My daughter and her boyfriend went to Angry Chickz near the Temecula mall. He ordered the "Hot" spice level. The employee told him it contained ghost peppers, and he said, "Okay," because he genuinely didn't know what that meant. Not everyone knows what ghost peppers are or realizes they're one of the hottest peppers in the world. (Mind you he is a teen) When I called to ask if they could simply exchange it for a milder spice level, Manager Samantha told me they would not exchange it because of their policy. She said there was a "W" on the receipt indicating they had "warned" him. But simply saying "it has ghost peppers" is not a meaningful warning for someone who doesn't know anything about peppers. A better explanation would have been, "This is extremely spicy, and many people find it too hot to eat. Are you still sure you want it?" Samantha also told me they used to exchange overly spicy orders but changed their policy. That's incredibly disappointing. We weren't asking for a refund or trying to get free food. We simply wanted to exchange an inedible meal for one he could actually eat instead of throwing it in the trash. A reasonable exchange would have created a happy, returning customer. Instead, they chose to hide behind a policy. Customer service clearly isn't a priority here. Because of this experience, our family won't be returning. If your policy results in customers throwing away perfectly good food instead of allowing a simple exchange, it's time to rethink the policy or consider removing that heat level from the menu if it has caused enough issues to require such a strict rule. We left feeling like customer satisfaction mattered less than enforcing the policy, and that's a shame because it cost your business loyal customers. read more

Have driven past Angry Chickz SO many times and kept telling myself that I need to give it a try. Finally had a free minute to stop in. Wasn't super hungry so all I had was a single slider (essentially a chicken sandwich). Got the heat level at Hot. The cashier warned me it had ghost pepper in the seasoning. I was like, "no problem". I survived but it was hotter than I wanted. The slider bun was soft, the large tender was hot and juicy. Also got there sauce. It was good. Less black pepper tase than Canes and no where near as sweet as Chick-fil-A sauce. Only thing I wasn't pumped on was how wet the coleslaw was. I like a dryer coleslaw that has more snap. The only "Angry Chick" in the building tonight was my girlfriend..... we came in tonight after hearing great things about this place from peers and co-workers. We were wildly disappointed. We were the ONLY people in the establishment when we arrived... so catering to us shouldn't have been a struggle since nobody else was there. We ordered TWO chicken sandwiches. Very simple order. We watched a party of 7 come in and get fed before us, and 3 more smaller parties. After 48 minutes (yes, we kept track) of watching other people get fed before us, we finally got up to complain. Our food was sitting on the counter the entire time. At this point closing time was approaching so I told the cashier I'll take my refund as now I don't have adequate time to sit and enjoy my meal with my girlfriend after our long day of work. At this point we'd be rushing to eat soggy / cold food that's been sitting on the counter for who knows how long. Cashier issued my refund. Crew wasn't very apologetic about any of it. Read lots of negative reviews but we decided to check this place out while we were in the area anyways. Dave's hot chicken competitor. Well my Dave's hot experiences have been mixed from pretty good to the saltiest chicken I have ever eaten. Lots of reviews I read were about horrible wait times and the staff laughing about it. I'm not sure if I was just lucky but we didn't experience any of that. Food took about 5 minutes while we were there, granted there was only about 5-6 other people there. I have been to Angry Chicks probably a dozen times. Unfortunately, I think the last time will be my last. It is just way too inconsistent when it comes to spice. I always order my chicken mild. Sometimes it comes out perfect. Other times it comes out so spicy I can't eat it. It seems to be the worst on the weekends. This is not the cheapest place in the world so it really hurts when they do this. To me, it would be an easy fix to have the same measurement of spices so no matter who is cooking it is the same. We also had some Seasoned Fries and Cold Slaw as our sides for our Combo One Aside - we're not sure why they spiced up the fries for a Combo order with "no heat", but we survived but you've been warned. The closest parallel to Angry Chickz, would be Dave's Hot Chicken. Both places charge about $10 to $14 for a Combo. That might be rich, given you only get two chicken strips, with an additional piece going for $4 each. But again, we found the food to be good. Our bill with two Combos and one drink came to $32.07. I will not be dining here again. My husband went once and wanted me to check it out because we love spicy food. The only good part of the meal was the chicken that was edible. Some people may be able to eat the hot (not even the hottest one!) but not me. And I'd like to think I can handle hear pretty well. I know there's a bunch of these Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich places popping up all over, but imho, Angry Chickz is straight FIYAHHHH!!! Been here to this Temecula location twice now, and the second time was even better than the first! This used to be that dessert shop...Neo or something lol...I can't remember the exact name but if you know where Men's Wearhouse is by the Promenade mall, it's literally right there. Parking isn't usually a problem, although it could get tight during peak times and on weekends. Both times I ordered a slider with medium heat and the Hangry Fix. First time I got it as is, with a bed of fluffy rice, topped with cole slaw, mac 'n cheese, and the cut up chicken with a medium spice level. That's a really good kick for me, so I always have to get the packets of honey to balance it out. Works like a charm! Second time I went up one level on the spice for the Hangry Fix, and asked for no slaw and extra mac 'n cheese instead. They did it, no problem! First time I went on a Sunday and it was pretty busy in the afternoon. I'd say the wait time was about 20 minutes. Second time I went in mid-day and got my order in 7 minutes! I like how the friendly the staff is. They take the time to pack your food so it's not all sloppy like how they do it at ... dare I even say it?! (dun dun dunnnnn...) Dave's Hot Chicken!! This place is hands down way better and I feel like you get more bang for your buck here. There's a good amount of seating indoors and they also have patio seating. You gotta try it at least once! Dirt on the floors , the table we sat at had a big spill and paper towels on the floor. The guy that finally came to clean it only picked up the paper towels and left the wet mess on the floor. Bathrooms: single person bathrooms, and the men's bathroom had no soap (they do not implement the mask rule) so it was disappointing to know the 5 men in front of me for the bathroom line had not used any soap if/when they washed their hands. The food is the best at Angry Chickz! I was a regular at the Oside location until it closed due to fire damage a few months ago when the pizza place next door to it caught on fire... but I digress. This location is behind the Hallmark store in the sister lot to Phil's bbq on the outskirts of the promenade mall in Temecula. Not the best location but at least it's central and easy to get to. Love the patio seating and many seating options inside. They have everything from country style (which means no heat) to super hot (which you have to sign a waiver for.) I like to get mild or medium when I'm feeling a little spicy. The angry Mac and cheese is the most delicious thing with a layer of seasoned fries, mac & cheese and of course chicken. I love to get a coleslaw (which I don't normally don't like) and put it on top of my angry Mac for a truly balanced meal. The sandwiches are amazing as well. They call them sliders but they are a good size. Instead of fries you can also get rice which a lot of the people I work with love. Anyway, once you go here you will understand.
