due to the hostility we felt as soon as we walked inside. We are very disappointed with this experience and we even drove here from the Waffle House on Taylor Road where we received the same attitude that they didn't want to serve us despite there being other guests inside. I do not feel like this was an isolated incident and do not feel comfortable returning to these two waffle houses if this is how the employees will treat me. read more

One of the much better Waffle House experiences I have had. I relied on reviews to determine where to go for breakfast after staying in Montgomery as a means to evacuate hurricane Michael. The staff were very friendly and seem to have a team dynamic, the cooks were very nice as well. I sat at the bar so I could see into the kitchen and I don't think I've been to a diner yet where I have witnessed the staff actually wash their hands like the safe serv videos, under the nails and up to the elbows, when I did I felt very good about where I was eating - because they wore gloves the entire time and would wash their hands in between changes. I've been coming to this Waffle House for over 10 years and I've never had a problem. My family tries to hate on it, but when I was in college and needed a filling breakfast on the quick, Waffle House was there. Even got my meal paid for a few times when old men thought I was a teenage runaway, but jokes of them I was just a sloppy university student. After I got married my husband and I came to this Waffle House after our honeymoon, staff was very friendly and made us feel like a super cute couple. When I was in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy and had super cravings for waffles, the waitress was always so nice and would have my regular order starting when she saw me in the parking lot. I love the Waffle House for the simple fact that it's breakfast for breakfast, lunch, dinner, after the club, when your hanging out and just want something... it works for every occasion! I usually get the all star meal or the philly cheese steak sandwich but when I'm on budget I order off their $5 menu which is good and filling for something quick.
