The staff were extremely accommodating and made sure that my students were comfortable and had everything that they needed. They rearranged the tables so we could all sit together. My family and I really enjoy this place. We've been here 3 times now in the last 6 months and service and food have stayed consistent. Service is very attentive, even when the wait appears to be long; we are seated in a timely manner, never have to wait for refills and food comes out fast. The SERVICE is worth 6 stars! Even when the place is packed on a weekend mid-morning, you get great service! Sometimes, you get better service when it's busy because it seems as though the management schedules the appropriate number or more servers than needed when they expect a crowd. I love that the servers all seem to enjoy their job & are all helpful even if they're not "your server" at the moment. My favorite waffle is the cherry-almond, but I ask for added chocolate drizzle over it. Sadly, I can't eat a breakfast of bacon, eggs & hash browns AND my waffle so I have to choose one or the other. If I go with the traditional breakfast, I ALWAYS go for the biscuits & gravy, extra crispy hash browns & over easy eggs. I love this place! My first time here, and I'll be returning. We were greeted the second we walked in, by the hostess, manager, and other servers that passed by. My gf and I sat in a booth. The booth was clean! Usually there's crumbs and soap scum left on the table, but not at our booth! Our server was great! She asked if it was our first time here. I was. She made the experience easy and comfortable. That's one thing I do appreciate about great service, welcoming first timers. Water and Coffee came out quick. The helpers definitely deserve some recognition, my coffee was always topped off. Our server stop by after she dropped off our food. Great service! The waffle batter is amazing. Wanted to try this place ever since my last bicycle ride through Manteca back in the Summer. Today was the day to try it out. 3 1/2 Stars. Waffle Combo (**** $6.95) Their Plain Waffle served with two Eggs, and your choice of four Bacon Strips, four Sausage Links, or Ham. A Golden Brown, six inch square Waffle, slightly crisp accompanied by two small glasses of warmed Syrup with a dab of Butter on top. I liked it that Waffle House divided the Waffle from the Eggs and Sausage Links... unlike Denny's and some other restaurants that assume Syrupy-Sweet Eggs are a delicacy. Pretty hefty, chubby Sausage Links. Note to Waffle House: Recounted to the wait-staff my experience at Table 260 in Elk Grove ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/table-260-elk-grove ), where their Waffles are enhanced by Warm Syrup AND melted Butter. Just a suggestion! full order Biscuits & Gravy (** 1/2 $4.45) Two Biscuits smothered in a Pork Sausage based White Gravy. I knew beforehand that the single Waffle was not enough. The waitress described the White Gravy as containing bits of Pork Sausage... it might have at one time or another, but not today. Not enough Gravy for the two Biscuits. A very airy, bright atmosphere... almost seamless windows on South, East walls. Wait-Staff are kinda uniformed in Crimson knee-length bibs... Cute. Initially, I thought the Waffle House in Manteca was a part of a chain of Waffle House restaurants in the Phoenix, Las Vegas area ( http://www.wafflehouse.com/ ), recognized by their Scrabble-type of lettering in their signage... But, I guess, the Waffle House chain in California is totally distinct from the one's East of California. I usually NEVER mention the unmentionable "restroom"... but today I have to. If you have to use it at Waffle House... get there early because when I went in, I turned right around immediately! It had not been attended to, it seemed like, for the whole day! This place was delicious!!! We went to get breakfast during a long break in my daughter's soccer tournament down the street. There were a TON of people waiting, but the wait time was pretty quick! We were seated and promptly had our drink orders in. I ordered the chocolate chip waffle combo and my daughter ordered the strawberry waffle. They were served so quickly and arrived hot and loaded with whipped cream, strawberries and chocolate! It was delicious!! The bacon was thick cut and perfectly cooked as well as my eggs. If I didn't have the butter and syrup, it was pretty much just a dry tasteless waffle with small chunks of pecans and bacon. Once in a while, you find a family restaurant that combines exceptional service, consistently delicious food, a clean environment, friendly and respectable staff. This restaurant has been a part of this community for a number of years, and they possessed all of the factors that would turn you into a regular customer. It WAS the place to go to get affordable quality food quickly and excellent service. I was there a few weeks ago, deciding that a few mishaps with service and lacking waiting staff could be forgiving. After all, the place has been there a really long time. My boyfriend and I were immediately seated. I thought that was a great start. Then we ordered our drinks.....then the waiting began. We had to ask when we would expect them. By then we were ready to order and did. My waffle was overcooked to the point of it being black on the bottom, and my boyfriend's biscuits and gravy could be comparable to hockey pucks. What's more, the gravy was cold. We were going go send it back...we watched our waitress hang out behind the desk with other coworkers laughing a joking, and even flirting with the men in the booth behind is. Pretty much everything but her job. The only thing that was done diligently was the check delivered within five minutes of getting our food. That's tacky and just disrespectful, especially when she passed on the checks to another girl who was washing dishes in the back. I was furious, and still hungry. By the time we left, we tactfully expressed how horrible their service had been. I refuse to leave a tip when expected to endure that! Our waitress apologized and of all things blamed it on the new girl that have us our check. Unbelievable. I'm halfway tempted to call Restaurant Impossible because they seriously need to clean up their act. More and more people are refusing to return, myself included. I did find out that there was a change in management, things went downhill from there evidently. Haven't been to this restaurant in 5 years. Decided to take the family today to have some breakfast. I ordered the blueberry waffle, my little one a chocolate chip waffle, my 5 years old eggs and French toast and my husband the ham and eggs. My husband only ate the ham due to the scrambled eggs being under cooked and extremely runny to where you can see the wet egg puddle and his biscuits and gravy were cold and his hash browns were soggy. When he notified the waitress she replied "why didn't you tell me before so I could've brought you out another plate?" She said she was only going to charge him for the ham.
