This place is pretty authentic Juan Pollo. I should know. I grew up 3 blocks from the original Juan Pollo in San Bernardino. The chicken is juicy, flavorful and charred perfectly. The potato salad is one of the best things on the menu, and the rice is sticky and chicken flavored. The salsa is chunky and goes well with everything. I grew up eating the chicken tacos and these are pretty much the same. (Although , be careful with little ones, one of my tacos had a bone.) The tacos used to be 10 for $10. But now they are $6.99 for 2. A two piece combo was a little over $14. But you gotta pay it when the craving hits. I'm happy to eat here when working in Temecula, which is not too often. read more

I have been going to Juan's on several occasions in the past and usually get the chicken bowl or the salad. Today, September 7, 2024 at about 3:30 PM I called in an order. The order was to be two chicken dinners and on chicken bowl. They said they couldn't do a chicken bowl because they don't have any shredded or pulled chicken. So I asked for the chicken salad and got the same answer. So I ordered two chicken dinners and figure I would have to pick up something some where else. When I told the people I was with they said that is absurd. It would take them two minutes to pull the chicken off the bone and make the salad or chicken bowl . I went to pick up the dinners and when I got there at about 4 PM there were two people working there a man and a woman. There was only one customer. I asked why they can't just pull the chicken off the bone to make a chicken bowl. The woman went back in the back and talked to the man then came back but didn't answer my question. Meanwhile the guy in the back had finished the last order and I was the only customer in the restaurant. I asked her again so she went back and talked to the guy in the back. By this time he has finished all the orders and was just leaning against the wall doing nothing. She came back out and I asked what he said. She just repeated the comment "He said we don't have any shredded chicken so he won't make a chicken bowl or a salad. The only thing I could get would be a chicken dinner. When I choose a business to frequent one of my biggest concerns is how they treat their customers. When a customer asks for something you do whatever you have to do to provide it if you really care about customers. It is clear that the employees at Juan's don't care about customers. I bought a TVHS football fundraiser card (electronic) that gives you discounts at participating local businesses. I have used it at some other businesses without any problem. The details for the specific discount I tried to receive today are in the screenshot I have included. When I tried to redeem it today, the elderly woman that I have read about in some of these other comments absolutely refused to accept the fundraiser card and said she "doesn't take those." She wouldn't listen to what I had to see and just kept repeating that she doesn't accept the card and that she only takes paper coupons. She was SO rude from the time I placed my order on the phone. When I walked in, she dismissively threw her hand up at me and walked away and continued to refuse the discount card even though it has the exact name and exact same physical address as her place of business. She tried to use the excuse of "this isn't Juan Pollo." I showed her the name of Juan's Rotisserie with Ynez address on my phone and all she could say was it didn't matter. I don't understand how she can deny people the discount that we paid to get with the fundraiser card. Worse than not getting the discount was this woman's horrendous attitude and customer service (rather lack thereof.). It is absolutely unacceptable.
