    Sweet & Spicy Chicken Bowl

Worst Waba portions place ever. I stopped coming here about 6 or 7 months because the portions were ridiculously low. I came back today 8/9/26 to give it another chance, and it got worse. I mean, they almost don't bother to put chicken on the "chicken bowl" See my pictures and judge by yourself. The employee said: I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do, they weight the portions. So the issue goes higher in management. Extremely disappointed. I will never come back. The 1 star is just for the employees. And I'm not a random guy, I'm an avid Waba consumer, sometimes 5 times a week. I got more than 1000 points rewards. I know what I'm talking about.

    Extremely small portions. Rip off

This place is such a scam. I ordered a waba bowl and the portions are disgustingly small. Do not go to this location unless you want to leave disappoint and get ripped off. I paid $12 for something that couldn't even feed a child, let alone a grown adult. Terrible customer service.

My family and I love waba grill, we literally eat waba every weekend if not during the week. We live around the corner and have been coming to this waba for ages. I asked about the kids eat free bowl as my little sister doesn't eat a lot and was told no we don't have it the promotion ended already by the cashier, mind you there was an advertisement on their screens promoting the kids eat free bowl which we have gotten for my little sister before already. I said oh but it's on the screen right there look, she says no it ended last week they just haven't updated the screen promotions... then why's it have the date of 5/31 - 9/7.... I point out the dates. Still a no. She told me a customer came in earlier they tried it, it didn't work so they don't have it no more. Today was a bad day at waba.

One fork and 2 dumped sweet chili sauces for 3 meals.

Horrible, if I can give it zero stars I would. I ordered two bowls, one spicy Waba, and one regular waba Along with an order of potstickers. The only sauce that was provided was one of sweet chili and it was dumped in bag. They literally placed the dumplings upside down. When I called to let them know, the lady I spoke with, was very rude and basically saying what I was saying wasn't true, so I figured I'd post a picture and let everyone know to avoid going to this location and maybe they should be more professional when dealing with customers over the phone.

FROZEN "KIMCHI" EDAMAME. But has no taste of kimchi what so ever.

I have always loved WaBa Grill over Flame Broiler. This was my first time ordering from this location & also using Uber eats to make an order. I ordered a Steak Plate with a replacement of the fruit for two gyoza/potstickers. I had also specified for green onion. Along with a side of Edamame Kimchi, Side Salad, Rice Krispy Marshmallow. -The Steak plate was perfect ! - Just was missing the green onions. - The Edamame Kimchi was completely something else. The Edamame tasted like the dressing from the salad and was not spicy nor did it have a "kimchi" taste. It was also COMPLETELY FORZEN ! -The side salad that I ordered separately had no dressing for it. I believe if I were to ever go back to this location, I would rather go in and place my order than ordering thru Uber eats.

Came in on Saturday afternoon and ordered two plates and three mini bowls for my kids and we all sat down to eat in the restaurant. They have signs everywhere for kids eat free with the purchase of a meal. When I asked why I didn't receive the promotion they said they don't advertise it and she refused to refund me for two of the three mini bowls for my kids. As we are sitting there and eating, I hear her offer it to someone that doesn't even have kids. Rude service from I think her name was Bernadette, on the reciepet it says izet d. Very rude and Will never come back here. When I asked for a manager there wasn't one available.

During our visit, we went with the Chef's Recommendation menu and also added mentaiko buttered scallops. I love the interior of this place. The service was also impeccable. Braised Beef Tongue - Practically melts in your mouth Wagyu Carppacio - This dish had so many textures to it. You have the raw beef carpaccio, the salad with sauce on top adds flavor to it, and finally it has the Lays chips on top to give it some crunchy texture. Japanese Wagyu Sukiyaki - My favorite thing from this evening. They do such a great show of preparing this for you and you get a dipping plate with a raw egg to get all the flavors in this. The sukiyaki sauce in the bowl was super flavorful and strong. Wagyu Short Rib - This definitely tastes better using the spices they give for your meal. It's more on the lean side so it was very easy to eat iWagyu Prime Short Rib - This has a little bit more fat and on the chewier side when ate plain. But with the dipping spices, it definitely brings out the saltiness the meat needs Wagyu Bibimbap - The staff will mix this in front of you and make sure all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed so you can get a little bit of seaweed, wagyu, sauce, and rice in every bite. Of course by the time we got to this, we were way too full so I only got a few bites in before I had to call it and to-go the rest. Mentaiko Buttered Scallops - This was amazingly creamy. However I did make a mistake by adding this to the chef's recommendation. The Chef's Recommendation is curated where everything compliments each other. The mentaiko buttered scallops had their usual strong salty taste and super creamy due to the butter, but it was too strong when added to the Chef's Recommendation that I could barely eat it during the meal. Our next return, I will go with just the chef's recommendation to avoid messing up the balance. But the chef's recommendation was curated very well if you're not sure what to get! The bibimbap and sukiyaki were the chef's kiss

There were some bites that were creamy and some bites that weren't. I honestly thought it could use more cream or butter to add some more richness. The pasta itself was al dente. There wasn't much flavor overall with the dish, and the mala was very mild (for reference, I can handle medium spice levels at other restaurants). The seafood quality was okay for the price. [Parking]: The dumpling house shares the same plaza parking lot as Tokyo Central in West Covina and our party had no issue finding an available parking spot. [Atmosphere]: A fairly standard no-frills Chinese restaurant setup with indoor tables only and our party was able to grab a table immediately at 7:30 PM on Saturday. [Menu]: Customers use a Sharpie to circle and place orders on a laminated menu. Yelp's top highlighted items are Beef Noodle Soup, Juicy Pork Dumplings, and Shrimp and Pork Wontons. The menu highlights recommended dishes with a thumbs-up icon and those dishes include #6 Braised Beef Noodle Soup, #14 Shrimp & Chicken Dumplings, #20 Shrimp & Pork Wontons in Chili Sauce, #21 Juicy Pork Dumplings (aka XLB), and #27 Pan-Fried Pork Buns. *** #6 Braised Beef Noodle Soup (mild - $14.99): S-tier broth and noodles. The noodles had soft texture and the broth was clear & flavorful. Spicy level was also just right. In addition, the broth did not taste particularly oily. The meat was good, but I prefer the beef tendon from some other SGV (San Gabriel Valley) beef noodle soup spots. #14 Shrimp & Chicken Dumpling (10 pieces - $12.99): Excellent chewy dough and I actually liked these dumplings more than the XLBs. I am also a fan of the garlic & oyster dipping sauce. S-tier dumplings. #21 Juicy Pork Dumpling (aka XLB 8 pieces - $13.49): Interesting broth with a slightly sweet and savory flavor. The dough was a bit thicker than I would have liked and the flavor was not as good as newer spots like Yum Long in Monterey Park, but still a solid A-tier dish. *** Overall a solid 4.5-star for the food (bonus points for the beef noodle soup and shrimp & chicken dumplings), bump up to 5-star for efficient service, easy parking, and no wait on weekends.

Overall, the food was excellent, even my Asian parents, who can be pretty critical when it comes to Chinese food, gave most dishes high marks. The crispy noodles had great texture, the West Lake beef soup was comforting and flavorful, and the eggplant portions were generous. The service was what I'd describe as classic Chinese restaurant service. The waitress came across as a little rushed and occasionally seemed slightly annoyed, but she was still attentive and accommodated everything we asked for without any issues. Our food came out at a reasonable pace, and we never felt forgotten or had to chase anyone down. The atmosphere had its own unique charm. The restaurant was playing early-2000s hip-hop while a Chinese gangster drama played on the TV, which made for an unexpectedly entertaining backdrop. The restroom was also clean, which is always appreciated. My only real criticism is the sweet and sour pork. The batter itself was crispy and well executed, but too many of the pieces were mostly breading wrapped around bone with very little meat. It was the one dish I probably wouldn't order again. The typhoon ribs were filled with fried garlic and the ribs came out hot and crispy!
