I had recently had some friends have pools built so I did meet with one of their builders. After Zak came out to meet with us to talk about what we had in mind, it was their business to loose. Zak came up with some great ideas and he seemed very knowledgeable about the permitting process here in New Braunfels. He knew of one of the other companies I was waiting on a quote from and very honestly told me his company would probably be higher. He explained some of the reasons why which all made sense to me and seemed legitimate. When meeting Zak I felt this was a local company that knew what they were doing, had their own crews and could be trusted. Pool builders are normally ranked somewhere between accident lawyers and software salespeople. Just a joke. All said and done our new pool is in and more beautiful than the design Zak had created for us. The project stayed on schedule and their crews were very skilled, respectful and cleaned up after them selves. This company is top notch and I highly recommend using them. I searched for a artificial grass company and found this one on Yelp. With 5 stars and many…read morereviews it fit my bill. I filled out a web form and then was soon contacted by Lindy. She arranged a time to come by and survey the small patch of my front yard that has had dying grass since the trees overhead have gotten older and fuller. She came promptly on time, took measurements and made recommendations on the type of turf based on my plans for the surface (nothing). Later in the day, I got a bid from her and I signed the online paperwork, sent in a deposit and they scheduled a day to come out and install. They showed up on time, did the installation. They also cleaned up the site with a power blower and left me the remainder of the turf for me to use however I saw fit. There was a slight miss where they didn't cap one sprinkler head out of 10 and so the sprinkler was pushing up against the turf on my test run. They came later in the week and fixed it to my satisfaction. Lindy was on top of all this including the scheduling, the visit to go over the completion checklist, as well has handling the crew to get them back out to fix the lone sprinkler. Additionally, during the day of the installation, another Southern Turf staff member came out to survey the work just to check on the progress. I would recommend them for future work, if I had any.

The gift that keeps on giving. When they remodeled my pool a while back, they cracked one of my…read moreskimmers -- which they acknowledge was their fault. They "fixed" it at their cost. What I'm unfortunately just now finding out is that the fix was nothing more than a temporary patch that's now causing other problems. They coated the inside of the skimmer including joint between the skimmer and pipe with epoxy, which also filled in all the threads that are used to screw in a standpipe or other equipment that is used to facilitate other types of pool maintenance and repair. Which brings me to today. I have a leak somewhere underground between my skimmer & my pump. The repairman I had out would like to simply to simply screw his equipment into the skimmer to pressurize it -- so he can then find the leak by listening with something like a fancy stethoscope. The problem is that because of the amateur repair job done years ago he cannot screw anything into the skimmer, nor he can any of his bladders seal because the epoxy job is all uneven and irregular. He has a plan B but it's not as easy and will cost more. Live and learn.
