Today is Veterans Day and we are a veteran family. I found out about their VD promo for a free meal for a Veteran either in person or online. As I did not see a promo code online, I called this store ahead of time to verify if I could come in with boyfriend's veteran ID and pick up meal for him. Sure I was told. The restaurant is not nearby. I showed up and placed my order and let them know I had called first. The kid that answered the phone was ringing me up and did not know how to apply promo so he asked another kid. The second kid basically said the kid ringing me up did not know what he was talking about when he answered the phone and that unless I had a promo code I was out of luck. You know, I went out of my way for this and could have easily spent my money elsewhere. Kid could have cared less and basically said Screw you Veteran by his actions/lack of customer service. Owner needs to train staff on basic customer etiquette. I as a former District Manager of a chain would have fired this staff on the spot. I will never step foot in this restaurant again! Love this location! The quality of the food is amazing and I always receive excellent customer service. I can't stop eating here! A 1 star Is way to much for this location, called my order in and spoke to a Nichols.mind you its 10 minutes before closing, the first thing nicholas tells me is, we close in ten minutes, and I tell him yes I know and will be there before closing, he proceeds to tell me. Ok I hope so, when I get there 5 minutes before closing, my order hasnt even been started, so I tell nicholas that my whole purpose of calling the order in was for it to at least get a head start, he proceeds wig the worst attitude and states well this is how it is and that I needed to pay first, when I know for a fact it's not the case as I have ordered here before and have never had any issues, so I ask him for his managers name, he tells me his name and continues with, itsnot going to change anything, and adds, your the one being a DICK, wow! NEVER in my times of coming here has the service been this horrible, but to be insulted is ridiculous!!! read more

Waba wabaaaaa. I've eaten in and taken to-go. It's basically Flame Broiler but a little more expensive. I've ordered half and half chicken and steak with veggies. Where they get you is they chop it into little pieces on top so it looks like your eating a lot but there's 90% rice under it all. Maybe I'll order something else. One of the largest dining areas and patio space I've seen at a Waba Grill. That was nice. Despite the spacious dining area, it's also the first one I've come across without a self-serve station with a heated teriyaki sauce dispenser and no freshly diced green onion or chilled sliced lemons. Also, my chicken was really dry and overcooked, yet my food was lukewarm. My bowl was so sticky and sloppily assembled. I ordered a takeout bowl around 10:30 and arrived ten minutes later. I don't think the food was sitting out that long before I received it, just seemed lukewarm. Maybe my sauce cooled it down as it was cold, now that I recall, the sauce was out of a plastic dispenser that was cold so maybe it came out of a fridge just moments before. I've recently become hooked on Waba and it has become my go-to for lunches, but I was disappointed by the food quality of this location . It's also the first one I've come across with a tip jar clearly set in front of the register. I automatically threw my change in there, but had I seen the poor quality of the chicken, I'd have thought twice. I'll just remember for future visits to maybe try the shrimp or beef instead. Great vegetables, brown rice and favorable meat in popular bowl fashion. The large servings make dishes affordable for two meals in one. The only negative is the loud music which makes conversations nearly impossible. All the hard surfaces without many booths make the noise worse. Great for a fast food to go meal. read more

Love the convenience, the friendly atmosphere, and the perfectly spiced and prepared to order menu. My personal favorite is a combo shrimp and steak plate. I'm not a fan of kale salad, miss the old salad, maybe we could have a choice? The fresh orange wedge is the perfect side. read more

I love Waba Grill, but not this one. Would've been 5 stars, but compared to other Waba Grills, this one doesn't measure up. This one is pricier per entree across the board, the veggies could be steamed longer, and they don't have Louisiana Hot Sauce like many of their other counterparts in other parts of SoCal. Tried this place out the other day and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. The portions were filling, the flavor was great and the best part I got more than 3 shrimp in my shrimp bowl! Only bad (which isn't really bad just annoying) was the brown rice was a little mushy and the carrots in the veggies were also mushy. Other than that delicious and I will be back for sure! read more

A basic chicken/beef bowl made up of a lot of rice and some really hard vegetables for ten dollars. It's still a pretty good option if you're looking for some healthier fast food. Sometimes you end up with more gristle than actual meat so it can be hit and miss. read more

I will NEVER support this business again. Since when is it the job of an employee to demand a mask be worn a certain way?!? I witnessed a customer (who was wearing a mask with his nose slightly exposed) being very rudely told that he needed to "fix his mask". When the customer informed the employee that he had severe asthma and struggled to wear a mask, she told him she didn't care and that he needed to wear it correctly or get out! I was in disbelief!!!! On another note, this employee had long acrylic nails, and was NOT wearing gloves. People who work in the food industry are discouraged to wear acrylic nails due to the fact that they are a breeding ground for bacteria. If she is so concerned with sanitary issues then why in the world is she wearing acrylic nails and not wearing gloves? Then, when he went to pay she told him he couldn't pay with cash due to a coin shortage...he even stated he had exact change and she still refused! What in the world is going on here?? Covid-19 is NOT an excuse for customer service to be non-existent. Employees should still treat customers with professionalism and respect. If establishments are going to ignore HIPAA laws and basic etiquette then maybe they should just close. read more

I like WaBa Grill. The food is always fresh and hot. The customer service is also great here. It is clean and you can see them cooking the food. The only thing I wish they would do is get rid of those oranges and give some other kind of fruit. The picture on the wall has cantaloupe and it looks so good! read more

I love this place!!! First reason is I have celiac disease and they make my meals with no sauce/no spice and have gluten free soy sauce. Second is the food is delicious! I work at a school nearby and the kids wanted to get Waba for the last day of school. I had an order of 16 items, all way different. I was pleasantly surprised when I got back to work with my order and every single meal was perfect! All 16 orders were correct. I was happy and the kids were very happy. Really like this place. Food taste fresh, the staff greets you when you come in and they ate friendly. Been here 3 times and will keep coming back. I've had chicken and steak both equally good. Get extra meat for $2.75 and is even better, though most will be happy with the portion that comes with the meal.
