WaBa Grill is a solid chain. This location is the most conveniently located to my work so I usually find myself stopping here when I'm craving something fast and healthier. Pros: the food always tastes fresh & is usually cooked to order. My favorite bite here is the Waba bowl (teriyaki chicken and beef) over rice. Add some dumplings with spicy sauce and I'm all set. Also the pricing is reasonable and under $15. The staff and friendliness are usually pretty good here. I'd say if I've been here 15 times only once was the service bad but that was on a weekend. I almost always come during lunch on a weekday and the gentlemen that are working are nice and effective. Quick to get out orders. Cons: anyone else feel judged for asking for extra sauce? lol. I wish they would just keep the sauce over the counter for customers to grab packets. And yes, I get there are annoying people out there that take too much but I'd like to think the general public are just taking what they need, like I do. Every time I go I always have to ask for extra and sometimes it seems to inconvenience the staff. Or they'll throw in one despite asking for two. Don't know what the deal with the sauce is but always seems like it's being rationed lol. I miss pre covid when you could just scoop your own sauce. Last con: at this location the parking is rough. At lunchtime it's usually pretty hard to find parking close to the shop or if you do find parking it's really snug! Sometimes I can't take a spot up front because it's just too tight. Nothing this restaurant can do about it but I note it because it does make it more challenging for customers to get in and out.

WaBa Rice & Veggie Bowl (with white meat chicken)

This is my favorite teriyaki bowl spot! I always appreciate the food and the service when visiting one and this spot continues that trend. The food is fresh and it's a great way to eat clean. I get the WaBa Bowl w/ veggies and brown rice and I get white meat chicken (which cost a little extra but is worth it). Make sure you get green onions and extra WaBa sauce to complete the meal. I definitely recommend checking this spot out.

Before

The food is so good! Amazing customer service and the store is very clean. It's a little expensive but was worth it Get the sweet and spicy rice bowl with boom boom sauce and you will have an amazing lunch !! Included is a before and after!!!

First time eating here and it was terrible. $15 for a dried out small thin piece of salmon and some cheap rice. And the $10 chicken bowl was SO dry. Horrible quality meats. Will not be eating here again. Only gave it a 2 because the shrimp taco was ok.

Tofu veggie bowl w brown rice, sauce on the side :)

I came here for a quick late lunch the other day for the first time (@ this location). The cashier was really helpful and friendly and entered my requests with ease (brown rice/tofu/veggie bowl sauce on the side). My food was ready very quickly and it was delicious! The tofu was cooked just right and the veggies were soft enough without being mush. I sat by the window & ate it there. Asked for a lid as I couldn't finish it and they were quick to give me one. This is a small Waba, as most of them are, and it was clean and well lit with plenty of natural light as well. The service was great and the food was excellent. Will definitely return to this location!

Good food for the price. Cheaper than most fast food restaurants. Yummy wontons is also a great value. Note to the owner: masks are no longer required, so please take down your mask required sign.

Rice bowl with salmon.

So, I don't get what the big deal is about this place. My lunch was the equivalent of a glorified rice bowl from Panda Express. I will say the salmon was flavorful, though. I walked in around 11, before the lunch "rush". And, the first thing I noticed was the music. I could hear their music from 1/2 way across the parking lot! Thankfully, I liked the radio station, but still. It was a tad much. There seemed to be confusion with who was taking my order. A shorter girl was there first, said "Hi" and welcomed me. But, as I began to ask just a few questions, another person kind of pushed her aside and they took my order, instead. It was just odd. I only asked a few clarifying questions about the protein, since today was my first visit. I decided on the Rice Bowl with Salmon. I don't know what I was expecting but this wasn't really it. As I said in the beginning, my meal was a larger Rice Bowl with 1 side from Panda. I was debating about going to Poke Land instead of here, but I wanted to try it to see what the hype was about. Sorry, I wasn't impressed in the least. I won't be back. EDIT: I don't care for getting grief of my reviews, so I edited somethings out to appease those who were burnt about it.

Wrong Food / Rude Cashier
Kohl B.

I ordered a Chicken and Veggie bowl with all white meat and broccoli only. My receipt matches what I had asked for, but when I got home I noticed my order was wrong. The cashier was rude. Probably won't be going to this location again.

#3 signature plate this is so delicious. It is filling without feeling guilty because it's healthy.

Their SPICY EDAMAME is addicting! They add the perfect amount of spice and hint of sugar, highly recommend! The DUCK RAMEN was great too! Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. Loved the enoki mushrooms and yolky boiled egg. Also tried their Godzilla and KAIJUrolls- both were tasty. My husband is not a fan of kewpie mayo so we had it on the side. TIP: ORDER a side of SRIRACHA and a side of GARLIC CHILI OIL. Dipping your sushi in both of these will take your tastebuds to another level!! DRINKS: It was hard to decide between all the different choices. Millennium Falcon Fizz was delicious- reminds me of a Scooby snack, comes with a foamy top. They give you a bottle of water which is nice, but the waitress forgot to give us a refill when we asked for it. Other than that, the staff is friendly and did a good job checking on us. If you're in the area check it out!

We drove down from SLO and I was craving hotpot since there's not much asian food where I'm at. The server working on Saturday afternoon was so friendly and helpful! He was the only one working but he got us everything we needed and even bussed all the tables himself. I was really impressed that he could handle the whole store himself and still keep up a really positive attitude!! The food was really good! Compared to SoCal, it might be considered average, but when you compare it to anything in the central coast (esp north) it's really tasty!! We talked about coming back any time we have some business out here! It was relatively quiet and peaceful. I think we went in during a slow time, but I'm glad we did!

It also doesn't provide that traditional hotpot experience which I find much more enjoyable. However in VC options are limited, so when I saw Tasty Pot recently opened I was quite ecstatic! There were 12 different pots and 5 spicy levels to choose from. Pot numbers 1-7 were smaller size and numbers 8-12 were larger size pots. Except for the Healthy Veggie pot, all the soup base was pork broth. Most of the pots also had very similar ingredients, the difference I could see were the main protein choice and soup flavor. They also have another menu for rice and noodle options if you didn't want to do the personal pots. We got the Taiwanese Supreme in mild and the Seafood Lobster in medium. We also got a side of quail eggs. The pots arrived with a candle of some sort below to keep it hot. Both pots were of the larger size and filled with lots of food. The mild was the perfect level of spicy for me, a hint of spice that does not overpower the original flavor of the ingredients, rather it enhanced each one and made it more tasty. Service was good, our server came by frequently to check on us and to refill the soup. At one point the flame under the pot had already gone out but we hadn't cook the noodles so we requested another flame. We were told they had to bring the pot back to the kitchen to heat it up. So I guess the flame was there to just keep the pot warm rather than actually cooking. Although this cannot compare to the traditional hotpot, this personal hotpot is still a very good option and helps to satisfy my craving.

The Sun kissed Roll & the Alaskan Roll are some of my favorites. It's pretty chill here. Service has been a hit or miss. On my last visit, it took a while to get seated. My friends ordered off of the Happy Hour menu and were pleased with the Miso Salmon & Tempura. I ordered off both menus. I ordered the Ika Karrage Twice: both times it was burnt, one would think that after sending it back the first time because it was dark brown & black, that the 2nd time they'd have gotten it right, but they didn't care, nor did our server. I ordered an oyster shooter (better to order two for the price is $2 more) and it didn't arrive until the end of our meal & only after I asked, worse, it may have been a whole oyster, but it was shredded and in 3-4 pieces. The pork belly was excellent, but my drink, didn't arrive until over 1/2 way into our meal... What is wrong with these young people? Seriously if you can't do it correctly, maybe this isn't the job for you. My February rating gave kabuki 5 stars, this time it all fell apart. I'll think twice about coming here again, because from this experience the problem was with the staff.
