I asked if the sofritas was GF (due to Celiac disease) the guy said it's made from tofu (said it like we were stupid). Yes, tofu is GF but maybe what they put on it isn't or my be cross-contaminated)! The next girl was confused as to what protein I wanted (ordered veggie because the guy didn't know what he was talking about as far as the sofritas being GF) and I didn't want any meat. Employee was rushed, I just signed up for rewards and wanted one of the earn free sides. I told her I didn't want the cilantro lime sause and instead wanted the guac/chips. I received the guac/chip reward and they gave me the cilantro lime sauce even even though I said no and charge me for it (I didn't realize this until I was home). Not one employee smiled once and all seemed annoyed to be there. When another customer in front of me asked for white rice, it took the guy 10 minutes to get it, meanwhile, the whole food station came to a standstill waiting for him. was disappointed with my experience at Waba Grill today. The seating area was extremely hot and uncomfortable, which made it difficult to enjoy our meal. The customer service was also lacking. I ordered four bowls and made a few simple requests, like having the sauce served on the side instead of mixed into the bowl, but that request was ignored. I also asked for five packets of sriracha for our order of four bowls and was only given one packet. Small accommodations like these go a long way in creating a positive customer experience. Unfortunately, the staff came across as stingy and inattentive to customer requests. I hope management addresses these issues. read more

Huge disappointment. We always look forward to getting waba grill because we don't have one in our city anymore. We came in to this location & ordered 4 bowls & dumplings. VERY SMALL portions sizes. Cold soggy dumplings. & Staff was arguing with each other. Cursing words very loudly. It was super uncomfortable as we dined in. Than we hear one of the staff arguing with customers over the phone. Stopped by Waba Grill and was really let down. The heavy-set guy named Jesus at the register didn't greet us, didn't smile, and had zero personality. He just stood there with a giant tip container on the counter this is a fast food place, not full-service. Why are tips even being pushed? We ordered chicken rice bowls, but the portions were weak barely any protein, and for the price, it just didn't feel worth it. We asked for green onions, which were forgotten, so we had to go back up and ask again. Also told him the order was for here, but he packed it to-go anyway, probably just to avoid cleaning a tray. It was clean and aesthetically decorated without being over the top tacky. Employee had his air pods in while standing around on his phone, maybe we need more present employees to ensure quality control. My steak bowl costing $12+ was half the size of my daughter's chicken bowl including half the serving of rice and veggies, looked like I got a kid's meal. Absolutely horrible customer service. The gentleman at the register was noncommunicative and just pointed to the machine when it was time to pay. These type of people should not be in customer service and he should be let go immediately or no one will want to go there anymore. Food was decent. Waba's in other areas are much better much friendlier and much cleaner. Couldn't believe the guy had the nerve to treat his customers so disrespectfully. Very poor hiring decision. 6 STARS! Clean place, friendly servers showed me what to do. I've now experienced the one of the best explosions of flavors ever. The all you can eat hot pot and it was absolutely spectacular. Other food places are always forgetting my stuff and I panicked and thought he forgot a taco but turns out my silly brain didn't see it in the bag! I ordered a chicken bowl and salmon bowl. I told the young man at the register my vegetables were raw and he argued that with me about it! I had to keep repeating myself because he didn't believe me. Also, the rice was an inch and a half deep on both bowls. Terrible service! I spent $30 on two bowls and get treated like that? I'm not going back. The young man has a real attitude problem. The manager Cesar argued with me and rather than apologize for their unhygienic practices, he insulted me in Spanish in the background of the call (not knowing I speak Spanish). I was hoping I didn't have to resort to leaving a negative review but after reaching out to both the WaBa location directly as well as their customer service email (multiple times) with no response. I decided I would go this route. I really like WaBa the food is good and I tend to order from there when I need lunch. However, this time I had a horrible experience. After finishing just over half my food, I felt something hard brush against my teeth. I spit it out thinking it was a bone or something! No, it was a metal screw. I enjoy eating here, often times getting my food to go. I usually get their Beef & veggie bowl. The meat is seasoned to perfection, very flavorful not tough, or a lot of fat left over which is a plus. They are not stingy on their veggies which is great. Nice balance of meat/veggies/rice. Every time I order there is always a friendly person waiting to greet me, take my order. Not sure if they offer this deal every day but when i've been in they've had deals for the bowls, 2 for $10 (you choose between beef or chicken). Regardless, I will continue coming here. Truth be told, I have never been to any of the WaBa chain locations before, thus having no preconceptions of the brand. This one is newly opened along Ynez in a small area with dedicated parking spacesuit warning: the whole lot is competitive with the neighboring businesses. I tried the Chicken Bowl, which comes with rice and choice of green onions. The order came out quickly and the service was fine. Though I can think of at least one other place that does this kind of dish better than WaBa, the portion seems okay for the price. Looking at the other options and comparing to rivals, I'm not sure I'd be a regular visitor, but there were a number of patrons dining and this is just another available restaurant to get a meal in the area. read more

Not too big a fan of the steak, it's all chopped up, thin and although they're food is served with teriyaki sauce, the steaks seems to be oversoaked in sauce. Always greeted by friendly young staff members. Pretty fast at taking orders, efficient in getting my order correct. Great bargain of two bowls plus drinks for $11.99!!
